I think you missread what he meant Bill. He uses a fullface, and reflective googles and cant see the other people. But if he really means he cant see the difference of front and back of a helmet, you are either ..... or too far away to and dont need to comunicate

Not sure how the chinstraps are connected on that helmet, but my Benny half is pretty much a "skate helmet". And sure you can attach a cutaway system on them.

Spectre parachute a good starting chute?
Hellis replied to dgbiss's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where does it say that? I replied to docpop and dragons post. The reason i wrote it is because what docpop wrote does not add up with my expirience, and as i can see not with dragons either. Maybe you should go bark on the one that missquoted PD instead, if that is the case -
Spectre parachute a good starting chute?
Hellis replied to dgbiss's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not according to PD: Huh? When i fly in close proximity with one other jumper who flies a Sabre loaded about the same as me i fly slower and has less glide. I dont know how much size of canopy matters, but she flies a 120 or 135 Sabre and i fly 170 Spectre. I have never found that my Spectre has a good glideratio compared to other canopies. -
Could it be risers from one of these rigs? http://www.flyyourbody.com/en/online-shop/base-jump/base-jump-rig.html
-
Nope never seen a cutaway main catching air again. They are usually tangled up and fall marinally slower than the freebag. But thats what i have seen. We dont usually chop good mains in the first place And im not convinced that he was in the harness at the time of deployment. At 1000 jumps and a wide cheststrap with a stop at the end... i just cant see it happen. Sorry but its way to unlikely for me to see that as a possibillity

I think we all know AADs fire and dont fire when they are supposed to every now and then. But rig alone in freefall, the weight to size ratio is fairly high. Im not sure that a canopy opens with that low wingload. The canopy might come out and it will slow it down but im not sure it will inflate and become a wing.

I jump with one of those without a stop at the end and they are not as easy to take of as you might think. I find the the normal wide cheststrap easier to loosen than the thinner without a stop. As if the hardware bites on to the cheststrap better. Some of the people i jump with dont even know how to loosen the cheststrap under canopy because it holds the strap that hard. But even if he did forget to connect the cheststrap or missrouted it, i dont understand how the legstraps can be at their stops. If he would have had a deployment i can see the staps slipping to its ends, but if i understand it correct there was only a reserve out due to AAD? That leads me to belive he fell out of the harness before pullaltitude

Thanks but most of those picures are not on the Benny helmet and those who are Bennys are the same picures as you can se on skysystems page

Any video or pictures from inside the plane where you can see if he had his straps undone before exit? All straps beeing undone like that sounds to me like suicide
-
And one more question. Anyone know of a way to mount a cutaway system on a Benny Half? As i have never seen one i dont know anything about them.

I have seen that picture before and i wanted a better picture. But it seems Chutingstar has updated with a few more pictures (the bottom pictures) since i last looked there. Thanks for the link.

I have been thinking of buying a second helmet that is in "half-shape" and as far as i know that means Protec or Benny. Protecs are everywhere, but i have never seen a Benny. Can someone please post a image of the top of a Benny helmet? Im wondering about the ventilation holes (if any) and their placement. Thanks
-
Sure, but i think the trees are doing us good.

Why is nobody talking about PdF gear? Same reason, 10+ years in the making
-
Short answer: Yes there are people following this chart due to the fact that chart is a copy of swedish rules. But: We dont have all the requirements he does. Also nothing about altitude of dropzone, and that could be because its not that big problem here. Basicly we have the chart and some other rules about what type of canopy.

I belive thousands of people have mounted a GoPro with the stickymount to their helmets with sucess, and the airspeed is not much different. I mounted my Contour with 3M velcro to the cowling and it works good, the only problem is the vibrations from the engine sometimes mess up the video. On most rpms the vibrations even out and the image is stable (video) but if the pilot finds the correct rpm it gets very shaky. You could drill holes around the cameramount and use cable ties for extra saftey. If the cowling starts to crack you would probably notice before it becomes a problem
-
Only when jumprun is into the wind. If your quoting would have been a little higher you would have got this part: Meaing all but downwind use that system
-
I think you would get better pictures if you mount it on the cowling instead. But that means either a diffternt mount that can swiwel or rotating the images 90 degrees.

So i should cancel the order on stickers saying "Vigil safe airplane"? Thought i had a good buisness plan there. I understand what you are saying, and your reasoning makes sense.
-
Is that really the proper way to stow the brakeline on that rig? It looks as if you have a keeper on the other side of the riser
-
Maybe im missunderstanding what you write or i have missunderstood the incident where vigils fired but, why do you mean its not as much of a problem on a Otter compared to a no door plane? If i understand the incident correct, the reason there was a "missfire" (it was not a missfire as it did as it was supposed to do) was because when they/someone opend the door the rapid pressurization of the door opening fired the Vigils? In my world that would mean a no door airplane is Vigil safe as it can not create this pressurization by opening a door. But if the one opening the door has a Vigil, he might have a bad day. If i understand your reasoning you mean that bigger airplanes mean they sit further from the door?

I had the same problem but when i open it as a zip, one file makes sense in the "zip"

All you need is a VHS-player and a DVD-recorder. A combination of what most people have in their livingroom and their basement/attic and you can do it yourself Connect them with a scart cable and put the DVD on AV and play the VHS tape, press record on the DVD.
