You do know that I was quoting someone else and my statment is way at the bottom? Right? I agree with you it is a silly statement.

I believe such a goal is obtainable. First, recognize each country that has nuclear weapons and those whom are capable of producing such weapons. Second, install groups comprising of persons of each country under the authority of the IAEA in each country that has nuclear ambition to oversee nuclear programs. The IAEA will control nuclear facilities. Each person would have to report to the IAEA and to the UN each day. Reports would be scrutinized for inconsistencies. Persons whose reports that do not jibe would have to answer for what is wrong and that persons country would be fined. Impose consequence to keep people and countries fair. (I know, I know, there are already consequence such as sanctions but, for the most, they are laughable and do very little). Third, any government that trys to secretly develope a weapon would then be dealt with harshly. Each and every person on the planet should have to sign an agreement stating that they are aware of consequences that will occur if their country trys to develope nuclear weapons (the common populations awareness to the problem is what is badly needed to keep a government inline. Educating the unaware will do more than anything. People need energy for everyday life. Let it be known that any country that does not abide and the power grid will be shut down. Let the common people rule their lifes in this regard. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** That is the most unrealistic statment that I have ever read. The enforcement would totally impossible.

I have to agree with you Ron. It's tough to see friends get hurt or die. That part will never get easier. I try not to forget those that I have known that have died and especially those that are injured and still with us but unable to jump.

details! Why let details get in the way of world domination? Just rewrite all the history books and no one will know the difference. Why just think Pinky we could rule world by rewriting all the history books!! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I love that cartoon

The USA should be the only country to have Nukes. That way we can rule the WORLD! Right Pinky? Are you thinking what I am thinking?!

An outstanding article re: Muslim culture clash

In Iraq the fighting seems to be motivated by different groups wanting to control gain control over the country. Those groups are all defined by their religion. examples: Shia, Sunni -
the coffee in my office really sucks. I think it has to do with the water. The water tastes bad so the coffee does too. Oh well as least it is free.

about 4 maybe 5 years ago it snowed here in Dallas other then that it was probably over 10 years. I don't really miss it all that much.

hey you take your chances I take mine. People need to remember AAD's are not 'turn on and forget' devices. They need to be taken into account and anyone that uses one should be fully aware of how they work and there limitations.
-
I use an organic AAD. Namely my left hand.

Nice pictures. It has been a long time since I have been there. Next time I go back to visit I will make sure I stop by there.

from the description of the events it doesn't look like there was enough time for anyone else to intervene.

Did you receive your 10 year tenure award?

Closing loop life span, fuzzy = frayed?
beowulf replied to matt1215's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I like to change mine just before it breaks Ok seriously I change it when it looks pretty worn and it makes me nervous. I don't really have anything specific that shouts out change me. After having done around 800 pack jobs for myself I kinda just know when it just doesn't look right. If you aren't sure just get the most experienced packer you know to take a look at it. -
That is a cool picture. I don't think that I could get that slow in a sit.
-
What was the fall rate and was Eli able to maintain that fall rate in a sit or did drop past the formation?
-
ah ok guess I wasn't using it correctly. Oh well it's still a good product.
-
I think it makes a lot of sense. Nice quote

are you sure we are talking about the same thing? I make use of the canopy alarms where it beeps at set altitudes like 1000' 600' 300' but I don't make use of the guide tones where it beeps faster and faster depending on how fast you are moving under canopy.

That's ok Pilotdave I make for Lara's reluctance to intrude on this Viso thread. Not that I have anything against the Viso, I was planning on buying one instead of the Optima that I bought. I just got impatient and decided to just use my Neptune as a visual altimeter and the Optima for a audible.
