  1. Yeah, my Byron Brother, I got that too! Bex will (pardon me) shit her pants when she sees your balloon exit pics.
  2. Just got back from Eloy, and Gasson and Finley did great seminars on both videography and camera flying. So much great information from such experienced camera fliers. Anyhow, only use the tapes once. I've got all mine, but I think "archive" means organized, and mine just have beginning and ending dates on them. JP
  3. I only got one BM jump in, in between my other video duties. Me, LouDiamond, Hook n Swoop, and another Birdman who's name I forget launched a nice 4 way out of the SkyVan one afternoon. Hook-n-swoop came in and we got a dock, and Lou got great video footage that really helped me improve my body position. Did three jumps yesterday after Lou's coaching (in Byron) and finally jumped my still camera with the suit. We weren't able to do the BM flock out of the balloon, but I did get some nice footage of a BM balloon exit from the gondola.
  4. Hey, Skycat, I was thinking about this too. SkymonkeyONE to Amazon upon first meeting her: "Woman, each one of your boobs is bigger than my head." CoconutMonkey to Deuce while shooting guns out in the desert: "Hold my beer a sec, I gotta reload" Hooknswoop, me and LouDiamond were stabilizing that guy who hooked himself into the (damn that guy was freaking lucky!) wet grass on the main landing area and Amy walks up behind Derek and asks "Can I help?". Derek is trying to keep the spectator value of the scene low and says "NO" then turns and sees it's Amy and quickly says "Uh, YES!". This leads to another memorable quote when Amy sees the guy thrash all his arms and legs, proving he's not broken and she says (something to the effect of): "Nah, he's OK" Then Brian Burke rides up in the golf cart and says: "Hey, if we can move him, let's get him outta here, we got jumpers landing" (Big heart, that guy ) Finally (for now) Brian Burke to me, when I successfully completed an 150 yard downwind swoop on my Spectre from the secondary landing area way out into the desert: "That wasn't smart" Me, in my head: Piggyback dancing with Skycat was memorable too, but that wasn't a quote.
  5. No, dude, you were on stage, I am the one who had a front-row seat. That video alone is worth the price of the DZ.DVD. The pixie flew both of you like a cheap kite. Hell, a FREE kite! Once Bets decides which pictures she wants to publish, I can start laying out the photographic proof. PLF, I have a funnel to hybrid before and after picture that only the pixie could have saved.
  6. EVERY jump that Greg Gasson, me, and Iwan made will be on the DVD, including most of the firewire stuff I got.
  7. We need to get Derek to put the video up of his cutaway catch, it was truely awesome! I've got Gimp's video and Derek's of the catch. It will be featured on the DZ.Eloy video which will be out by the end of the month. I've got a whole lot of video to clip and storyboard this week. JP
  8. My metal-bodied Canon will reduce your puny plastic Rebel to splinters! And with my super coolio Christmas Sigma 14 Aspherical attached it weighs more than most imported autos!
  9. 4:10 AM here. Waiting on BigBen and Scooter. My truck is so full that all it lacks is an old lady in a rocking chair. While I'm waiting... I've decided to take the Bakersfield route. Down 5 and over to Bakersfield then over and down to 10 and in to Phoenix. Last year the traffic through LA was horrible, so even though the Bakersfield route is a little farther, I think it will be much faster. When we get into Phoenix, I doubt I'll have room for SkyMama's luggage, but I have a strap and I can drag it. See you tonight, Eloy peeps.
  10. I've got a lot of camera step jumps out of the same Caravan(s) that Perris JP jumped. If the plane is flying really slow, the tail is not that much of a problem. My 206 pilot flies the plane right at the stall horn when I do wingsuit jumps, and the tail is horizontally below me at exit, but it's no issue cause I fall off the step almost vertically at that speed. On any aircraft if somebody jumps up they are going to get in trouble. But almost all of my 700+ jumps are from King Airs and Caravans.
  11. I will grant your Christmas wish in about 24 hours. (It's good to be Santa!)
  12. Another nice thing about the Rebel is that you can use the Conceptus switch right out of the box. With the 10D (even though it is VASTLY superior ) you have to get a remote and chop it up to make a release.
  13. Wait, I am coming to Eloy, so can I have the happiest New Year's too?
  14. Jari, deBar has warned me that you are 90% liver by body weight. I will chronicle the Viking drinking carnage, but if deBar can't drink with you, I don't stand a chance I'll be there in 14 hours! Where's the beer? GIVE IT UP!
  15. Done (already) but thanks for the reminder. See you in 14 hours and 45 minutes.
  16. Scooter, I got beer, whiskey, snacks and the coffee machine. Just don't forget the laptop. I got the USB cable. We are enroute with a truckload of pain, BABAY!
  17. Here's ours. Yes, it's raining here on Christmas eve. Merry Chistmas all.
  18. You're talking about yours, right?
  19. Deuce has a case of Red Tail in the cooler. Old friends and new raised a toast.
  20. Oh, I don't know, Ed. I like being able to jump with whoever is in the hangar. Hell, Ed, you still have my personal best record for RW flying when you got that 80 year old guy back into his 1000th skydive back at the American Boogie. BM flying is just so different than anything else. If Chuck, Ed, and LouDiamond are at the DZ, I am damn glad I've got a suit, cause I get to fly with them. For Gareth's crew I've got the bumpers, and for DeBar's I've got the baggy suit. For the DZ.boogie I've got my camera wings. It's all good. BirdMan is a very challenging and fast/slow kinda good.
  21. Well i offered to do it for Deucey, but i guess i can call you too. I was vacuuming out my truck and getting the little dolls from behind the seats and stuff. PM me your cell number, I need it anyway. I'll take a deep breath, put on my welding helmet, and call you when I need to wakey-wakey.
  22. You bet! You're Friday morning will start with the traditional pre-long-drive announcement. "OK, we're ready to go. Everybody pee!" It's a 12 hour drive. That leaves us one hour to stretch and eat on the way and be on time to pick up the CornDog and SkyMama at about 6 at Phoenix. Bent prop by 7:30 at the latest. Put your ear on the rail. It's coming.
  23. Yeah, I"m pretty hyped too. Packing stuff up now, made some coolio mods the the Mark I Mod II DeuceCam. Plus, I've got to drive this "Scooter" character 12 hours to Arizona and the whole way he'll be saying "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Am I laid..err, are we there yet?"
