Hey Sebazz, they chant this at Byron when someone graduates AFF, but I never really understood it (can't understand their shouting ) Can you explain what they are saying and what it means, and where the hell it started ?? - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Just a thought.... It could be like everything else - a slow-ass economy. I am new this year, but I have talked to other upjumpers and they say that the same people are coming out, but not as regularly. They are just coming out to stay current. I am sure if things were better financially, then more peeps would be jumping more regularly. Then there is me... I am unemployed, and I still put in 4-5 jumps a weekend. Butthead: Whoa! Making stow bites too big, a close one...
Cornholio replied to GrumpySmurf's topic in Safety and Training
Are these "bites" referring to the length of lines that exceeds the rubber bands per stow ? Like a normal length is two inches past the rubber bands...what length were yours at ? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump -
I thought that it was not a knot.... You simply insert the end of the line into the grommet, then pull it over the end of the brake handle. That locks it in place. However, if you don't have a loop in the end of your brake lines ( for this purpose ) then I follow the previous suggestion. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Hehe As a matter of fact, yes, I did my 3-ring maintenance yesterday. You're a day too late , but I think it is great that you are reminding peeps about it. It should be done every 30 days. - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

If you were able to cut the offending line on your main, would it be possible just to get that one line replaced, or would you have to get the entire canopy relined ? It is my belief that a $45 repack is much cheaper and safer than a ~$200 reline of the entire canopy or 20-40 for a rigger-replaced line. If it were me and I encountered the same problem....GOODBYE MAIN , Hello reserve!! Save your knife for your reserve. - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, I'm going to Cut and Paste it into other threads now that I know the answer.

Well, you got a whole set of new friends now! Welcome to the on-line world of skydiving. Sorry to hear about your loss. The good thing about a cutaway is that there is usually something better that comes out...or comes along, in your case. - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! No shit, why the hell would you want to do this to yourself and possibly injure others ? ? So by passing electricity through more than one person, are you somewhat reducing the shock ? If not, then why the hell do you do this ? You do know that the biggest reason people die from an AC shock, is not the current, voltage, or amps alone - it's that when you get shocked you have a tendency to "clamp down" on something and not be able to let go, and eventually the current kills you. So I can see you all in a star fomration ( holding wrists, I assume) and then clamping down on each other's wrists and not being able to let go. [sarcasm]Sounds like a lotta fun people.[/sarcasm] Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump

Not sure why, but every time I click on a thread that I have not opened before, it shows collapsed, with no text in the messages. See attached picture. Anyone else seeing this ? I thought about posting it in the suggestion/bug reports, but I wanted to know if anyone else was seeing this, or if it was just me. - Matt Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Well technically it's not really a backdoor. I actually had a web page open with dz.com in it since last Friday. As long as I don't go out to the main page, it is possible to stay within the forums. And it is possible to get in by doing a search for someone's name on the main page, then just click on the forum/thread that they messaged in. __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

All right....here's my plan I'm going to swing by Byron in the AM and pickup my rig -maybe do a single jump if they can get a load up in the 20 minutes I am there. Then, I'm heading up to Davis for the day - possibly spending the night since I got my tent in the back of my jeep. Gotta remember to bring some pies.... So someone mentioned that I gotta land out if I have under 50 jumps, is this true? Someone also mentioned that I need a B to go to 20k, is this the case ? - L8 __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

Hey don't show this picture to Lummy - He'll try and tell you that this pic was photoshoped or something or other.... Oh shit, too late!!
-
Damnit Lummy, you gotta let it go on a little bit further. I believed it.
-
Lummy, you going to be there tomorrow? If so, I might just swing by Lodi and pickup my rig and then head on up there for the day. - Matt __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

Not really, but I would care if the Bay Area fell into the bay... __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.
