I have thought about that procedure. How about starting in the jump plane and then right before you feel yourself about to explode you do a two-way out of the plane and finish the deed at around 8-10K . Then she has time to clean up on the way down. LOL __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

HAHA - No...Sex is available with the s/o . It's not just the act of having sex and with a specific person. I guess what I was trying to say was that the feelings you get from the entire skydiving experience (pre-flight, plane ride, jumping out, canopy flight, landing) was better than the entire sexual experience including orgasm. Or maybe I was just trying to compare the sensations of both to a whuffo to make him understand why I want to do it again. But this sparked a question in my mind as to if I were to compare the two. I guess if it had been a long time since I had sex, then maybe I would feel differently. Oh wait...it has been a while now... __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

I was having a conversation with one of my whuffo friends last night about why I "suddenly became so interested in jumping out of perfectly good airplanes." Well we got around to comparing it to sex. I basically said that at this point in my life, skydiving beats the pants off sex (better than sex) any day - any time - with anybody. Now, that feeling may change or it may vary depending on the person, or the type of skydive, etc... It seems that the 3 important things to skydivers (or at least us on dz.com) are times laid:times jumped:cases owed.... what is more important? What do you guys/gals think ?? Which would you rather do if given the choice (if cost per jump was not an issue ?) Under what circumstances would one be greater than the other ? Speak up!!! __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

Heh...Student loan check.... I got one of those coming in a couple months. I think 2500 is for "school supplies" computers, desks, chairs, skydiving rigs... Don't have a dream rig yet, still learning what is out there. My biggest concern right now is whether to go with a 190 or a 210. (ya I know there is a thread on that already. I'm just telling you what's on my mind right now...) - Matt __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

Hey Nathan, it's looking like Sunday is going to be good here in the Bay Area. I'm planning on heading up to Byron Sunday AM and hopefully be able to complete a few AFF levels. It's supposed to be partly cloudy that day and sunny later on in the afternoon. - Matt __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

I could be mistaken, but the advertisements help offset the cost of running this website. I have been involved in setting up and running mainstream web sites in the past and trust me... they are not cheap to run. WE do anything and everything jut to break even. Part of that breaking even is ads. Most of the time, you don't break even. I am sure that Sangiro dishes out a pretty penny for his own time invested and also a high-speed connection to the Internet. I would have kept quiet, but when you start bashing the hand that feeds you (HH and his web site) then you got it coming. I've been there...done that... Just my .02

Hey!!!! WOOOOOHOOOO!!! I'm not a newbie anymore!!! I am enthused...let me tell you about it...

[mad scientist] Aha....very interesting.. [/mad scientist] Thanks!!

where do you see this top 50 list ? People have said that before (probably when they were talking about Clay.)

Well I guess you could consider Byron my home DZ. But since I have not been anywere else, I really have nothing to compare it to. I do enjoy it there though. Even though I probably cannot jump today, I am thinking of heading up there this afternoon just to learn how to pack and hang out. Been checking the automated weather system at Byron airport all morning. Still too windy to jump.... 10:30 12knots/15 gusts 11:30 11knots/15 gusts 12:00 9 knots/ 20 gusts 12:25 12knots / 17 gusts FAAAAWWWK!!!! I wannna wannna wannna wannna wannna wannna jump!!!!!!

Yeah, it will definitely get better. Take it from a newbie - I just started my AFF a couple weeks ago. My Tandem jump was pretty fun, but I also felt like puking afterwards. And I did not know that I wanted to do it again. I was like, "Ok, I did it... why the hell do I want to do that again??" Well, that feeling passed as soon as the nauseous feeling went away and then I couldn't wait to do it again!!! My first AFF jump was fine - I did not get nauseous at all. My second one was fine too. But my third jump, I switched canopies from a F111 to a ZP and after turning 360s most of the way down I was nauseous again. I can definitely relate to what you guys were saying about not knowing exactly what the canopy is going to do or what the instructor is going to do that makes you sick. I think the next time I fly a ZP and do high-speed turns, I will be a bit more prepared. - Matt

yeah, I'm pretty bummed out about the weather too. I just called my dz and checked the weather - winds gusting to 17MPH and getting stronger. I was planning on doing my AFF L4 and maybe L5 today! Oh well, hoefully next weekend. I still have snowboarding to look forward to tomorrow!! Weather can't impact that too much. LOL
-
WOW!!! That was pretty rad. Not at all what I thought it would look like - much faster impact. At about 1000-1500 feet is when I really started to notice the ground getting closer... about 6-8 seconds before impact. Thanks for posting that link. -Matt

Yeah Byron is Great!!! Good people there too. I just completed my AFF level 2 and 3 last weekend. Going back this Saturday to try and knock out two more levels. - Matt

This actually brings up a question that I never thought I would ask... but this thread sounds about right for it.... Does anyone know of a video of something or someone hitting the earth at terminal velocity ( such as a watermelon dropped from a plane with a camera attached to the side, or perhaps a person... ) It would be an interesting test to see when the ground rush really starts to happen without you actually having to experience it. - Matt

here here!! I concur that statement. They only type of pre-fab that you buy is a laptop. If it sits in the floor or sits on your desk, then you build it yourself. Not only do you learn a lot, if you don't know anything about building one, but you also know what to fix if something goes wrong.
-
ROTFLMAO Damn, that was funny!!!
-
Thanks Dave. Here is the link to the big one (45MB) This one has preflight and a pretty bad landing shot. My landing was good, but the shot sucked. http://www.almgren.net/aff/AffLevel3.wmv

Thanks for uploading that movie - not sure why I did not think about that... I must have been too excited yesterday - haha

WOOOOOOOOOHHOOOOOOO!!!!! Yeah, that is about all I can say after nailing down two awesome dives today. I passed my AFF level 2 and level 3 with flying colors. I was not sure how I would do on #3 as my instructor told me that my arch needed some work. I was afraid that they would not let me fly alone, but they did, because I pulled off the arch!! WOOOO!!! Funny thing is, my instructor, told me to think of getting a blowjob while falling ( so in essence sticking my hips out and crotch out front) Heh, yeah, I thought about that once when I was falling and that's about all I needed to keep that arch. It also helped me relax a bit, cause it was pretty funny at the time. AND... I got video... . AND.. I got a video posted on the web. I would like to offer Sangiro and maybe PilotDave ( I forget his name right now - the guy that runs that FTP site) to put those on their sites. I remember yesterday and the day before looking for a video about AFF Level 3 and I could not find shit. I actually found one for a level 4, but I think that level 4 was the same as my level 3 today. So feel free to use them if you like. There is one problem - my web service provider has a problem streaming Windows Media files. Yeah, I had to encode them in that, because it's the best quality format for the file size. So, the problem is: the link below will not correctly work if you just click on it. You have to right click, choose "Save As..." and then when it asks you what you want to save it as, you MUST RENAME it from ".html" to ".wmv" Yeah, it's pretty lame, but hopefully they will get it fixed soon. If you have problems let me know. I am trying to find another codec to make it smaller, but the rest of them suck... and no, I don't have Quicktime.. :( REMEMBER TO RIGHT CLICK AND "SAVE AS" OR "SAVE TARGET AS..." http://www.almgren.net/aff/AffLevel3_sm_jump-only.wmv REMEMBER TO RENAME THE FILE TO filename.WMV BEFORE PLAYING Once you download it to your hard drive, it should play fine in Windows Media player. It's just under 5 MB, so have fun downloading it and let me know what you think. This is just the jump only. I have the intro and end too, if you want to see that, but it's big...about 45 MB worth and much better quality - still WMV format. Let me know if anyone wants to see that and I will post a link to it. WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! Yeah, I think I got what they call permagrin...LOL - Matt
