ahh you will need to download a dvd ripper program so that you can copy the video off of the DVD. As long as it gets copied into a raw avi format you should be able to make use of it in Windows Movie Maker. I am assuming these are on DVD?? right?

What format are they in?

Do you prefer a one piece jumpsuit or two piece for freefly?
beowulf replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
I prefer the one piece. It's just easier to deal with. On a two piece the top can ride up and bunch up around the back. -

you got that right John. She was a bright light around Skydive Dallas. Everyone will miss her. I don't have any pictures of her, but I do have video of her on a freefly jump that I will upload as soon as I get a chance. She was a very talented skydiver. I am going to miss her. -

Those paraphrases are from The Art of War by Sun Tzu. It was written more then 2000 years ago. Politicians never learn. -
Oh um same thing I did last weekend. Skydive Fewer and fewer people are asking me this question anymore. Instead of that now on Mondays they ask how many jumps I did over the weekend. I like that question better. It is cool that most of the people I work with are intrigued by skydiving, but not interested in doing it themselves. Oh well. This is much better then some of the other jobs I have held before. So what are you doing this weekend?

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
beowulf replied to gjhdiver's topic in Speakers Corner
ha ha Would the genuine Christian please stand up! Every person that calls themselves christian would stand up. Each one has their own definition of what a genuine christian is and they all base it on their own interpretation of the bible. They all claim their interpretation to be the only correct one. -
I saw this exhibit in Chicago and I was fascinated by it. I think everyone should go see it.

Last year I did about 240 jumps, this year so far I am ahead of where I was at the same time last year. Currently I am averaging around 30 jumps a month. I don't like to do the math, so I won't. I once told my brother how much I spent a month and all he could think was how nice of a car I could have for that much money per month. A nice new car just wouldnt be as much fun.

Jumping again after a year - scared.

I have read and heard all the arguements for this. I am also a certified scuba diver. There are many more scuba diving participants then skydivers. It really doesent compare. -

You can think what ever you want to think but I find it offensive when you make statements like this to newbies. That is not true or in other words bullshit. It is wrong to make skydiving out to be safer than it actually is. I view what you have said to mean that he shouldn't be afraid. That is totally wrong. Skydiving is very scary for beginners. That is part of the whole challenge. It is very irresponsible for you to imply that he shouldn't be afraid. It is much better to accept the fear and understand the consequences then to make believe that skydiving is safe. -

Being scared is normal. It is okay for you to be scared. It is how you deal with it that is important. There are many ways to deal with fear. When I feel the fear taking over I take a deep breath and accept it and concentrate on what it is I am going to do and try to push through the fear. The worst thing you can do is panic. That will just make everything worse. -

Gitmo detainees entitled to Geneva protections

under which administration was that not the policy?? -
I don't think so. That land should have a government representing all the people there not just Jews. From what I have read that is not what the Jews want at all.
-
the fact that the land was the jews back 2000 years ago does not make it forever theirs.

How Can I Display Photos On 6 LCD's at Events
beowulf replied to base428's topic in Photography and Video
For what you described there are basic dumb terminals that you can buy that are very basic solid state computers that can only connect to a terminal server and thats all they do. They are more for companies that want a computer in very harsh conditions. -

You don't really need any specific hardware. Windows Terminal services allows multiple computers to connect to the server and all run the same software. This is done over a network via TCPIP or RDP or http ... etc depending on your preference. So you will need to setup a small network. For what you have described I would probably just buy a home network router and have that do the DHCP and then setup a Win2k or Win2003 server and install Windows Terminal Service on it. Then install a terminal emulator on however many clients you have(which can be any computer fast enough to run at least Win98 or better). You don't need to publish an application on your terminal server you could just put the all the pictures on the terminal server and then put a shortcut in the desktop directory in the All Users directory. I know it is somewhat complicated for someone who has never done this before. If you lived here in Texas would be able to just show you how to do this instead of trying to explain it over the internet. -

Windows 2003 server and however many dumb terminals you need. Then setup Windows Terminal service on the server. Look it up on the MS website. It would take me awhile to explain how to set it up. -
I copied this from the BBC News here is the clicky for it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5151718.stm It pretty well sums up what I think of that whole mess.

I bought the Optima so that I could use my Neptune as my visual altimiter and still keep the canopy warnings. I tried the guide feature of the canopy warnings and found it to be very annoying. If all I did was swoop it would probably be a very useful tool. Other wise it is just very annoying. Other then that I have been very happy with the Optima. The interface can be a little confusing at first, but it didn't take me very long to figure it out.
