    I would much rather have friends than political enemies. In defense of your x-friend, she was probably right, the Romney campaign will not enter the history books as the most honest campaign ever run. Although Romney did give a very gracious concession speech tonight, and the crowd showed a lot more class than I would have expected during the speech.

    The Republicans need to do some serious soul searching after 2012, less they go the same route as the Whig party. Like it or not, the US demographics have changed and they aren't ever going back. Keeping the Gingrich's, the Perry's and the Santorum's is never going to get the GOP anything. They need to evolve.

    Watching Fox news right now is priceless. They first projected Obama winning Ohio, then the Romney campaign called Fox to deny that Ohio was lost. Carl Rove then agreed with the Romney Campaign that Ohio was still in play, the talking heads at Fox did not what to do, the look on their faces as if they might have called the election in error for Obama was classic.

    One of my best friends at work is a far right nut job , farther right than anyone here. He is however one of the most generous and caring people I have ever worked with, and we just don't ever talk politics, water fluoridation, Presidential birth places, FEMA camps and so on and so forth. I think not personally knowing a large number of people here, gives us a little bit more of an excuse to be a bit more obnoxious that we would be in person.

    If a bullet is fired parallel to the earth, the round will hit the groung in the same amount of time as if it was dropped from the same height as it was fired from. People do die from "happy fire", it may be rare, but it happens.

    Except that a fire management assistance request is not a state of emergency or state of disaster. It is a release of funds to help states fight fires. 2011 was one of the worse years in a while. http://www.fema.gov/fire-management-assistance-grant-program I guess that pointing out that the previous administration had about the same number of declared emergencies and fire suppression request on average as Obama, wouldn't really matter to you.
