I've built my last 6 computers from there and every single upgrade since I was 14 was bought from there too :P you can get some sweet deals in the eVGA classified section though, I can agree there! Im running DNSMasq because it can easily load a hosts file into the DNS. Then I have a hosts file from MVPS that I use (wrote a script to download a new one every week and implement it) in addition to local definitions. I see no ads on any device connected to my network. The only downside seems to be trying to play tv shows online. I don't do that, but a person with a VPN to my network uses it for that. Just had to swap their DNS servers back to a regular one. As far as clogging the intake, well, it would have to get past the filter and somehow clog it. If it get's stuck at the filter, I'd imagine it would probably get blown away before it became any real problem. As far as it getting stuck in the horizontal, I'd be interested to see exactly where you are meaning for it to get stuck, and how some corrective whacks to the controls wouldn't clear it. I made a one off bridle that has the velcro removed and has a small magnet in the top flap of the container as well as one in the bridle. My reasoning was it will NEVER wear out (unlike velcro). However, I stopped packing it that way and now pack it so that both sides of the bridle come from under the side flap. Pretty hard to fuck that up.
