  1. Neat stunt. Better deploy at the right time, or you might find yourself inside your deploying canopy.
  2. Congrats to you! I am sure you will find yourself giving back every once in a while as well. Thats a great feeling too. Question, I must be behind, but what are the required jump numbers to become a coach these days? No reflection on you just noticed your profile with 120 jumps. I thought it was 200 now, and I think that is way to low for coaching. Hope I dont start any stuff by that comment. Again, congrats! and keep it up!
  3. Here ya go Bob, does this help? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2153734#2153734
  4. Press release April 2006 Parachutist & Skydiving Magazine SkyFest, the largest boogie in Texas that “Pays It Skyward” by raising money to support the Jerry Schrimsher Skydiving Scholarship Fund (JSF), is proud to announce the STT (SkyFest Training Tour) established for up coming jumpers. SkyFest and STT are both Trade Marked with Service Marks Pending. SkyFest and The JSF were established after Jerry’s passing (due to a heart attack during main deployment) to continue his efforts in keeping upcoming jumpers in the sport. Jerry believed that coaching programs provide the bridge between student status and becoming an experienced skydiver. He also knew that we needed more skydivers to get involved in coaching. This fund perpetuates the continued training of skydivers, something that Jerry deeply believed in during his forty one years in the sport. The growing attendance during our event has created a demand to assist the newer jumpers in progressing safely to be ready for SkyFest in July from the 12th thru the 17th at Skydive Spaceland. The "B" license requirement to jump our numerous specialty aircraft is causing many upcoming jumpers to miss the opportunity to participate in not only SkyFest events, but those of other boogies as well. We are now offering to those jumpers with a minimum of an "A" license the training they need to advance to the next level and learn much more along the way. There will be stops at different drop zones located in Texas and Georgia. The STT will include canopy control, water training, freefly coaching, and basic RW coaching. Featured names include Scott Miller, TJ Landgren (In-Air Communication) and Team Bling with more to be announced. Slots are limited and will fill quickly. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for the past five years who dedicated their time, money and products to assist us with these events. For more info please go to www.skyfestboogie.com*** I apologize but the web site doesn't have the info yet. Darn publishers were early Our new site will be ready in just a day or two, in the mean time you can go to the events calendar on dropzone.com. Look in April and June for details. Thank you Mod's I hope I did this right.
  5. I only know of one that got locked. I just didnt want to be the one to get blamed for the bonfire list. Skymama is learning me well...
  6. There's a list going in the Bonfire (here). edit to update link Do you think we can get that one shut down and keep the list here? I hear people are pm'ing c spence for info on SF and that aint right chris will tell everyone that they can only make naked jumps...oh wait that may not be sooo bad..
  7. Wendy W. Great! So now what I thought was neat because of the PCA on it, is now a fraud?????? Maybe I should call up USPA and show them that they have an identity crisis. According to this paperwork USPA wasn't around yet? Maybe dad just found it and wrote his name on it... Oh well...huummm
  8. I think I know who the lady is but not sure enough to take a guess but the guy in the background looks like Ron Cox which would place the picture in the Dallas area. Yup thats Ron Cox Sr. and Sherry Schrimsher She cut herself with the POB and thats why her finger is in her mouth. That is the front of the Seagoville Hanger on the concrete. Packing
  9. Oops I just caught that..you tricked me..funny
  10. Being that I was 2 weeks away from having my first birthday I am only guessing. As a kid the normal altitude was 7500, with 12,500 being a "special" event. It took like 45 mins to get there. I was told that they tried that formation a bunch of times and never got it. Ron Cox told me that, that day they drank a bottle of red wine before the jump and got it on the first try!!! I guess they relaxed a bit and it worked. Which was also strange to me because I never saw my father drink a day in his life. those were the days
  11. Ahh good point, but thats not it. See I am not the only one that didnt catch it. It took me probably 6 years to see it. Will wait a bit before I let it out. I think it will make this cert, "rare", well I mean as far as skydivers are concerned, never be of value but neat to have.
  12. I beleive that is Lupe (sp?) Gonzales. The pic isnt dated but I bet you are right on the year. Or damn close. I cant tell what aircraft it is? If its a DC-3 could it be Southern Cross?
  13. Way to go!! Big smile thats half the battle...relaxing.. Looks like you are on your way!! Awesome!!
  14. Yes I know, the grip hasn't been taken, but its the names and license numbers that got my attention. The next series has the grip taken....trust me it does. I think only two are still alive??? The photo went worldwide starting with the front page of the Dallas Times Herald, all the way to Stars and Stripes. It was picked up on the wire and from what I understand the California jumpers were pissed. They had been doing 8 ways for a year or two, but never got the media's attention. If I understand the stories right that were passed down to me.
  15. Too easy for you? Ok what about these? No really, help me with the folks here, I know quite a few and some I've seen before....but.
  16. I can tell you that delivery times are 14 weeks. During the time period that Mark4 is talking about we did start a two week delay. This didnt happen with all orders just a few. If you can give me your Serial Number I might be able to help. We have been working hard on getting orders on the expected completition date that comes with the confirmation. So far its not perfect but there is a great improvement compared to other times. Did you order it through a Dealer? If you can PM me the details I will follow up with it. Thanks J
  17. Some thing like this? Sparky Where's the duct tape to cover the hooks? I never met Lou to my knowledge but I have heard of him. Sorry to hear of yet another great loss to our sport. Blu skies
  18. There is always LP .. Humidity about 45%... highs in the high 80's low 90's.....Crystal clear lakes (visibility 100 ft plus.)....at about 75 degrees Sunrise about 4 am.. sunset about 9:30 PM Makes for some LONG jumpin days... I sooo want to go to that event, but damn I hear its rough for the mfrs, equipment and all. Of course LP doesn't necessarly need "their" support. It stands on its own like couch freaks and the turkey boogie in Z hills. IMO. oh and of course SF but again IMO.
  19. Ahh come on you would be a great addition to our fun.
