Interesting. I made the exact same comment in this thread with an opposite conclusion and you chose that one to make your commentary. You have 2 posters here who make similar but opposing posts (in a very civil manner) and your conclusion is that one is more knowledgeable. actually i chose to comment based on simple observation, nearly everyone I know that seriously questioned their faith has recognized that there are answers it does not contain, every clergy member interested enough to seriously discuss the issues involved have always retreated to ‘it’s a matter of faith’ when faced with questions their dogma cannot answer.. knowledge, education and inquiry about ‘how things really work’ ALWAYS brings dark age dogma into question… There is quite a difference between someone who seeks knowledge by asking questions and someone who looks for questions that fit their answers... do you dispute the original assertion? Knowledge and faith are mutually exclusive? you’ve admitted that you never questioned the beliefs you were initially indoctrinated with, do you recognize how limited the position of' learning' you claim (vs study outside of a particular belief) to have done really is? Would you say the Muslim who has never read any religious text other than the Koran has truly sought ‘God’, has really attempted to educate himself on the true nature of divinity? Or does he cling to what he knows because it provides a safe, unquestioning refuge from true knowledge? Why do you believe a Catholic indoctrination to be more impartial? One of the first principles of education is the recognition that everything you ‘believe you know’ you know may be incorrect.. just as you cannot cannot pour wine into a vase full of water, you cannot teach anyone ANYTHING who believes they already have the answers…... do you think a catholic education provides an impartial base to acquire true knowledge? T is right, you are thinking to much about it...you've already got the frame for it so just go jump..but if your trying to focus on tracking jump with people who are really going to TRACK! as opposed to the 'forward motion RW' that many tracking dives become.. 2 and 3 ways are better than larger dives for this... in addition while the sensations are similar, the body position for Birdman jumps is particular to wingsuits (and perhaps particular to each suit type) i'd tend to say that while flying wingsuits really helps your track (learning small refinements) tracking dives dont do as much to help your wingsuit... a few general bits.. rolling your shoulders forward 'cups' more air with your chest = better track vs rolling shoulders back to create an arch = dive arms out slightly/legs spread slightly can help your track (in both lift and forward motion) as it effectively increases your surface area (air doesnt flow between your legs/arms and body if they are only slightly out and so creates a larger 'wing') spread wide is a good way to slow forward motion without giving up to much of an idea shape (and so losing altitude) crab track (legs tucked in) is a more extreme way to slow... generally the 'more rigid' your body is the faster you track (as long as you are not so tense you cant control your heading/atitude effectively) i'm not sure thats true in birdman... there are LOTS of ways to do most things in a track.. what is most 'efficient' seems to vary depending on the person and individual body shape... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
