The Dates You Have Been Waiting For (SF06)
upndownshop replied to upndownshop's topic in Events & Places to Jump
We could have a SkyFest logo'd swimsuit made for her. If we did it right we could have "proper" placement of the logo parts in the perrrrrrrrrfect areas of the suit. I like it!! Good ideal Spence!! Thanks for the support Andy!!! -

Good point. I was packing rounds in 1975 for .50 and paying my little brother .25 to lean. I was 8 and he was 7 years old. So that tells me that it probably was in the 80's. I think 7,500 was a common "standard" altitude for most DZ's at that time. I know I saw log entries for Z hills and I have heard of the DZ you mentioned, I believe Ted Strong was there too. Or am I thinking of a DZ near Kissimmee or Orlando? I will check his logs the next time I get to Tx and see if Jerry logged that DZ. If he was there he logged it for sure. Thanks -

Sure. In the 1970's on S/L progression it was common just to count seconds through your first freefalls up to 20 sec. delays. I think probably my first 20 jumps were without an altimeter (and when I started using one, I had to buy my own; there were none to rent). Yeah I rememebr that, arch one thousand.....except my first time I went straight into the fetal position. told someone that once and they replied, "thats cause its where you made your first 24 jumps" Anyone know where that DZ was/is? I know it says South Fl. My guess is Zhills in the mid to late 60's. I know Jerry had logged some jumps in Zhills back then. -
Where's the hook to pick up the banner?

yup squares were not around yet either. Did you notice the "reserve with INST." 2.00 the INSt was an altimeter and a stop watch mounted on the reserve. So would that mean you coud go with out? -

Found this photograph with Jerry's stuff, I am guessing it is from the late 60's early 70's. Wouldn't it be great! Not sure what DZ its from. Ahh rats, I probably should have put this in History, sorry mods. Its early -
You heard correct. SkyFest is in its sixth year and we designed the event with jumpers like you in mind. We will have over a dozen manufacturers attending our event again this year. There will be Demo equipment available as well as rental. There will also be an auction Saturday night for new and used equipment, we had over $30, 000 worth of items up for grabs last year. Our flight line is a as follows: Mike Mullins King Air Casa 2 Super Otters 3 Hot air balloons Helicopter (maybe two) Powered parachute (Instructional flights) DC-3 on standby Grand Caravan on stand by There is something for everyone! The funds generated from this event are put back into the spoort through coaching jumps for upjumpers and other skydiving activities. Our website is getting overhauled, should have been done by now but we are working hard on it. Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you there.

He died didnt he? (in the movie) So are you saying you pulled a DB Cooper? oh wait he died too..we think

I am with you. I would go and get as much of the 40 years of Skydiving history photos, reports, stats from PCA and USPA that my parents have generated. Then I would probably get yelled at by a fireman with great advice knowing that he is right, but...

Sure, works for me!!

When talking the human behaviour, it showed in here. It also showed motivation, some were motivated because they thought they were getting a "new AC" to possibly jump. Some were motivated when they heard their was a prize. The title of the thread is "very special aircraft" MM king air is special but it is not unknown in the least and has been jumped alot. You deserve all the support you can get for this event. I know Ill be there, it will be the boogie I go to after Dublin. That being said, can ya find some really wicked AC that not many people have jumped? LOL with all the hype and such we deserve something like a stealth bomber or space shuttle to jump Thats great!! I am always looking for new AC to add to my 36 different planes that I have jumped.

NANNER BOOBIE PICS! C'mon...you didn't think a Bonfire thread would pass without sex in it, did you? Doooooh!!! ok, those would be worth it!!! from what I have heard
-
Isnt it Great! No drugs, no sex, no drama, no name calling just a bit of fun.
-
thats funny shit. All i can say is that one of the AC has been guessed, but this is Bob's thread so I cant take it from him.. did that help???
-
You are correct, he had it in Texas (and other places)a few times way back when. I didnt realize it till the other day but I have it on a memorial DVD we did for Jerry. Really cool.
-
Been using it for 4-5 years now, found that it works best with a complete headset. Organized most of the SkyFest boogies with it.
-
Ok Bob see what you started.!...Micro is really working this hard, thats a hell of a list..
-
dont have that one logged yet.... sure would like to
-
did you guys just swoop this thread???
-
Disclaimer: I/we@SkyFest take no responsibility for where this thread went. well maybe a little I will let Bob finish what he started. These a/c are unique (notice I didnt say first time) to our boogie and quite possibly to many others. They are not as unique as some of the guesses but they are great AC, fun to jump and ride!!
