Absolutely agree with Darkwind. I had a back injury a while ago (before I started skydiving) and my arch was sloppy from the very beginning. When I started to wear weights, I realized that it helps to fall faster but I tend to fly even more de-arched. You have to make sure that you are still in the middle of you dynamic range when wear led.

Canopy control class with Scott Miller was a highlight of the weekend.

My regular Sabre loaded about 1.3. P.S: One of the major concerns that people express about night jumps is loosing a main in case of malfunction and cutaway. I recently talked to one of my buddies and he had this idea about having some kind of bug transmitting a radio signals hooked to main canopy. Such device should help to find a chopped main. It would be interesting to know what dz.com community think about it.

I started last year (graduated AFF end of May) and now only have 270 jumps. Not a lot

I never thought about this before we started to launch 8-way chunks (5 people out, 3 people in) from Otter. When the outside center gets into position, the lower portion of his rig aims directly into my reserve handle. Obviously, the only way to minimize the chances of premature reserve deployment is to protect the handle with left wrist or elbow. However, by doing this before taking a grip I take extra few seconds and also create some movement that makes the life of the person behind me more difficult (right, Rob?)). I think a soft reserve handle would be more secure and comfortable in this situation. Just my 2 cents

I am having some weird problems with dz.com e-mail account. For whatever reason I cannot send a group mail to more than six people at the same time Is it a new dz.com policy or I simply screwed some personal e-mails settings? Can someone explain please? Thanks in advance

I like to watch it since turning your head helps to clear up the burble (as was already discussed). It is also nice to know that PC is not towing and the bag left the container next second after you pitch. I also believe that head up body position lessens the chances of neck injuries if your canopy opens fast. Of course, it is important to maintain symmetrical position of the rest of your body in order to prevent line twists and other unpleasant consequences of bad body position.

I do not mean to show any disrespect (especially after looking at your profile) but your post surprised me a little. I have been jumping with very new 8-way team (coached by very experienced and talented people) since January. I don think we would make so much progress after only several training camps if we did not have great coaching combined with video on absolutely every jump.

Thanks again! Anybody else?

Hello everybody! I plan to start a 4-way RW team next season and now try to learn as much as possible about team dynamics and organization staff. After consulting with several experienced RW folks, I realized that one of the most difficult issues is finding a good cameraman. Obviously there are two extreme cases: 1) very experienced cameraman who charges a good price for the good consistent videos 2) a beginner who wants to learn or improve camera flying skills and therefore charging less or not charging at all. Both have some advantages and disadvantages and we are not sure what would be an ideal case for new team planning to make around 200 training jumps per season. I would really appreciate some advice from DZ.com people who currently jump or train RW teams. Thanks in advance!

Dude, check out the profile of the person you are arguing with. Listening more to people like Ron before screaming to the whole world that we know a lot will probably help people like us to become old skydivers.

At what altitude do you go directly to the silver handle.
Mad47 replied to d604's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Never happened to me yet but I would go straight to reserve if I'm below 1.5K to avoid the possibility of two out due to CYPRES fire as well as finding myself with malfunctioning main below the hard deck. However, I think that decision at what altitude to go straight to silver must depend on opening speed of main, type and calibration of AAD (if any), geographical factor (as was already mentioned) and experience. -
Wrong answer (no offence please). Proper body position in a flat track creates more lift that a stable belly to earth arch. Therefore, the vertical speed in flat track is slower!

first 3 way - matching fall rates - need advice please
Mad47 replied to Newbie's topic in Relative Work
...the others already tracked off at around 6000 ft because they didn't think they'd make it :) One should always stay with skydive and try to get in until the very last moment of RW. Tracking off higher than pre-planned break off altitude is a very bad idea not only because you will probably be blamed by people you jump with for doing so, but also because it is unsafe.
