  1. Some day in the future, you will find yourself in the awkward position of having to explain to your wide-eyed grandchildren, that back in the beginning of the century, you opposed Gay marriage.
  2. It was too important to fixate about gays in the military than worry about rapist. BTW, I thought because of Gay servicemen our combat readiness was suppose to be severely degraded by now.
  3. Do you notice a trend? http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2011/04/chart-majority-americans-now-support-gay-marriage/36868/
  4. How does it feel to be consistently on the wrong side of history?
  5. . Just what the world needs... Catholics. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/mar/17/pope-africa-condoms-aids
  6. Nice how he talks about the constitution and then invokes God for help, perhaps he should write a letter to god and ask for his help with all the mass shooting instead. And to top it all off he's probably a stupid ass Mormon.
  7. I am against the death penalty in MOST cases. I think it should be reserved for those who kill while imprisoned, in custody, etc. What does one do with a person who kills people while imprisoned? Let them kill others? Kill more? Sentence others to death? We segregate people to prevent them from killing. If they kill even while segregated, then I think death is appropriate. But as it stands, capital punishment (which I think should be for the worst of the worst) is being used for far too many... There was a recent death row inmate that killed two other inmates, in protest that the state of VA was delaying his just punnishment of death. And he treatened even more murders should VA not execute him. Now, if you have to murder more people to finally get the punnishment you deserve, and want to get, is beyond belief. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/01/17/man-who-killed-2-fellow-inmates-executed-in-virginia-after-uttering-expletive/ ALSO, MARYLAND JUST ABOLISHED THE DEATH PENALTY. If DNA can be used to determine innocence, why can't DNA evidence be used to determine guilt and why not put them to death? You always post how the Government is corrupt and that they are never to be trusted, yet you trust them to carry out executions? That's strange logic.
  8. Hitchens at his best on the Catholic church. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOamsF5r3TE
  9. If North Korea ever managed to detonate any type of nuclear weapon, anywhere outside of their country, our lives would change in ways we could not even imagine.
  10. Some people prefer to keep the image that Ronald Reagan had; The welfare queen pulling up to the welfare office in her Caddie claiming benefits for 20 kids. Reagan was never able to cite any source, but that was part of the Reagan mystique, he sure was great story teller. The majority of people on food stamps would rather be off them, they would Much rather earn a livable wage. But when it comes to the GOP tossing out red meat to the ditto heads, there's no meat redder than the dark-skinned welfare recipient.
  11. It took you over 10 years to figure out that we have been throwing hundreds of billions down the shitter? We don't need the mob to do that.
  12. Chavez is dead, there goes Rodman's Latin America tour.
  13. Black skydivers? is there a point to your question, sounds a bit racist. Why would the video be labeled "Black skydiver" instead of "skydiver"? It's 2013.
  14. I think the overwhelming majority of people that smoke crack will ever stop and ponder the legal ramifications of what their doing. Would you shoot heroin if it were legalized? The argument your making is always based on the presumption that the vast majority of others, if given the opportunity, will make a poorer choice than yourself.
  15. It's about time, we lost this one. Yup. The war on drugs has been over for a very long time. Drugs won. If we can't even manage to keep drugs out of our prisons, good luck on keeping them out of a "free" society.
  16. Always good when you break a couple of ribs, it shows you're doing it right. Good to hear the success stories. The American Heart association has kind of dropped the emphasis on rescue breathing for lay people. the rational being that if you don't have to do mouth to mouth on a stranger, without a barrier device, then you may be more willing to do chest compressions. On a slightly related topic, I just got a new app called "pulsepoint" http://pulsepoint.org/app/ If you are qualified in CPR and are willing to respond to a cardiac emergency in a public place, this app, through the local EMS/911 service will notify you if you are close to a person with cardiac arrest. This app has dramatically increased MI survival rates in the cities it's now being used,
  17. Right along with the myth that CPR will start your heart, the other big lie that TV and the movies continue to show is when the line on the heart monitor goes flat and that is when they give the shock. A flat line (asystole) never gets a shock, the only time a shock is delivered is during VF (ventricular fibrillation) or pulseless ventricular tachycardia, these are the two rhythms that an AED is designed to shock.
  18. . If she was not current on her CPR and violated company policy she may not only loose her job but also get sued, Not a very hard choice if you have a house payment and kids.
  19. For some retirement place like this one, it's one of their selling points that they don't provide any medical services. Most people don't want to move into a "nursing" homes, and if they they think its just apartments for seniors it's an easier sale. This is the million dollar question, a facility like this should be required. CPR alone, without an AED within 3-5 minutes is almost worthless.
  20. If your not current, you can't go wrong with the Parachute Center.
  21. I always keep my GoPro on for the ride back in the van, that's where the real defiance of death occurs.
  22. After spending the last two week getting certified as a CPR instructor, I found this story ironic and also how badly the press reported it. The policy of the facility was no CPR performed by staff, and the nurse may not have even been currently certified in CPR, as it was not required for the job. Start pumping on a 87 year old's brittle ribs and their going to break, and when it's discovered the nurse is not current in CPR, and she violated the facilities P&P's, and cracked ribs, she will not only be out of a job but also end up being sued. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-0304-senior-dispatcher-20130304,0,43655.story
  23. I know it's probably me, but where is his chest strap? http://i1.wp.com/blueskiesmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/i40_February2013.jpg
