  2. to answer your pm in public......sounds to me like you need to get more girls if you want to jump I just could not resist. Yes, you are on my list, thanks for your help
  3. To the best of my knowledge the unofficial World record for the largest 2nd gen was set at SF 04 with a 12 way. I think we have more this year. I think you should come and play with us on that.
  4. For the actual 2nd gen jump you are out but we want to do a parent / kid jump too. Our rules are like this, 2nd gen- a real second gen is "born" into the sport our definition today is: a person who's parents or parent has or is jumping. We kind of "allow" a one time tandem or AFF parent for the sibling to qualify. This one is debatable If the parent was an "active" jumper in the military that counts too. But we can also do a "missing" man parent with the sibling jump too, for those parents that are not with us, this would make you eligible for that as well. I gues like a father son jump, or mother daughter... need to contact you on the womens stuff, pm coming J
  5. Bigway, thank you for your interest in our event. here is a similar answer I gave a while ago in another thread http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2110733#2110733 This was an up jumper inquiring about our event, but it will answer some of your questions. Also go here for prices http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2121780#2121780 Our new website will go live today with updated info. If you get a few minutes check it out. The new look is silver not the red and black like the old one that is still up. Should happen by this afternoon. Our event averages 250 people a year (expected to more this year with all the fuss) One other thing unique about this boogie is that we will do more skydives in the 3-4 days of jumping than most other events. We average 2500 jumps in 3 days. Our event operates on a "schedule" thus allowing for more jumps and more chances for people to play in all events. Again thank you for your interest and hope to see you there. J

  14. We are going to do our best to pull that off Wes. What days will you be there? the current record is a 12 way, we should have more there this year!! Is your old man gonna stop by? thanks
  15. That would be a bummer but I got it covered.. Oh no that wont happen, we have enough lift at the tip of our hands in Texas. I have a GCaravan 30 minutes away, the PAC will be there on standby, DC3 if we choose, another otter if we need. All just a phone call away.
  16. That is so great of you for the possible donation! Hopefully you will be there, but if not, we really appreciate your support. It is amazing so far this year, we have had two other donations from individuals supporting scholarships for other jumpers. One of them was a winner from last year! It touches my heart when this happens, after 5 years of doing our own little thing, it seems that SF is really starting to catch on! I had a nightmare the other day. Like 700 people showed up to SkyFest on a Thursday, so I walked up to Steve Boyd (DZO) and said you are welcome....I am going home!!! That would actually be awesome, but.....the amount of work we put into is for say 300 plus so I would want to be prepared for a larger crowd, so we can offer the best service we can for everyone. Oh boy, I am starting to get nervous about this years event. Hope we can keep up. Thank you to everyone for the past, present and future, you are what makes SF so great!!!

  20. as an ATC. Stop flying those damn Sun N Fun planes over our house...... one after another, non stop, plane after plane after plane. How the heck do you expect me to get any................ sleep!!! No really, just as the sound of the engine fades away, another one gets louder. These things are back to back!!! Have been for at least an hour.. Must be working your ass off! Hey, have a chopper come pick us up, they can land in the farm behind the house. We got to hang out with Bob and his ATC friends the other night and they are just as nutty as we are. Real cool. be safe Bob!
  21. I bet you just want to be sent to the principal's office for spankings!
  22. Open your eyes! Dont you see it? I think I woke up to early today, its like 9: 00 am!!
  23. I think that depends on the person. I know people with 1000's of jumps who shouldn't be coaching anybody and others with 100 jumps who would be great at it. Before they changed the rating structure you could get a static line JM rating at 100 jumps (C license back in those days). I was teaching first jump courses and tossing first jump s/l students out of the plane at just over 100 jumps and 9 months in the sport. Personally I think the coach rating is a safer way of getting people into instructing than how I did it, since technically those that a coach is working with are self-jumpmastering. Ahh the days of a dope on a rope... I am one myself, luckily I got to use a square. I totally agree. Yet I keep thinking that a 100 jumps lack some serious "experience" that only comes with time. On the other hand, being able to become a coach early might help keep people in the sport. But at what cost? Just some thoughts
