If All Infidels Were Converted or Killed, Killing Would Continue

Excellent points, I would also add if you take the events today and go back 1000 years the term Jihadist could be interchangeable with Crusader. "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo -

What make a good skydiver?
skydiver604 replied to WhiteMongoose's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This is a strategy I recently learned that not only can apply to skydiving but to all aspects of our lives. The 6 Cylinders to Success (condensed version) by Tony Robbins 1) Set Crystal Clear Goals. 80% of life is determined by what we believe about ourselves and what we are capable of. The other 20% is action. 2) Determine your LEVERAGE, ask yourself what I hold in my personal beliefs about myself that is holding me back of achieving my goals. Examine the consequences of what can or will happen if I don't achieve my goals, this is your Leverage which will force you to change your beliefs and force you to take the massive action required to achieve your goals. 3) Set a STRATEGY to do something that will allow you to achieve your goals and then take massive action, if this works, great , if not change your approach (strategy) to something different and do it again, keep changing your approach (strategy) until you achieve your desired outcome. 4) Tracking and Measuring - Track and Measure your success, have you achieved the desired outcome, yes?? move onto the next goal, No? go back to Step 3 and do it again. 5) Expand Your Psychology - Examine your Internal Limiting Beliefs. As the question What do I need to believe about myself to make the changes necessary to get what I want out of life?? 6) Accountability - Need to make you accountable to yourself to make the necessary changes. Ask the questions and then take massive action to force change. -
Facebook and Posts / Pictures Depicting Violence Against Women
skydiver604 replied to skydiver604's topic in Speakers Corner
Really??? About 5 years ago in Canada 1 in 5 women were subjected to some form of physical or sexual violence, source http://www.cdc.gov/ViolencePrevention/pdf/sv-datasheet-a.pdf.. Give me some time and I'll post the sources. Not sure what it is in the US. we all have a wife, girlfriend, sister, daughter or female friends. this affects all of us and you call it retarded?? Edited to include Canadian study, Unable to locate source for 1 in 2 so I've removed that statistic from my post. Facebook and Posts / Pictures Depicting Violence Against Women
skydiver604 replied to skydiver604's topic in Speakers Corner
This in the news today. After years of Facebook turning a blind eye to posts that include speech or images that encourage and make light of violence against women, a viral campaign has emerged demanding changes in Facebook moderator policies and procedures. Feminist activist group Women Action Media have collected numerous examples of highly graphic and disturbing images depicted violence against women posted on Facebook, many of which the group claims Facebook has refused to remove. A WAM spokesperson noted, "many of these images passed Facebook moderation — that is, they were reported as violating Facebook standards, and Facebook declined to take them down. Some of them came down later when media stories highlighted specific pages. Some of them are still live on Facebook." Last Tuesday a letter - written by Jaclyn Friedman, executive director of WAM (Women, Action, & the Media), Laura Bates, founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, and Soraya Chemaly, a feminist writer and activist - was posted on WAM's website, demanding Facebook take immediate action on “pages and images that explicitly condone or encourage rape or domestic violence or suggest that they are something to laugh or boast about.” The campaign has sparked the Twitter hashtag #FBRape and a Change.org petition demanding that Facebook remove pages that promote sexual violence has attracted more than 200,000 signatures. As of Friday afternoon, seven companies -- including the Nissan UK unit of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and the privately held WestHost -- have pulled their advertising from Facebook, and others, including the Zipcar unit of Avis Budget Group Inc., are investigating the matter. Activists have also noted that images of educationally important images of women breastfeeding are often removed from Facebook for allegedly violating Facebook’s nudity guidelines, while photos of battered women and girls remain online due to Facebook's refusal to respond. Facebook has responded to the campaign: ""As you may expect in any diverse community of more than a billion people, we occasionally see people post distasteful or disturbing content, or make crude attempts at humor. While it may be vulgar and offensive, distasteful content on its own does not violate our policies." Members of the #FBRape campaign have responded by stating "there's nothing funny about violence against women." http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/27/activists-demand-facebook-remove-posts-depicting-violence-against-women Warning The link below is the WAM website that contains examples of Facebook postings showing violent acts against women http://www.womenactionmedia.org/examples-of-gender-based-hate-speech-on-facebook/ Disgusting!!! 3) Never try and stoke the bonfire by throwing in a gallon of Jet-A fuel. Never try to Jump Over the fire - Ever. +1000 AVGAS is a lot worse than Jet A fuel, specially if you're using it to start the fire, you're hammered and it takes a few minutes to get your lighter to work = very large ball of flame = no eyelashes, no eyebrows and no nose hairs. This guy had no clue, obviously not a Star trek or a Back to The Future fan, eventually sold the car to an old dude that was driving an 86 Park Avenue. "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo

A few years ago I was selling 4 snow tires off a Sunfire I scrapped, had some dude email me from Saudi Arabia wanting to buy them. Just a few years ago we sold our Impala, got an email from Nigeria requesting to buy the car, one of the questions the buyer asked was how well the car ran, I emailed him back saying my mechanic Marty McFly advised me the flux capacitor needed to be replaced and the chief mechanic Mr Scott needed to adjust the warp drive engine, he emailed me back asking if I would deduct the costs of these repairs from the selling price. yes people can change, changes from a positive to a negative are easy to do, require very little effort, change from a negative to a positive is more difficult in that you have to change or reprogram your subconscious thought pattern or behavior which takes an average of 6 to 12 months, this involves consciously practicing and enforcing the positive behavior on a daily basis until it is fully programmed into your subconscious and becomes second nature / automatic. For a more in depth look at this and how it's done do some research on Anthony Robbins "Unleash the Power Within"

Canopy Collision video (thankfully non fatal)
skydiver604 replied to Fallcoholic's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So you've never been on a jump where it's good when you take off and turned to shit when you've reached altitude and are on jump run?, I have been on loads where the winds were light and variable out of the north when we took off and out of the east or west gusting 15 - 20 by the time we're on jump run and the DZO radios this to the pilot.I've also been on loads where it was cloudy but jumpable and by the time we've reached altitude you can't see shit. It doesn't happen very often but it does happen, As for the wall of text learn how to fucking read, i find it fucking hilarious watching the 100 jump wonder noobs argue cameras and everything under the sun with the old bitties who have seen it all and heard it all and are a wealth of knowledge that new jumpers can learn from. In case you can't read let me explain, you learn more by listening than you do when your talking Edited to add if compromising safety is wimping out then I'm glad I don't jump where you jump. That's the way I was taught, as soon as your canopy deploys grab rear risers and check for other traffic, use rear riser turns for collision avoidance, every single instructor or coach that I've dealt have used that scenario. Canopy Collision video (thankfully non fatal)
skydiver604 replied to Fallcoholic's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Why take a new pass 2000 feet lower? The clouds was at ~3500-5000 feet, and making a pass that is still higher than the clouds would do what? See the clouds from a new angle and little closer? Those clouds look big and wet and would not go away in the extra 5 min flighttime to drop 2000 feet. Why not?? the ac has to drop altitude anyways, if there is an opprtunity to make a jump SAFELY at a lower altitude below the clouds then why waste all the Jet A1 burned already,,,and I do emphasize SAFELY, if the cloud base is below a safe jump altitude then buckle up and relax for the ride down. After seeing the video I would not have jumped, the first clue "I can't see shit" was enough for me, what transpired after that was a comedy of errors that could have killed both jumpers in the video. I've rode the plane down before because I didn't like the conditions and will do it again. One of the things I like about the DZ I jump at is if you fuck the jump and the DZO sees it or finds out about it you can be guaranteed that you'll hear about it and it won't be sugar coated and it won't be pretty and that's the way it should be. and to the fellow noobs posting on this site try reading more whats posted and thinking about what you read and if you have questions ask your instructors, watching the noobs here argue with the "old bitties" is like watching a 100 hour solo private pilot argue with Chuck Yeager how to fly airplanes, My old man used to tell me "STFU and listen , ya don't learn anything when your mouth is flapping". IMO the biggest mistake this guy made was, when the spotter said "I can't see shit!", not sitting his ass down and either taking the ride down or asking the pilot for another pass 1500-2000 ft lower. I'm always getting told that the only person responsible for my safety is ME and to my mind that means that if I'm not happy with the spot or the weather conditions then I don't jump. best post yet "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo -

Holy shit that looks bad, injured livestock can really be expensive both in vet bills and costs of putting an animal down, not mention the cost of the gear that's been dragged plus injuries to the ground launcher being dragged. Years ago when I owned my horse the vet charged $60 just to show up plus $60 an hour plus supllies, radiographs etc, not good all around. Caring for injured horses and large animals is also time consuming, I remember when Sabre has a bowed tendon, 5 weeeks 2x a day , icing, heating and wrapping the leg (everyday),,,I don't blame this woman one bit for being pissed "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo -

U.S. inmates hide pig in official police car decal
skydiver604 replied to skydiver604's topic in The Bonfire
http://www.torontosun.com/2012/02/03/us-inmates-hide-pig-in-official-police-car-decal Score one for the inmates Inmates working at a correctional unit’s print shop in Vermont sneaked a prank image of a pig into a state police crest that is emblazoned on police cars, and 30 cruisers sported the design for the last year, according to officials. The official crest depicts a spotted cow against a background of snowy mountains, but the inmates’ version featured one of the cow’s spots shaped like a pig in an apparent reference to the pejorative word for police, state police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro said. “It dishonors the memory of those past and present members, especially for those who have lost their lives in the line of duty,” Dasaro said. Vermont contracts with correctional facilities employing prisoners to make some print products, including the cruiser decals. Police said someone who works at the print shop changed the emblem from the officially sanctioned design. A police employee noticed the prank on Wednesday and reported it. Police said the 60 door decals would be removed as soon as it was practical. The “source and timing” of the change to the design is under investigation, Dasaro said. “While some may find humor in the decal modifications, the joke unfortunately comes at the expense of the taxpayers,” Police Major Bill Sheets said in a statement. +1 It's amazing the number of AAD, OCD psychotic Nazi egotitical incompetent morons there is out there moving up the corporate ladder. And once they are there and you're reporting to them you're pretty much fucked. I worked for a tier 1 auto parts manufacturer, my boss was the plant manager who only got the job because he was the only one working the line that would take the position, this guy was AAD, OCD and just a fucking nutbar, We were severely understaffed and had a temp work force with a turnover rate of 400% per month, i made it a point to only work 50 hours a week just so I would have a family life, that lasted about 3 weeks, fucker wrote me up for getting behind on my work, then about a month later we had a HUGE quality issue at the Lexus plant, being the only Quality Control person I worked about 30 hours straight to get the problem fixed and ensure the Lexus plant had good parts, fucker wrote me up for working too many hours, within 6 months I was working 80 hours a week and this cocksucker pushed for more telling me "i needed to work on my time management skills" wasn't long after that I resigned then staarted looking for a new job,,,,,,my point,,,,take the job, as Confucious say it is better to be pissed off than pissed on "The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." - Michelangelo
