This didn't happen to me but... Years ago, a real good buddy of mine was home from the Navy. It was Thanksgiving. Family and friends gathered around the table for the usual turkey dinner. As he passed the green-beans he just barked-out; "Somebody, pass the 'bull-fuck (gravy)"! He told me later, he coulda' crawled under the rug and never made a lump in it! Chuck

An addition to my list (above): I would like to see NASCAR do away with restrictor plates in '06! I would like to see Jeff Gordon make a 'come-back'. I would like to see the Houston Astros win the world series. Now, that all the 'hexes' in baseball seem to be broken, it's time for the Astros! I'll think of some more things and post them, later. _______________________________________ That, is a pretty cool out look! Here's my spin on your list... I just want to wake-up in the morning. I want to love myself too and a Hooters girl wouldn't hurt the equasion! Don't tell my wife, I said that! I'll take healthy and wise. Wealthy, I'm not so sure about. Somebody will just try to get it from me! I'm with you! I don't want to lose my sense of humour either. I would like to see the American people 'lighten-up' a little and quit taking themselves so serious. We need to laugh a little at ourselves once in awhile! I want to be open to people also. I'm still gonna keep my hand on my wallet! O.K., I gotta agree with this one 100% about all the folks here! I agree also with your last one. I feel, things happen to us for a reason. It's how we deal with it, that makes us what we are. While we're at it, I wish you and all the folks here a great New Year and looking forward to seeing everyone here in '06. Y'all be safe! ...and, keep all our troops in your prayers! Chuck

The response, "the other guys do worse" is never a good one to me. It does not matter WHAT he did. In America, people get charged with a crime and a fair trial. If he was a terrorist, let the government prosecute him as such and let a jury convict him as such. he should not, under any circumstances, be squirelled away without that. It is not the way America was meant to be and it is not the way America should be. We stand for justice and freedom and yet we do things like this. It seems to be just a tad hypocritical Just because "they" would treat him worse does not make our treatment correct. Being treated humanely is not the same as being treated fairly. And it does not matter to me if it was done to other people or not in the past. Conforming to the status quo does not makes something right...no matter how people want to spin it. __________________________________________ I think you're right. I don't believe we should treat prisoners in-humanely or 'like the other guys' but, I can't see putting them up in a Hilton either. What I'm trying to say is, 'if' this guy is to be tried in a court, it doesn't matter to me, which one... get him in a courtroom. We've been holding him too long. Isn't there something about a 'speedy' trial? I don't agree either with treating those who threaten the well being of this country with 'kid gloves'. I agree also with the fact there is a difference between being firm and brutality. Somebody 'in charge', needs to make a decision and get the ball rollin'. Chuck

Well that is just because Jack in the Box... sucks my balls. __________________________________________ After all this talk here, about blowin'-up the Jack in the Box... I wished I'd seen that! Chuck

_______________________________________ I know, you're a greenie and all (I'm just trying to show respect here) but, the original Disney full-lentgh feature (animated) of 'Peter Pan', Peter Pan was a boy. The first stage play was with Mary Martin as Peter Pan. Since then, the part has been played by girls. With a little androgeny thrown in. Chuck

If she thinks she's getting coded signals from the TV, she's probably schizophrenic, or at the very least, prone to psychotic breaks. So there doesn't seem to be much blame to assign there. The judge, however, needs to have his head examined. What he did in signing the TRO is inexcusable, and as I said above, he should be removed from the bench. rl _____________________________________ Aw yeah! I agree, that judge should also be fitted! So what happens to you, if your neighbor, who is pissed off at you for who knows what, rats you out to the Feds for talking about a dirty bomb - even though you've done nothing of the sort ? Would it make any difference if you were being "treated humanely" (big laugh) after you disappeared ? To say Padilla would disappear into an unmarked grave anywhere else in the world, even admitting it's probably true, misses the point. The point is this is America, we don't do this to our own people. Because if we do it to anyone, we can do it to YOU, or even worse, to ME. And then we're not America anymore, so what's left to defend ? We've got through Civil War and two World Wars, plus a Cold War that came within hours of a nuclear exchange. Our system works. Timothy McVeigh is a perfect example of the system working. I'm NOT saying Padilla is innocent. I really don't know and the truth is the way the government has treated him makes me wonder, because I do NOT trust the government - and nobody should ever trust the government in a free society. Because free societies are ONLY free because they place LIMITS on what the government can do. Otherwise we're like all the rest and there won't be any difference between us and them. That's the way it was in Orwell's 1984 - three powers that were all the same, none of them cared, so long as they could keep the war going without end, nobody winning or losing, just the whole world under iron fisted control. Fuck that, put Padilla on trial or let him go. __________________________________ I re-read what I wrote and left a big word out... 'IF' . At any rate, you are absolutely correct in what you say. That is the wonderful part of living in the U.S A. Chuck

From what I read in the article, it's not even PC or liberal. It's just plain dumbfuck corporate marketing. You know, the same assholes who tried fucking with Coca Cola twenty years ago, decided it was time for a "new Coke". They got their asses wiped and had to bring back the real thing in just a few months, only rather than admit they'd had their asses kicked, they called the real stuff "Classic Coke". Disney has gone down the shitter ever since Walt died. It's being run by evil bean counters, who think nothing of vandalizing a piece of great children's literature if they can boost shareholder return by 2.13 cents. I hope it blows up in their faces and the whole company goes down the tubes because Disney SUCKS. _____________________________________ Whatever it is they are doing and whatever anyone wants to call it, you're right... it's stupid and yup, Disney sucks! That thing with Coca Cola, was all about sugar! They used to use granulated cane sugar. The cost of cane sugar was getting higher than a cat's back. On the other hand, corn syrup was cheap. Their world famous marketing scheme was born! They were going on the 'memory' of our taste buds. Never once, was sugar mentioned. Just that they were coming-out with a 'new and improved' Coke. Well, the public wanted 'The Real Thing'! So, they kinda sorta brought Real Coke back. The only difference was the 'Original Coke', now had corn syrup as the main sweetener and not cane sugar. Now, you know the ... Edit to add: That marketing move has been lauded as pure genius by those who know. Actually, Coke pulled the wool over the eyes of it's consumers! Chuck

Unless you're a goalie then you ALWAYS play the puck. Guess which one I am ________________________________________ In the 'new' NHL, the goalie can play the puck in that little trapezoidal area behind the net. Which means... he's very limited. I can dig it. Chuck

All we need to do is compare the due process given to the convicted American terrorist Timothy McVeigh. After being arrested and CHARGED with bombing the Federal Building in Oklahoma City, and with the murder of hundreds of people therein, McVeigh was put on TRIAL before a JURY OF HIS PEERS. He was furthermore given vigorous and diligent LEGAL COUNSEL who worked very hard in his DEFENSE. The jury found him guilty based on the EVIDENCE and recommended a death sentence, which the judge gave him. Even then, DEFENSE COUNSEL vigorously APPEALED the death sentence, right down to the last hours. And in the end, Tim got the NEEDLE. There's no reason why Padillo can't be charged and tried with whatever it is they think he was up to. It's just that BUSH is more scared of our Constitutional freedoms than the very enemies he raves about. And yes, this is also a Bush bashing. I like it, it's fun, the guy's a fucking retard... _________________________________________ From reading both news articles, I don't care if the military tries him or a civilian court tries him. He needs to be tried for terrorism against the United States. The guy was in cahoots with terrorist factions and conspired to set-off a 'dirty bomb'. He's a terrorist and should be treated like one. How much of that kind of crap do we have to put up with. This guy isn't being treated badly. What if, it was the other way around and he conspired against the terrorists and they caught him? He would've been dead by now. More than likely, no hearing, no trial... nothing. Chuck
