I had so many times cameraman riding on my back on exit. I had several time cameraman hitting me in FF( one time it was so hard so I had to turn sideways other wise he would brake my neck). I had half conscious cameraman spinning in front of me so I had to push him away to open my parachute and he pulled the same time it was just luck that we didn't collide. I had cameraman falling inches from my nose on the opening and a lot of openings at the same high. *** Jesus!!!......Sounds like you had camera men who quite simply "sucked" and had no business being in the sky with a tandem...... get someone who is good and these problems will simply go away.... Just cause they have a camera, doesnt make them qualified to shoot video's.... I can see the merits of handicams, but if all tandems started using them.....I would be out a job.... I CAN see the possibility of some great video's if both outside video's and the handicams were blended on the same jump.... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

QuoteI dunno, I would be scared if the door opened and I wasn't wearing my rig...*** hmmmm, we may have to take up a collection to get you a sense of humor..... my comment was a JOKE !! especially at that altitude, even if I was wearing my rig I'd have to ride it down if it were an emergency*** not that the TSA would bat an eye with you wearing your rig on the plane...... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

You're kidding? Throwing an attitude for someone saving her life? *** I have seen this same shit......a jumper at our dz got caught with his routed wrong on the plane, his response was very similar to this one.. I would think most people would go "shit.....damn, I guess I am buyin the beer tonight" Thank you............. but some people are wired a bit....... different Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... >>- Can you imagine some skydiver saying to the stewardess.......dont worry, I'll close it Cabin Door Pops Open During Flight BOSTON (Aug. 26) - Passengers had a terrifying moment when a cabin door blew open at 500 feet during a Boston-to-Nantucket flight, but the airline said no one was in danger because the cabin wasn't pressurized. "All of a sudden the wind was whipping through the plane." -Calley Cutler "All of a sudden the wind was whipping through the plane," Calley Cutler, of Salem, N.H., told the Boston Globe. "I was never so scared in my entire life." Cutler and her husband were aboard Cape Air's eight-person Cessna 402 for the Aug. 11 flight. After the incident, the plane returned to Boston's Logan International Airport. It was found to be safe, and the flight went on to Nantucket. Cape Air spokeswoman Michelle Haynes said the passengers were never in danger. "It can be a bit disconcerting for passengers when they hear the noise coming from outside, but this was not an emergency by any stretch of the imagination," she said. The FAA met the plane upon its return to Logan and determined that the door hadn't been properly locked, FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac said. The plane, its door locked, then departed and flew safely to Nantucket. The Cutlers, however, were so shaken that they took a ferry back to the mainland. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... Havent hurt myself yet *** I hope you never have to change this line.... nothing against you, but your bag of tricks isnt very full and just one silly mistake can get you injured or killed... 1.4 is an aggressive wingloading, the person who sold you this should get the asshat of the year award. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

I switched to Xbraced at 1200 jumps, for me the advantage is I start my 270 around 700' so I have more time to judge (and correct if necessary) my approach, unlike my stiletto which I started it way lower and pretty much had to be right on the money or I would do a peter pan right on by... I have found are when I am filming tandems and pull around 4000' is I will still end up landing at the same time as some of the jumpers on their lightly loaded canopys, even though they threw at 2500' -- The only reason I consider this a disadvantage is I dont hook in traffic so I lose a chance for surfing.... One real downside is landing off the dz....... you definately dont wait to pick an area at 1000' Line twists can eat the altitude like you wouldnt believe. But all in all, I dont think I could go back to a non Xbraced and be happy. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

a motorcycle helmet would just break your neck on a hard opening...to much weight on top of a little neck when there is whip-lash going on. *** Actually a modern full face snell/dot approved helmet is quite lightweight and because it encases the head rather than sitting the weight on top it the chances of it breaking the neck are quite low. Most skydiving helmets mounting a camera or two weigh more than your typical street bike helmet. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

D22369 replied to Mockingbird's topic in Introductions and Greets
I just turned 50 last month please.....dont let that stop you !!!!........aint none of us getting younger... none of my friends are interested in learning welcome to skydiving.....It aint for everyone...make NEW ones..... My tandem was incredible*** Your Tandem Instructor did well, I take it?.... get yer damn licensedonning the fire retardent suit.... Serious now..... If this is something you wish to do, then do it........ you will meet people from all walks of life, some of them will be lifelong friends, when you walk on the dz, its not how much money you make, or what you do for a living that matters....it comes down to what you can do,,,,,,and who YOU are.... you have tasted the freedom we enjoy you will be miserable if you dont pursue it..... good luck with whatever avenue you decide upon.... *side note..*----fill out your profile.....everyone likes to know who they are talking to and where they are from........ -
Once the right to die is established then is it a right for all or just for some? *** if someone wishes to die, why would anyone have a problem with it?? I dont understand at all, we each are given our lives, that is the only thing we truly own... If I was made a quadrapalegic I would not wish to continue in this existence......selfish --yes, but its MY life...... if my arthritis(and I do have it) got to the point that daily pleasures were eclipsed by the wracking pain I should be given the choice to end my suffering.......... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

"Awa an shite"*** ok, I can deal with that.... so your saying..... AAS!!!!! -->Grinning

Listen to what Bill said, some people, (like myself) need to wear them to play with others, also, you might think about a tighter jumpsuit, or one with a slicker material.... If you do float, be very carefull at breakoff, the low man may not see you and if you track over someone when they dump,...........BRRRRRRR nasty things happen..... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

Hmmmm, take this with a grain of salt because I wasnt there to see what you did, but it sounds like your arch is weak........ if you are flat with no arch, then with a less than perfect presentation to the relative wind you can be spun around......over and under.....etc....... obviously you regained stability, but you should be able to leave the plane completely stable while on the hill.......... Talk to one of your instructors....see what he says, also, you might see if you can get one of the local videots to accompany you on your H&P, --try bribing him with beer......lots of beer ...if that doesnt work, try a lift ticket...... video is WELL worth it. >>>>>>>>>>>RELAX
