hmmm... I'm still a bit confused by what you said. So someone needs to sign your logbook for that day and that jump *before* you jump ? Under what circumstances would this happen ? I wondered about this saying too. However, my question is a little different: Why do people (skydivers) say it when a fellow skydiver dies or goes in ? It actually makes sense to me. The victims compensation fund was designed for families that did not have the type of coverage that this guy had on his wife. True, they were probably loaded to the gills with money and he is suing on behalf of lost income that she would provide. The VCF was created to keep people from suing because chances are, they would be getting compensated for more than they would sue for, or about equal. However, this woman was worth a lot more than the VCF would pay out. Personally, I would probably be doing the same thing if I felt that the VCF was not covering what was/would be lost. And no, I don't think you're insensitive, but maybe try looking at it from a victim's point of view. .... pictures please !! My weekend: 2:2:1 I did my first solo dive today !! It went so well, I did another solo dive. Nothing too special in those dives other than diving out of the KA (never did that before) and I also never had a relaxed dive and did nothing - no turns, no maneuvers for AFF, NOTHING!! and I LOVED IT __________________________________________ If first you don't succeed....skydiving is not for you.

Actually, it does say "FOR THE BIKER IN ALL OF US! " at the bottom of those pictures. Chances are, it is a bike helmet. I don't think they would be stupid enough to make something with a spike on it for skydiving.. Ok, this was brought up in another guy thread, and I couldn't just let this one die. I am suprised nobody (no guy) has posted this yet. Urinal Ettiquette 1 URINAL No choice here, just start pissing. 2 URINALS As you walk in the first thing you should take note of is where are the walls and separations. If there is some sort of separation left of the first urinal you should use that one. However if that is not the case you should proceed to the 2nd urinal without exception. 3 URINALS At this point there are more options available. Most importantly DO NOT GO TO THE MIDDLE URINAL. That is a buffer urinal. It is never actually used but it's purpose is to secure the privacy of those peeing on either end. Other then that you should use the same rules as with 2 urinals except it is slightly more acceptable to use the first urinal (use your own judgement, it depends on other factors like how far you would have to be walking and where you would have to be walking to get to that 3rd urinal. 4 URINALS At this point I must mention my small urinal rule. That is IT IS EVERY MAN'S GOD GIVEN RIGHT THAT HE SHALL NOT HAVE TO PISS IN A SMALL SIZED URINAL. You know what I'm talking about, those little urinals sometimes on the end. Under no circumstances should you consider yourself forced to pee there. You even have the right to use a stall or pretend to comb your hair, or do anything else (EXCEPT WAIT BEHIND ANOTHER PISSER) while you are waiting for another urinal to open up. Ok, so the first pisser should go to the first urinal position. It is acceptable to go to the 4th urinal position, but not encouraged. The second urinator must proceed to a urinal two positions away. Please note, this should not be an end position! The reasoning for this is that the 3rd urinator should go to that end position (it would be inappropriate for a 3rd urinator to have to make a choice of next to which man he should piss. The 4th pisser then takes the final position although is entitled to fumble around for a few seconds if he chooses if he senses an end urinal is about to open up. 5 URINALS At this point all hell usually breaks loose. The rules for 5 urinals are pretty basic. There are 3 prime urinal spots that can be filled in any order. These are the 1,3, and 5 urinals. It is appropriate though for the first urinator to go to position 1 or 5 however. Also note, urinal 2 should be filled before urinal 4 (so to speak), as it is closer and therefore there is no reason 4 should be chosen over it. 6 URINALS For some unknown reason most people do not observe the skip-a-urinal rule when there are 6 of them. However the masses are usually wrong so allow a buffer urinal on either side when possible. The only real other rule is that if you see a guy out of control, shooting all over the place and it seems like he is having some problems you should probably head towards the other side with at least one buffer person in between you.
