Geez, dude, that sounds an awful lot like that thing Sangiro asked us not to say.

For anybody in a 401K or mutuals, or the general stock market. The Dow has cracked 10 grand again. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/031211/nyth120_1.html

An ultralight, by definition, is not an aircraft that requires a private pilot's license. Unfortunately, to be an ultralight, the aircraft must weigh less than (250?) pounds, not be able to carry two passengers, carry a max of 5 gallons of fuel, and have an engine that generates less than 55 mph in level flight. An ultralight that could carry a skydiver to altitude would be called an airplane, and would require all the jump pilot stuff. I had thought about the ultralight as an affordable way to keep in the airplane-driving thing, but skydiving is a much better fix. Nah. It's just that when you're married it's much harder to throw the moldy pink laundry in the garbage and go shopping to convince yourself it never happened. Eventually you'll figure out that it goes like this: "Hon, have you seen my cool white cowboy shirt with the pearl snaps?" "No. I think you're talking about that shirt that I hate. Gosh, you look so good. Let's do it and then go shopping!" The bad thing is, once you get that all wired, then you have kids and have to add them into the equation.

Hell, CONNIE tried to give you a graduation kiss pass and you panicked! Here you are looking at your wristwatch.

Dude, steroids are BAD for you.

OK. That is pretty cool.

He's not here (see pic). He needs some time in the happy place (see pic).

Ah, Moto, one of the joys of being on staff is that I can always get on your load . Surrender in the hope that I will grant you quarter.
-
Enough have kissed and told that I'll be joining you in April for a two point 140 way! How YOU doin?
-
You think you are exempt from a picture like this? You have thrown down the gauntlet, Moto-san, and you are in my ringsite. This is Fireflyr, by the way, on his level one. I had to photoshop out most of the terror. Edit to spell fireflyr right.

It's about at thick as a 120 (which I use) but it is shorter. It just occurs to me that is might have the lens significantly lower enough that it won't clear a stock bonehead D-box. It's only marginally lighter than the 120.
-
Ah, Moto, now I will have to follow you around and document your learning curve and share it with the world.

Fine looking suit! Mine, sorry to say, is still the coolest!

If we have tandems scheduled and just about everybody shows up, it looks like we'll be doing the 14K thing. Now, I am seriously considering weaseling out of my daughter's first home basketball game to make this turn, so if a bunch of people fake, I will exact revenge. Sounds like a good time, and fireflier's beer alone is just about worth the trip!

We have one C206 which is slippery when wet.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but if all these folks don't show up by 11, this will not happen. The last couple of weeks lots of people called and said they were on the way, and didn't show up. They are not going to call Lodi until that plane has a guaranteed 5 loads, hot.

I never said common usage makes it so [see my posts on "assault weapons"]. I said it fits the definition for a magazine, whether it is called so or not. The designer of the weapon declined to name any part of the weapon a magazine. It does not have one. A war ship has a magazine, but that too has no relevance to a magazine in a rifle or pistol, except semantically. But WTF would I know, I'm just a Remington and Glock armorer. Thanks for sucking me into a gun thread. It's been novel. In the competitive shooting sports we had a saying for talkers. We'd let them yammer on and on and then when they ran out of steam we'd point at their target and ask "so where are the holes?" Cheers.

Your generalization validates calling a magazine a clip, rather than a magazine. Just because a word is in common usage, does not make it correct. Again I have the definitive tome in my hands, and there is no magazine on an M1 Garand. You choosing to call it one, does not make it so. Come to Eloy. You'll meet a guy who has won 3. I just happen to have a 1943 M1 Garand reciever in my hot little hands as I type. There is no magazine. I suggest you move on to less tangible subjects like the relative worth of the perception of safety of non-gun owners in armed societies and the like.

I'll be there Saturday. JP

No. The clip of an M1 is nothing like the stripper clips used on SKS's and the M14. The clip is inserted in it's entirety into the reciever. I am looking at my copy of "The M1 Grarand: Owner's Guide", but Scott A.Duff. The fully loaded clip is inserted into the reciever on top of the follower assembly. Once the last round is fired the clip is ejected with a very cool 'PING' sound. The M1 Garand does not have any part referred to as a magazine.
-
That would be really naive, since you can't eject a clip anyway. Now if you're talking about a magazine... Actually, you guys are both wrong. One example is the clip for an M1 Garand. After a couple million GI's came home after using the weapon, common usage for any bullet holding device was "clip", which was correct for the Garand, but incorrect for a 1911. It has always been OK by me that those men made that little error.

It's huge. Like Sputnik.
