I'm curious what you think the advantages are of S/L over AFF? S/L lacks the freefall experience....Both can teach spotting early on....other than that I've never put much thought in comparing the two and assumed AFF would be a better learning method. Why do you say otherwise? Edjumuhkate me. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

No I cannot say I have an alternate solution at all. Even though I don't agree with restrictions and regulations...given that there is no way to stop an idiot from hurting/killing themself on a canopy they should not be under....yes something should be done. Out of curiousity what is the % increase over the last few years in deaths (not injuries) that are directly due to lack of skill coupled with too high of performance of canopy? Another thought: Wouldn't these measures also require for each canopy to be categorized by it's performance and variations depending on wingloading? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Ahhh...nothing like a tropical sun shower...Looks if it came down any harder you'd be building an ark out of those C130's. Good luck. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Has Farmer made it out to CSC yet? If so make the drive out to him, he'll get it done for you by then. Best rigger in the state. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Rig ??? Should I buy new or used?
JJohnson replied to jumpinfarmer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Unless you got cash you have not seen yet, get yourself a nice used rig. That way you won't feel so bad beating it up with bad landings and other mistakes I hope you never make. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -
Which is of course argued with the thought that the two canopies will not play well together, so cut the main away before they entangle themselves... From personal experience, when I had two out, they came together nicely...front to back. I let stay there and hung out until we found a nice patch of cornfield to land in. Not a scenario I would ever care to repeat. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

I've got to agree. I only demo-ed one Sam 120 and the opening could only be described as super fast yet strangely soft as the prom queen's thighs. When it started to open I thought it was going to ring my bell, I was pleasently suprised. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

I'd love for you to be able to legally walk around with those obscene breats out...heck, break the law, we won't tell! JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Looks goofy?? Check out Marco in Antigravity when he's dancing with the Porter....Goofy is not the word I'd use to describe him. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

You and me both brother. 5 foot 4 inches at 170lbs....I ain't found many fall rates I couldn't keep up with. If I shed every pound of bodyfat I might get down to 160. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

You are so cool (ugly as sin though).....I'm so jealous. Good luck to you all. In the midst of all that awesome activity you still find the hot plane to complain about....it's a small price to pay for the experience. Take care William. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

By the same token, booties will give you a false sense of how much you are extending your legs while trying to get big to slow down. Watch someone outside a big way trying to catch air and come back up to it. They think those legs are out there...but because the booties are catching air, they feel like they are getting as big as possible....and they are not. I like booties, but don't care if I got them or not. I think they offer the biggest advantage in trackling and turns. When I'm feeling short for my weight, so to speak....having a concentrated field of gravity, I break out mu thick and baggy suit. Then I can fall like a regular person. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Easy: 1) You are responsible for where you get out. Unless there is an emergency dictating immediate departure, you are fully capable of calling for a correction. Not sure which theory and practice you are refering to. If under a canopy under a bad spot, I hope you realized before you got under canopy, you should have. Start looking for your outs, regardless of the walk back. I have been off field by miles on cross countries when winds have dies down, gotten out of planes stupidly without looking where we were....don't matter. You look for the best option you have and deal with it. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

And the exit altitude will be 35K? or 50K? With FF having fallrates so much faster than RW, I doubt the formations will be that large..unless you get more time...but it would make for some cool video. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

And then beat his ass....in fact hold him in a remote farm and charge a $1 a shot to hit him with a plastic baseball bat. A slow death by blunt instrument trauma. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Have you ever landed inside the plane?
JJohnson replied to mazevedo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thus far I have never needed to stay in the elevator and have always been able to get out at my desired floor. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -
I hate seeing this crap, we all know the risk.
JJohnson replied to ChileRelleno's topic in The Bonfire
With any sort of awarded amount you can bet the case will be appealed. Awarding something like the amount is real dumb, as you know the person/company that is supposed to pay it will simply declare bankruptcy and nobody gets anything. It is a sad state of affairs, but George won't end up paying that. He might close his doors....time will tell. Rubio is still a dumbfucker for doing this. He knew the risks and now wants someone else to pay for his error. Lowlife. And fuck his worm lawyer as well. JJ "Call me Darth Balls" -

She's got enough cash to hire a few cooks and packers.....and buy the DZ to boot. For that I'd be willing to marry her for awhile. Just so long as I had a prenup stating I don't have to actually have to try and make intellectual conversation with her....and that if we split she can't have my rig. JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

> I love my Stiletto a little more than a man really should< Are you going to have to explain any strange stains or spots on the canopy when you go to sell it??? JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
