Let Your Life Be a Counter-Friction to Stop the Machine
masterrig replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
As criminals up the arms ante, the police must respond in kind. I'd sooner see over armed cops (if that's truly possible) and dozens of dead criminals versus under-equipped/armed police and even one dead Cop... I agree!!! My wife retired from law enforcement after 25-yrs service. Over time, I got to know law enforcement officers of various degrees. Many of them voiced the opinion they were 'under armed' in comparison to the 'bad guys'. If, we are going to have law enforcement, let's at least get them on an even plane with the bad guys as far as armament. This bull-shit idea that our law enforcement officers don't need better fire-power is just that... bull-shit! I know, there are a lot of folks who feel we don't need police but I don't believe I'd want to see that. Chuck The firearms are just tools. A sidearm is good up close and personal, but not so good for range. The shotgun with 00 wouldn't be such a good idea where there's a potential for bystanders to get injured. The assault rifle adds good range and more surgical precision to the package. It's all about the right tool for the job. There ya' go! You can't do the job if you don't have the right tools. Chuck -

When my wife was in law enforcement, her department was going to go to 9mm semi-autos. She didn't want to give-up her .357 wheel-gun! I told her I didn't see the sense in a 9mm so I got her a 40-cal. Glock. Her dept. approved it and she loves that pistol. Not to mention, she's scarey good with it. Chuck -

A young fella brought his girlfriend home to meet his folks. He announces that this girl is the love of his life and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Dad calls him aside and says; "Don't tell your mother but your girlfriend is your half sister!" The young man was shattered. A few months later, the young man brings his new girlfriend home to meet his folks and announces that this is the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Again, dad calls him aside and says; "Don't tell your mother but your girlfriend is your half sister!" Again, the young man is crushed. Time goes by and the young man meets a sweet little red-head and immediately falls head over heels for her. He thinks to himself that this time this girl will really be the one. He brings the girl home to meet his folks. Once again, dad informs him she too, is his half sister. The young fella gets really upset and tells his mother what his dad has informed him of with his last three girlfriends. Mom says; "Don't pay any attention to him... you two aren't related anyhow!" Pul-eeze.......! You're not inferring that DD should clean up his own poverty stricken, people living on boats in a sewer stream, backyard before venturing on to chastise others? There is a difference between hating poor people and benignly exploiting them. Keep in mind that monarchy's historically take a very dim view of political/social activ......... never mind. It's easier for some people to bitch about someone else's back yard while ignoring their own. Keeps the flack off of them while putting the attention on someone else. I think, that's what dreamweaver is doing. Chuck

Wall Street protesters to occupy foreclosed homes
masterrig replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Good for Oakland! You bet! That's where those germs belong! Chuck your dehumanisation of people is disturbing. along with your fascination with 'hispanic' gangs. reveals a lot... I call 'em like I see 'em! Those folks aren't acting human and without logic. More like parasites on our society. As for the Hispanic gangs, I don't know where you get the idea I have a 'fascination' with them. Far from it. They are a definate threat to our security here in the U.S. If, you'd do just a little research into the subject, you'd see what I'm talking about. I find your obsession and support of the 'occupiers' disturbing! Chuck -

Let Your Life Be a Counter-Friction to Stop the Machine

Yes, they did. The responding officers were armed only with .38 revolvers and 9mm pistols and a shotgun, none of which were unable to penetrate the robbers' armor. They borrowed AR15s from a local gunshop and, along with SWAT officers armed with M16s, were able to effectively engage the robbers and end the shootout. Thank you, for that! Chuck -
Texas mostly because of Rick Perry. What an igmo. He makes me physically sick. He can't be too big of an idiot. He's drawing his paycheck as governor as well as full retirement all while living in a snitzy house paid for by the Texas tax-payers. He knows how to play the system real good. Chuck

I'm not clear on this but didn't the L.A.PD get some better fire power from a near-by gun store because their issued weapons just didn't match-up to what the robbers had? Help me on this. Chuck -
It's pretty simple, and obvious to anyone that's had a job with on call responsibilities. When a medic is on call, he or she does not get drunk. A drunk medic is not the savior you think. Same applies to me - I get paid for this time on call and it would be unprofessional to be in a state where I could cost the company millions. And spies on call to find bombs? You watch 24 a lot? Let's get back to the real world, where drunk driving kills tens of thousands of Americans each year. If the spy is that important, he can take a taxi. he can take a taxi - but lose valuable, critical time (ooops i'm into 24 hours land) that bomb goes off... hey, what about my churchill example - should he have been removed from office? Lemme ask you this. I want a straight answer. No beating around the bush, no hedging, just a straight-up honest answer. You up for it? Here goes... Would you honestly want a drunk EMT or doctor working on you if, you were in a wreck? Chuck i'd rather have a drunk one (and there are varying degrees of drunkenness) helping me than no-one at all... Good luck with that! ... Perhaps you'd like a drunk rigger to I&R your reserve? Chuck

Must be a realy good game if, you're thinkin' about nekkid wimmin! Chuck

and now if the guy/gal is a medic/intelligence officer who has been called to an emergency where dozens are about to lose their lives - do the police arrest the 'drunk' or escort them to the scene of the emergency... horses for courses... Arrest him The same incapabilites exist at an acident site too The 'medic' knew they had been drinking and should not respond to a call. I don't care if it's one beer! They show-up at an accident scene smelling of booze, treat them like anyone else. Chuck Chuck

i refer you to the answer i gave billvon... You didn't give an answer. You started adding nonsense conditions. Plain english, do you think it should be illegal to drive drunk, yes or no? If yes, why? What harm have they done? Should it be illegal to drive faster than the posted speed limit? Should it be illegal to run a red light? Should it be illegal to carry a concealed weapon? What harm have they done? I get the impression from what he has hinted at is, 'anything goes... as long as noone gets hurt and you don't get caught!? Chuck

out here in the real world, full transparency isn't a great thing. How muddled would our diplomacy be if every involved person's opinion were openly stated? It's no different in corporate or social settings - you hash out decisions in private, and then you release the final decision. Not the process for making the sausage. You remind me of RMS and his notion that all knowledge should be open and free. Nice fantasy world. Exactly! Chuck
