other than model purposes is there an engineering point? seems like it's excessively complicated compared to a similar sized 2 or 4... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I repeated level 4 and nearly had to repeat my H&P... went unstable.. waited to get stable. pulled... JM was placing bets on a cypress fire.. Skydiving isnt easy (no matter how much DZO's try/wish to sell it to everyone) it is an unnatural environment and an act that defies basic instincts. Expecting to perform 'perfectly' is unrealistic. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Exactly.. All 3 religions claim the same 'starting point' but they also claim that the others are 'corrupted beliefs' from their's which is the 'true path'. none of them really have persuasive arguments however it is equally likely that they are ALL 'corrupted beliefs' from whatever the original inspiration may have been... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

OT completely but River doing exactly that in an attempt to make it mesh with 'science' was one of my favorite scenes from Fire Fly... Incidentally I thought the list quite funny (and very apt for some small %. No 'side' can claim all its adherents are well educated in the tenets they profess to believe) but it could have been more accurately titled "Top 10 Strawmen Fallacies used by Christians to dismiss the arguments of Atheists" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
Religious people don't date non-religious people

we have a winner... if religion RUNS your life (any religion) we wont get along very well for very long... if you have the ability to say 'i dont know' and examine everything with that perspective life will be fine... as soon as the "we MUST do "X" because my religion believes ((insert unproven, unprovable assertion)" attitude shows I wont be around much longer... few things are less attractive than a closed mind. this is fine, as long as one includes zealous atheism in their list of religions (which I think you did). Else it's just someone putting all of the "the OTHER" people into the insane category absolutely as well... Ive had at least two relationships fail because there was no room for discussion on the existence of divinity. There is no subject i'm aware of that i will not entertain discussion about... but if you havent done your 'homework' it wont get very far.. a clearly uninformed undeveloped opinion is by no means as valuable as an educated informed one, and will never be given the same level of attention or respect. Zealotry of any stripe isnt worth my time.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

That is so true... I date people who can discuss things with me. I don't want someone who always agrees, because that would be boring, but I don't want someone who states absolutes and refuses to examine them either. I'm always willing to listen to a different opinion, and I'd like whoever I'm dating to grant me the same courtesy. absolutely. and i absolutely agree. Are you the same poster who consistently makes condescending, belittling remarks to others. You know, statements like: It's about practicing what you preach. so please indicate exactly how any of those qoutes illustrates a 'closed mind' 1. Ive Deployed twice.. I think i have a right to use the word 'we' that those who sit on their ass and TALK about 'doing the right thing' do not. 2. Anyone who believes the ENTIRE US is at War at the moment is delusional. 3. Provide some *evidence (standard definition applies) to support the 'love' of your unseen, intangible friend and I'll be happy to listen. Nothing provided so far meets the standard definition of 'evidence' got anymore Strawmen to be burned down?? an "Open Mind" doesnt mean I'm going to accept anything you say simply because you say it.. that would fall under the definition of 'gullible' In addition, having been around these debates/subjects more than a few times.. when those 'new' to such debates come in repeating the same tired, invalid arguments they are given the amount of credit and attention they deserve.. very little. If you are adding something 'new' and i'm always willing to listen... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
Nobody can put it into the ceiling fan as consistently as I but i think there is some randomizing going on.. will have to write a macro to make exact mouse movements and test... I made a couple of perfect throws that sailed right out the window... only to stall in the next second.. and go nowhere... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

One of my former soldiers (ages ago when i was active) got hired right out of the Army into an 'FBI intern' program based on her undergraduate degree, desire for forensic training and her TS SCI, but I dont think that is the 'norm' (she was also one of the "smartest cookies" i'd ever run into in the military). ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

unless you have total control of your contractual assignments that isn't really possible for an individual. Once youve got one smart companies will try to keep you on the right projects so yours never expires, but again that isnt exactly up to the individual. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

totally agree.. I had some United bitch try to tell me that renaming the emergency exit to 'expanded leg room seating' and trying to charge 50$ more to sit there when checking in wasnt blatant price gouging fuck United.. I'll use soon or eat all my FF miles.. they wont be getting any of my travel ever again. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

Fed Ex or slow mail... Airlines absolutely SUCK for traveling with equipment now... a few trips ago they made me check a 3k$ tool kit that somehow 'vanished' under all our tighter security.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

no.. the reason being that you cant claim 'divinely inspired prophecy' after the fact.... if you only include the prophecy people can point to it after the fact and claim you were correct.. even if it wasn't actually recorded until said 'prophecy' had be fulfilled. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

Wow.... can I steal that for my next sig line? That is so true. Probably about half the people I've dated have been christian, and the other half a mix of everything else, but nobody I'd describe as a zealot or fanatic. I date people who can discuss things with me. I don't want someone who always agrees, because that would be boring, but I don't want someone who states absolutes and refuses to examine them either. I'm always willing to listen to a different opinion, and I'd like whoever I'm dating to grant me the same courtesy. absolutely. and i absolutely agree... Disagreement and (rational)discussion are the source of growth. As long as one is willing to question and examine everything of interest, then a relationship (with me) is always possible.. there is very little I dont question continually myself. Someone who helps me challenge the 'fixed' position of comfort that attitude and belief tends to settle in, is an asset greatly desired. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

the intellligent observer would not... nor would they assume that the first religious text, person, experience that somehow touched them was "Divine Mandate" Even assuming that many of the 'proofs' of the Existence of God expressed here are accurate, where in those 'proofs' is the Name JESUS 'written in the heavens'? in simpler terms why is "your" God the "right one" (for everyone)? There are a multitude of options all with pretty much equally persuasive arguments (yet none so persuasive that they out shine all others for all of humanity as one would expect if Divinity were to truly reveal herself to mankind.) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

it would go against the JEWS core beliefs.. Christianity was creating a new model, one that clearly emphasized that the 'lowest' (women, lepers, meek etc) were the equals to the elite (inner circle, religious leaders etc.. aka the Disciples.) in the eyes of God. This particular detail helps illustrate exactly that.. the revelation came not to the initiated but instead to those who's voice had 'no value' in the status quo. Christianity was appealing directly to the 'lowest denominator' in a way Judaism never had. As I've argued before the early church leaders were not Theologians they were Revolutionaries and well aware of what kinds of encouragement their growing religion needed to spread throughout the masses.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
correct, but if your employer doesnt have a 'sponsor' for everyone that needs that level of clearance for that contract you might not be renewed at your current level.. the individual usually has no say in this whatsoever.. it is a matter of billets and sponsorship. so all the posts of 'don't let it expire' are silly.. you don't make that decision generally, your job requires it or it does not. Even when sponsored the costs are 'eaten' by someone, if you are not directly DoD that is usually your employer. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

The realibility of the New Testament is quite good. Look at the number of copies and how closely they are dated to the original in comparison to any other writings of that era. That fact along with they were the writings of a race of people (Jews) who had no voice in the powers of their world (Rome) and it is even more remarkable. this is simply evidence of the bronze age version of kinko's, it says nothing about the truth of the events being copied, merely that the copyists were being held to a high standard of accuracy. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

this one is easy.. Out houses were generally wood.. building one of brick was seen as excessively over done and fancy.. therefore 'originally' being compared to a 'brick shithouse' was NOT a compliment.. 'brickhouse' (the song) is just a nicer shortened version of the same phrase after it had long since reversed meaning.. --------------------------------------------------------------- i despise.. "Good on you" like it is something that rubs off?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
