  5. Do a search. Then look up the manual for the tandem system that will be used for the jump. Then look up the 19 commandments of tandem parachuting. Then remember that even if you meet ALL of those requirements, many TI's wont let you lurk them on a tandem if they don't know you.   7. No, I don't think it would make a difference to anyone. It's easy to look down and say "I'm hauling ass" or "I'm not getting any forward progress". No need for any electronics to tell us what our MK-1 eyeballs are already able to tell us. You're trying to identify and fix something that isn't a problem.   8. Nope, usually they're using a separate GPS unit. Well, that would work great for determining a few parts about your canopy flight, however (AFAIK) it's not possible for the unit to determine wind speed and direction without having to fly in every direction so it can calibrate. Then you gotta remember, winds shift/change from what they were at 6k to what they are at 3k and even what they are at the ground.   19. Its probably a small buzz coming off of the camera because you're touching something else that's conductive and the shell of the cage (which is conductive via the mounting screw on the camera. Try unplugging the charger, I bet that will resolve it. If so, it is a wiring issue. I wouldn't suggest you keep "playing" with it though. I appreciate a wave off and I always give the video guy one if I'm on the other side. Actually, believe it or not, as long as your pilot chute is worth a damn, you can close that rig as tight as you can (not using positive leverage devices) and I bet your container will still open fine. Test it by closing it as tight as you want and trying to pick up the container by the bridle. I think you'll be surprised how little force it takes for the curved pin to do its job. No need to have another rigger disassemble and reassemble the entire rig, the bulk is changed during the repack.   23. 5.5 for me, I usually flash 5-5 with one hand and the video guys know that means it's pull time. If the spot is long, I give the video guy a big L with my thumb and index finger and adjust the pull alti as needed to give him some space to get back. I've done plenty of videos getting hosed by the TI on the spot.   24. There were the older OXYGNs and the newer OXYGNs... You probably have the older one which is slightly different and makes the 'new' visor fit improperly. I feel your pain. In the end, I just cranked the visor plates on the sides down and use it as a non opening helmet (like a factory diver).   25. I geared up a student for a jump with another instructor using a Strong harness. I told him that I put it on him and adjusted it the way I usually do for my harness and that he should check it to make sure its the way HE wants it. He took a look at it and asked if it was my Sigma harness, because it fit the student so much better than the Strong ones!
