  1. Guns??? leave em out, lock up the bullets tho, be like sending Tiger Woods to the golf course and hiding his golf balls "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo
  2. Well, don't bother with the French Canadians, they whine a lot, talk about separating and expect special treatment. a Newfie Canadian would be good, If you like, fishing, hunting, drinking and fighting that's the route to go. Just make sure ya got real cheap native smokes and plenty of beer in the fridge. 5. I normally do not post but rather read and learn, I am making an exception in this thread, My first tandem was in 06, I weighed about 270 pounds, my FJC was was also in 2006, at 270 pounds I was on student gear, main canopy was a Man of War 320, at 270 lbs plus gear moving around in the 182 was difficult, I did 12 static line jumps, buggered the dynamic exit on every jump, pounded in on landing on every jump, sustained the following injuries, broken tailbone 2x, twisted knee, twisted ankle, smashed in face on step of 182 buggering the exit. After the 12 jumps season ended, over the course of the winter ballooned up to 325 pounds, at that point the DZO grounded me, told me to fuck off, no more jumping and that I would end up as a fatality statistic I i did not lose weight. This was in July of 2008. Started jumping in April 2009 at 210 pounds, much easier to move around in the 182, did 4 TRCP's then onto freefall, solo certified in June 2009 after doing a total of 5 tandem skydives and 33 student jumps. At 420 pounds you will not be able to skydive SAFELY, you will at some point pound in and bust yourself up, maybe kill yourself or someone else, guaranteed you will end up with broken bones, titanium pins and a lengthy stay in the hospital and rehab. you need to lose weight and get down to 250 pounds to skydive safely and not only for skydiving for your own health benefit. It can be done, losing 200 pounds off a 420 pound frame is not impossible, there is plenty of advice in this thread on how to do it, I have struggled with my weight for the last 35 years and struggle every day to keep the weight off, I'm 43 years old and have never felt better since losing 105 pounds. My high blood pressure is no longer a problem, high cholestrol is down to healthy levels, my type 2 diabetes is gone and I don't have the mental health issues I used to have. Until you get to 250 pounds don't even bother thinking about skydiving. Sorry if I'm being an ass but this is the honest truth, If you want to skydive then hire a personal trainer, a dietician and hit the gym. My question to you is "how bad do you want it??" 6. Dude, I was 270 pounds when I did my tandem, 270 pounds at FJC, ballooned up to 325 pounds, took a year off to lose weight, started jumping again at 210 pounds. Do yourself a favour, drop 200 pounds, you'll have a bad landing and bust yourself up for sure, there's enough titanium walking around dz's across North America, not only that it's easier to maneuver inside and outside of 182s and 206s and generally makes the sport easier and more enjoyable, also cheaper as you can then purchase used gear without going to custom made gear. check out this link http://jorgecruise.com/ and this one http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3296280;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Good Luck
  7. Disagree 99%,,,As noted in an earlier post there are bad apples in every profession,,,expect the same respect that you give in return,,,,99% of the cops I've dealt with are pretty decent. Only 1 or 2 that I've encountered have been assholes,,generally they're good people making the best out of shitty situations scraping bodies out of cars, dealing with scumbags on a daily basis, they risk their lives everyday so ordinary people can go about their business relatively safely, they see the worst evil that humans can inflict on other humans, most everyday they see pain and suffering and try to help as best as they can,,,,,they arrest the criminals only to have a bleeding heart judge give them a slap on the wrist or dismiss the case entirely. I have a lot of respect for the men and women in law enforcement,,,I couldn't do it. 12. Get a second opinion, just for shits and giggles, you might be surprised
  13. Go to autobody shop and get a good quality rubbing compound,,,don't bother with the Canadian Tire (or American equivalent) crap. My experience has been even tho it takes longer hand rub the compound rather than an electric buffer. Once the color is restored use a good quality swirl remover polish / spray to take the swirl marks out. Car will look like new. 16. Agree 100%,,,there's too many deadbeat dads and parents out there who are more than willing to get laid but bail when it's time to step up and fullfill their parental obligations and responsibilities because it's "inconvenient" or "unplanned". If you're man enough to do the deed then you should be man enough to take responsibility for your actions. Ryoder,,,,completely agree with you, i had to go to 4 different doctors before I found one that would do the vasectomy procedure when I was 22 years old,, best thing I've ever done. 21. I contacted L&B, not an option apparently "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo
  22. Bought a used Pro Track that had a badly scratched face, took it to a local watch repair specialist to see if it could have the scratches polished out. The repairman used the same process he uses on digital watches and assured me that the polishing process does not raise the temperature of the unit any more than 100 degrees f or 37 degrees c. Got it back today with about 95% of the scratches removed, the guy did an awesome job and only cost $30.00 Can. Edit: the white fuzzies are from the packing material from the jewellers box that I forgot tp wipe off. 23. Unfortunately Canadian politicians at both the Federal and Provincial levels tend to be more self serving and corrupt than politicians in other democratic countries. here in Ontario we have Premier Dalton Mcguinty who was elected with a majority after promising no new taxes,, since then we have seen this government vote themselves a 25% pay increase, a $1 billion dollar Ehealth scandal that wasted well, a billion dollars on high priced consultants that have literally accomplished nothing http://montreal.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20061221/ontario_pay_raise_061221?hub=TorontoHome http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2009/10/07/ehealth-auditor.html Ontario Lottery Corporation Scandal http://toronto.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20090831/OLG_changes_090831/20090831?hub=Toronto and are now merging the Provincial Sales Tax (8%) and the Goods and Service Tax (5%) into a Harmonised Sales Tax (13%) . Of course there is a ton of services such as heating , hydro, haircuts, skydiving that is only charged 5% GST are now being charged 13% effective on July 1, 2010. http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/life/family/article/9642--how-will-the-budget-affect-your-family Unfortunately for me my wages will not be going up as much as the taxes. I will get a onetime rebate of $1000.00 ,,,, but the taxes charged are forever. Oh Yeah,,,one ther thing ,,,we Canadians have nothing in place to boot out politicians after they're elected,,, once they're in we are stuck with them till the next election,,,usually 4 years.
