  1. make 1000 posts. I guess thats not so bad it took me 15 years to get to 1000 jumps. I appreciate you all putting up with my goofiness (as Jaime says) my bad grammar, spelling and weird jokes. I apologize for the 1052 threads that I have killed! And any problems I have created for the Mods. So now what happens?
  2. Would you guys like to do a show Friday night for the Wedding reception, say around 10:30 pm? I mentioned it to the couple and they were excited, what ya think? J
  3. I know the saying is: If we are not jumping we are jumping each other, but geeez man bring your own ride!!
  4. I tried getting a hold of Sherry but no luck..maybe she can help. Will try later..
  5. Oh yes Jack, known him for years! Just saw him at Bob's funneral. I am going to see if I can find some lit. on the TPC I know I have seen some before. glad you posted this
  6. Are you still crying cause you got in trouble??? Bwaaaaa I can see it now, Lee with a bib and diapers kicking and screaming!! Oh wait a minute forget the diapers...bad thought... see you soon my friend
  7. Hmmmm... I have a picture in my mind's eye but I don't see the "uniform"... I think my pics better... Hmmmmm..I have a picture in my Sony's eye and there aint no uniform..
  8. Doc Here it is. I found this in the attic after Jerry's passing and thought it needed to get back out there. So we had it referbished and came up with the Annual SkyFest Award. It goes to one person a year that has given back to the sport through coaching or even just jumping with the newbies. They do it because they want to not for money, of course that doesn't mean they cant get paid, but just out of the goodness of their heart. We put their name and year on a small tag on the trophy. The trophy stays on display all year and the winner gets a nice crystal award to take home. This will be our 6th year to award it. So help me out... is this the one form that time??
  9. Hey Dave I just may have realized something. You know that big trophy that goes to the SkyFest Scholar of the year??? I bet you that is the trophy that was passed around, maybe Doc can verify that!! I know that thing is from the 60's and that would be so cool if 40 years later its still being passed along, of course it took a break in our attic but cool anyway... Where did you get your info on the TPC?
  10. Dammit, I think I killed my own thread story of my life on DZ.com
  11. Those are some great questions. I have found that at times a boogie is what you make it as well. Tigra has some great points too. SkyFest will have at least 14 vendors with a gear auction on saturday night. We have a great choice of aircraft, as do WFFC and Summerfest. I do know that our registration is much lower than WFFC's and I would guess that Summerfest is more in line with our price. If you get a chance browse through our website to get some history of SkyFest and what its about. I apologize the site is a little rough right now, but the new one is near launching. If you like PM me with an email address and I can add you to the SkyFest mailing list. The address on the site is down so just pm me. No matter where you go, be safe and have fun, there are some great people out there that will help you.
  12. Hey Don, I do remember reading about that now. I think I have some meet results in the attic. Do you remember the Toggle line? I have a few issues. It is great to read how you guys were then. Ya'll were so cool!! Just everything was so laid back, easy going and freaken funny. Iwill try to scan one some time. Thanks
  13. You guys chatting about Kim and the fire stuff?? If so, I have no problem with her performing, last year we did run into a "scheduling" problem for Sat. night. The Dinner/awards ceremony and then Auction or the most important to us. After that the SCR ceremony falls in line. There is a band in there somewhere but that is flexible I am all for the show! You guys let me know what you want to do and we can work it out. We just found out that a couple is going to get married at SF on Friday and then wants a reception Friday night. They have a Hawaiian theme going on since that is their honeymoon spot, so maybe that would fit in perfect with the theme.!!!!! Might be a nice touch! I can chat with the couple tonight and see what they think. In the mean time let me know what you want. J
  14. Thanks Lee. SkyFest is an original event with 214 years of combined skydiving family history behind the concept, dating back to 1959. I hope we can continue to give back to the sport and generate new ideas to help keep this sport alive. That's what keeps our family working hard to continue the event - Being original! Thank you for your support.
  15. I was just rewording what somene else wrote. yes dear......
  16. One of my favorite jokes: Q: What's the difference between naked and NEKKID? A: Naked means you don't have any clothes on. NEKKID means you don't have any clothes on and you're up to something! Thats a pretty big town to do in three days!!
  17. well it aint no C-130, that would be too original I still think its Shrek. I mean he is big enough to ride and he has to smell.
  18. usually, no charge except maybe a pack job. At least thats what PD and Sun Path do.
  19. Nah - Just invest in some Liquid Latex well atleast one of ya tried../
  20. Damn guys, I gave you the opportunity....... hell i'd have her naked by now!!! use body paint for the countdown..hey would that be "paint by numbers"??
  21. reminds me of the farmers, they would take a nail out and put a bigger one in,usually worked. Great thinking..
  22. FYI A plug is a great temp. fix. but: It voids ANY mfrs. warranty on the tire. They can also be dangerous over time, especially on a bike. The plug will dry up and allow moisture to get near the steel belts thus causing rust. Which will lead to a belt separation. Usually it doesnt go that far because if moisture is getting in then air is going out so they usually just leak over time. If that happens while you are on the highway then as the airpressure decreases the airtemp. increases, once it gets to about 220 degrees F then it will blow. Not good. I would highly suggest that you get it to the shop and let them remove the plug and patch it from the inside. They might leave the plug and just snip it from the inside thus leaving a filler inside the tire and thats ok. I spent 18 years in the wholesale/retail tire business before I cutaway and went skydiving. Just to let you know where i learned this stuff from. Dont forget to replace the plug you used with a new one under the seat so you can be ready for the next one. Oh and yes I think you were very lucky by having the flat while you were parked. Clint is right, if it has a greater rating than V or Z than they may want you to replace it due to speed requirements. J
