Obama Opposed Gun Ban Exception to Defend One’s Home
jclalor replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
At the very most he will get rid of the gun show/Craigslist loop holes, large capacity magazines and the sales of ammunition online. confiscation will not even be on the table. It was interesting to see all the talk about what he was going to do 4 years ago, and all he ended up doing was expand gun rights. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3410839;search_string=obama%20guns;#3410839 -
Obama Opposed Gun Ban Exception to Defend One’s Home
jclalor replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Recent history is that Obama signed into law the ability for firearms to be brought into national parks and he also signed into law the ability to bring firearms on to Amtrak. Perhaps the most pro gun President in 20 years. I guess you guys don't talk about that much while frothing at the mouth. -
Do you know what happens to a child that eats zero protein? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwashiorkor

Cited as compelling evidence? I think the overwhelming majority of murders by crazy people are being committed by non-medicated crazy people. Will some medicated people still do crazy things? You bet... but at a much lower rate.
-
I think the ones under the age of puberty on meds would be more interesting.

Interesting, out of the several hundreds of thousands of gun murders during your time frame, you try to cite a small handful of cases as compelling evidence. The only thing missing were all the cases where 12 years old girls committed murders after getting the HPV vaccine.

Let me help your reality...just a little. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercaz_HaRav_massacre http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avivim_school_bus_massacre Call it an act of terror, whatever label you're comfortable with, the results were the same. And the proposal is similar. Out of touch with reality?...I'd say yes...you are. Perhaps you should listen to what The Israeli's have to say about LaPierre's statements, and they just may know a thing or two on the subject. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2012/12/28/israeli-gun-laws-are-much-stricter-than-some-u-s-gun-advocates-suggest/

Once again, he fails to grasp reality. http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/hendrikhertzberg/2012/12/a-program-like-they-have-in-israel.html

I think someone who arms him self with several weapons and has a plan to kill as many as possible is a bit different than this. The story was not even clear who shot who. Why no national media? perhaps because there were hundreds of other non-fatal shootings in this country last night.

Is My Own Gun More Likely to be Used Against Me or My Family?
jclalor replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Your right... People who attempt suicide with a gun are successful 90% of the time, almost 18,000 people a year use a gun to end their life in the US. People who have no access to firearms, who attempt suicide, are far less likely to be successful. Suicide, for the most part, is impulsive, and access to a gun just makes it that much easier. Will people continue to kill themselves? absolutely. Will people who have access to firearm in their home kill themselves at a much higher rate then those who don't? It's a proven fact. -
When a cop tells you hands up and you turn and reach into a vehicle, all bets are off. I think what people are reacting to is that there was no immediate first aid or any call for rescue until a later arriving cop asked (four minutes after the shooting) if it had been requested.

School Obama's Daughters Attend Has 11 Armed Guards

How did that armed guard at Columbine work out for you? -
You should have had a third choice; 3. Lets wait until all the facts come out until we start to crucify those Jack-booted thugs.

If AR15s are banned will the cops be fighting owners in the streets?
jclalor replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Hey Fred, I think your'e right about the confiscation of assaut weapons ( or any weapons for that matter) it would be hard enough to ban the sale, let alone confiscate assault style weapons. I think they may copy California, no large detachable clips, no private sales without a waiting period and mandatory background checks. Feinstein will at times make really stupid comments, she never would have enough support in her own party let alone with the GOP to confiscate weapons. -
If is comes to America or my children (even grown) I will go with my children You can give yours over to the gov if you want to*** Leave mine alone Now their coming for your kids? You guys are too much.

I was being just a bit sarcastic about the UN.

jclalor replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
The ban was inspired after a nut with an AK-47 shot up a grade school, killing several kids. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/18/gun-control-california-stockton-school-shooting_n_2316666.html -

Banned does not necessarily mean confiscated, California banned the sale of "assault" style weapons years ago. If you already owned one you were grandfathered in, they just banned the sale after a certain date. -
