No it doesn't without a living will the parents she have final say...... ridiculous.. lets apply that reasoning to everything.. you want to move out of state, she wants to move out of state, but the parents dont want you to move because its to far for them to travel (and they never liked them southerners anyways )... by your logic THEIR desires matter MORE than either of yours... WTF are you even talking about, I said when it comes to ending her life as it should be. then while you position may be consistent, your logic is clearly inconsistent, So the trust your wife places in you only takes precedence in some matters?? your wife has CHOSEN you to be her voice, to represent your (as a couple) interests in place of all others…yet you claim that, should your judgment disagree with her parents wishes, her parents decisions out weigh your own? Ridiculous., if you believe this, why get married at all?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Because she shouldn't have to die with ONLY her cheating husband by her side and yes he cheated on her, he broke their marriage vows. He should have divorced her years ago. not before she was dead he didnt... and she actually died shortly after the heart attack.. he hung on, beyond any reasonable expectation and cared for her shell until it was obvious to everyone (except those blinded by religious fervor) that she was really gone... THEN he moved on with his life, just like her parents should have done originally.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Your reasoning is severely flawed. HOW? Or Which Part? forsaking all others ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Just married?? I guess you don’t take your marriage very seriously then… no i'm not... i'm well aware many people say things, make promises, and take oaths they dont really mean.. its rather sad, but that doesn’t change the fact you DID take an oath...if you dont really mean your vows (forsaking ALL others) why do you make them publicly? does your word mean anything to you? If you are breaking your vows at all, then your marriage itself is meaningless.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Says who? That's right her husband and the courts that beleived him. Again without a living will the parents should be the deciding factor and just let the widow get on with their lives unless of course the agree. BS.. parents have little to no legal influence past the age of majority, nor should they.. at the point you become an, you make the decisions on who, what, when and how your life is conducted, including who shares responsibility for those decisions in your absence (the spouse) her choice to marry HIM places HIS judgment above the parents.. (maybe you should re read the 'traditional' wedding vows??) anyone who does not accept that their spouse is now first and foremost the decisive authority SHOULDNT GET MARRIED... do you want your mother in law making daily decisions for your husband/wife in their absence instead of you?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

actually at least one study (quickly buried) showed that reaction times improved to a certain level of intoxication. thats the point, you should be held responsible for WHAT you do, no matter what the 'outside influences' alcohol, drugs, or mental instability... place the blame where it lies, on the person not the substance.. and as with legal intoxicants, punish those who endanger others, but so long as you are in your home, or not operating a motor vehicle the government shouldnt interfere... while your at it check the LD50 of cannibis compared to alcohol, tobacco and ALL other legal drugs... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

your position is near undefendable.. you are offended because YOU hold the Pope in high regard. However the (at this point hypothetical) question of his faith and its tenets as directly applied to a possible life support situation ARE clearly relevant. If we were discussing another public figure who's position on an related issue suddenly, very personally, affected him, would you be offended? For example if the Dali Lama were to suddenly take ill and be put on a respirator, would you find it offensive to question his condition in relation to his religious beliefs that clearly supports reincarnation thereby creates a contradiction of faith, by artificially sustaining this existence?? Such discussions might certainly fall into the realm of 'blasphemy' for true believers, but no believer is in no way forced to participate, and THIS is not a catholic church where your rules hold sway…... what IF the pope's condition deteriorates into a persistent vegetative state? should he be allowed then to join his lord peacefully? or should he be kept on this plane for as long as modern medicine can conceivably sustain him? You might not enjoy the manner in which the original question was phrased, but it is in no way offensive to an impartial observer, and that is the real standard.. 'impartial' those with a 'dog in the fight' will always find a reason to take offense, if it portrays their faith or position in a negative manner…. no matter what the subject honestly i'm offended by those who continually, and unjustifiably scream about PC speech and personal attacks in any form..... why? it is still as on topic as any thread in the SC ever is... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
driving in today one of the local radio shows (in relation to rising gas prices and a proposed gas fee for food delivery) stated.. 23, had finished college and was wandering the countryside.. college debt caught up with me, so i went home and started working again.. after about 2 weeks i recognized it wasnt going anywhere, and most of the people i was hanging out with were perfectly content to go nowhere and do nothing every night, and i needed a change... I was STILL getting mail from recruiters based on the ASVAB test i had taken in high school.. Navy wanted me in the Nuclear sub program, but being 6'4" that wasnt a good idea at all...I was bored so i wandered into their office (all 4 branches were in the same building) and looked to see who had the best offer... I picked Army, because they guaranteed me a flight slot that the AF couldnt, which pissed my father off a bit, (career AF) But my grandfather loved it.. (ret. Army) I was trying for flight Warrant at the time, but sort of got shafted (he actually lied about the availability which i got him busted for later) by the recruiter and went into a shortage MOS (that he got a bonus for filling) instead.. fortunately i discovered i really enjoyed the intel/imagery work and still got to fly so...... There is a long tradition of military service in my family.. (as of this date there is still a direct line of service in the US military for some 180ish years, longer if you count foreign military service) soo it wasnt a big change really..... there were things i had grown up with I was completely unaware were military related until i heard them in 'context' ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

iirc that shape (or one very similar) was one of the original clip art 'cutouts'.. if so, it will be rather difficult for anyone to claim ownership.. and there are some significant differences... would be up to the copyright lawyers to argue about i imagine.. but i bet birdman cant really afford that either.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

9/11 doesnt bother me.. the increasing erosion of the fundamental ideal of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness worries me more.. if there were another country that held them in higher regard, i'd be there in a minute.. as is this is still the best option we've got. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

that is a freestyle canopy landing, the latest sub discipline for professional swoopers...that canopy is hooked up normally and the pilot does a full 180 during the surf... its a REALLY sick, very high difficulty maneuver ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
