    Interesting word 'maintained'. If you've done the required 4 and 8 year services, you have 'maintained in accordance to the manufacturer's instructions' No where in the manual does it state a 12 year maintenance that requires several blows with a 5lb sledge, then an operational check that it must pass.     Can you post some pictures? Preferably of the rig closed, the length of the closing loop and the size of canopy/container you got? I don't remember if I did or didn't get any military discount (got it while I was still AD) but having his support behind it more than makes the deal worth it.     FWIW, the head could have a different software than the unit serial number is linked to. Unlikely, but still very much possible. I had my Vigil 2 from around that same time frame (I'd have to look at my riggers log book to verify dates) that was effected by the LCD 2.20 software and it was the last jump of my AFF pre-course when it "Hello"ed me! I'm not saying it is the issue, but it is a possibility that a control unit got 'swapped'.     Looks about right for the placement for the hardware, don't think I've seen a SIGMA tandem rig with that sort of hardware (70101) for the MLW adjustment on the -I harness. I believe the laterals were pulled too far down for them to be there, suppose it could be the horizontal back strap but the angle and exact location seems odd. For what it's worth, I'm not against the Y-mod, I am against people inferring that I'm putting my students safety in risk by not having installed one in my rig yet. ETA: I've watched the video a few more times, It looks like it may also be the reserve side MLW adjustment hardware... but again, I'm not sure, video is fuzzy and the UPT bulletin says the very similar sounding incident had the Y-mod.     Absolutely not, no one has implied that it is. It's merely a mod to try and mitigate that possible outcome of falling out of the harness According to the UPT Advisory which I believe stemmed from this issue, the harness HAD a Y-mod. I watched the video a few times and could just barely make out what looked like the friction adapter just under the back pad, but I couldn't cleanly tell if it was that, the instructor MLW adjustment or one of the diagonals, but I think it was the Y-mod hardware.     When I have a super light AFF student, I will wear my STF hoodie over top of my RW jump suit. I have the draw string removed from the hood too. No issues I can find with it, other than I have no way to tuck it in other than the leg straps. Probably going to modify it with clips down at the bottom similar to a camera jacket. Oh, and it gets toasty climbing to altitude in FL in August in a 182.     if the machine is louder than the snoring, either the machine is about to cookout, or you have never slept with me I have been sleeping with mine for 8 months, and I do feel a huge difference, specially when I fall asleep prior to donning my mask...     We got stuck coming home from Iraq on one of my deployments. Seemed that the aircrew found EVERY possible problem with their aircraft and ended up 'breaking down' in Germany. Sure enough, middle of October. We were also advised to not ask what was under the blankets at the forward end of the cargo area. Fuckers coulda shared! Have fun at your party!
