I forgot about that. Chuck

So if you were a citizen in North Korea, you wouldn't want someone to depose your leader so that you and all of your countrymen could live in freedom and prosperity like the rest of the world? That wasn't his proposition. He's talking about "from the outside looking in"; while you're asking him about "from the inside looking out". Two very different things. i don't think he can do 'outside looking in'... How arrogant and condescending of you! Chuck

George Carlin called it "prick waving". Chuck

...and your forecasting is full of shit. Iran wouldn't dare blockade the strait. They would not have the support of OPEC and the US and other consumer nations would annihilate their navy in hours. It would be just another hiccup in the oil markets. And sort of actual war would be far less clean and clear. Just another 'excuse' for gasoline producers in this country to raise prices at the pumps? Chuck

and i answered in the next post. still waiting for his answer though... Except you didn't. Your "answers" were evasions, not responsive answers to the question posed. As usual for you. Whatever, man; you're a known quantity here. Some are willing to play your game; others are not. That's all anyone is going to get out of him. He's kinda' like a 'horse-fly'... just buzzes around and aggrivates the shit out of you. He argues like a third grader and averyone falls for it. I don't understand. Chuck

didn't get an answer the last time you used the 'i'll answer your question if you answer mine' so not wandering there again. would you have wanted a janese leaker warning us of pearl harbour? millions of lives could have been saved. no hiroshima... Oh, Good God! Chuck I guess he is ignoring the Japanese Emperor and his quest, prior to Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was an attempt at keeping the US from stepping in to aid the rest of the Pacific against Japan, they did not think we would rebuild fast enough and thought we would be to wounded to want to fight, oops! Matt Thirteen Pacific Invasions changed their tune. Chuck

OMG! California police officers have assault weapons!

Why not! The bad guys got 'em! Chuck -
That's the difference that some of these folks don't "get". he might have been dead but millions of lives would have been saved... You can 'what if', till you're blue in the face but that does NOT change history... you can't do it. The Japanese wanted full control of the Pacific. They were trying everything they had. War is war and sadly, lives get lost. That's the price ya' pay. stir,stir,stir... Chuck and you can 'what if' about any damage done to the us by manning and wikileaks. so far none has been shown. but lives were definitely saved... I haven't 'what if'd' anything about Manning! Nice try... keep diggin. You remind me of a horse pawing the ground. They just keep pawing and get absolutely nowhere! Chuck

I recall the movie “Spies Like Us” where Millbarge is on the phone with Ruby angrily asking for information. Ruby said: “We give out information on a need to know basis, and at this point in time you do not need to know.” I think, that could've been it. Thanks! At my age, I can't rely on memory. Chuck

In the military, and intell communities that is called "need to know". As long as the ultimate goal remains to keep US safe, and kill enemies of the US, then I say have at it. The US sure as hell can't depend on any other nation to carry the ball. I can't for the life of me recall the movie but a young officer tells an Intel Chief that he was 'on a need to know basis!' the Chief responded with; "You don't need to know SHIT!" Chuck EXACTLY RIGHT....! 99% of people couldn't understand G2 reports if they fell from the sky, landed on their faces and started to wiggle. To me, anyone wanting to have that kind of information at their disposal, totally lacks common sense. It's just nuts! Chuck Very true.... Knowing what one's government is up to is fine. To be an educated voter is every citizens duty. What does the average person want a 100 page Bomb Damage Assessment (BDA) for. A coffee table book? No "need to know"............. You're right... they wouldn't understand it. Just more arrogance. Chuck

You and Kennedy beat me to those questions. Something I'd like to know too is... What are hayes, dreamdancer and all the others who just have to see all our 'secrets' laid-out for the world to see, going to do with the information? I guess, they just cannot see what the end result would be. Never will either. Chuck

Thats exactly right! I have never been able to hold a grudge. I might get pissed at someone but it doesn't last long. I'm gonna hear it for my next statement but... Of course, property values go up! They have a great eye for decorating! Chuck

Actually the whole point of the thread was that he did NO damage. And here we go again - he's a traitor, he let out secrets, he's a treasonist, people got harmed, whatever. So far NO ONE, not anyone, has put forth once ounce of harm done by Bradley Manning you can repeat that over and over again - maybe you'll eventually even believe it. But it's provably false. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactions_to_the_United_States_diplomatic_cables_leak If he had released selected documents like the helicopter video, then maybe you have a case to make that he was being a patriot and revealing illegal or improper actions. But when he dumped out a quarter million private documents on diplomatic action, no, he was just taking a shit on our country. This is an attention whore, not a patriot. Like I said, it's easier to argue that he did not get aid to the enemy then to claim he didn't release secret information. And sorry, you can't successfully argue that it didn't cause damage. From quotes I've read from Manning, in e-mails to a 'friend', he obviously had 'second thoughts' about releasing the information he did in fact release. Manning knew better!!! He chose to release them, knowing he would gain attention. The guy was (is) depressed. As I've posted earlier, his relations with his family, the Army and his boyfriend were in the crapper. As you stated, he flat-out shit on his country and everything else in his life. All for the attention it would get him. It's that old saying; 'If, you're gonna play, you gotta pay.' He brought all this on himself. The sad part is, he knew better! Chuck

In thinking back, my 'big brother' was a bit flamboyant. Much like Carson Cressley. Like I said, I was green as a gourd. He was really a cool guy. I guess, out of knowing him, I learned that gay men weren't some strange creature to be afraid of. Where I live now, there are two gay men who are on the volunteer fire dept. and help folks in need. Really good guys! Chuck

Your living in the San Diego area, surely you've heard the term 'swab jockey'!? Chuck
