Health insurance cost rose at the lowest level in years ( single digits) and yours went up over 300%? it sounds to me like your the one that's really taking it up the ass. It's no surprise that some less than scrupulous employers are trying to pass on more and more cost to the employee and then they blame it on Obama. Then again, if you feel the compensation being offered at your work is inadequate, you should probably venture out onto the open market and find and employer willing to compensate you what you think is fair for your skills. The free market is very good at this.

Who knows what the hell may happen in a year, as for right now, it's covered.

You do realize that people who are buying insurance through the exchanges only represent a small percentage of the population? Those of us who have had insurance through our employers now have much better coverage as a result; no lifetime cap, preventative care provided, keeping your children on your policy, and pre-existing conditions covered. Making a prediction predicated on "just wait and see" is not much of a prediction. Peddling fear, that's all that you guys have left.

And where exactly in his two post does he even remotely blame anyone?

Decisions for whether some types of expensive medical care we're never made by the family, the doctor or the patient. These decisions were made by the insurance company or their appeals board. Guess which way they leaned 99% of the time? When you say "after ACA" what exactly do you mean? It's the law of the land right now, what proof do you have now that government bureaucrats are deciding whether individuals with private insurance receive treatment? If your understanding of how healthcare was delivered in the past is so poor, how do you figure you can predict the future? Here's an example of the only "death panels" that you're going to find: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Nataline_Sarkisyan

Isn't that an argument to never treat anybody for anything? It's also predicated on the assumption that the only value people have is economic. We'd have a pretty bleak world if it ran on your values. Don Who says this is lawrocket's values? It simply looks like a "big-picture, down-the-road" glimpse of the "values" of the ACA. Death panels (in some form or other) will be necessary and are predictable. People will necessarily have only economic (and maybe political) value WRT the ACA. That's the only way it can be "affordable". If anyone thinks that those in power who are using the IRS or the bridge traffic people to attack political enemies are scary, just wait till they start using the ACA as a weapon. While "death panels " seem terrifying, they have, and always will exist. Should a 90 year old with end stage cancer get a heart and lung transplant? Private insurance and Medicare has been making these decisions for years, What's different now? The right says out of one side of their mouth that big liberal government knows no limit to spending, at the same time saying Obama wants to deny your Grandmother care. It makes no sense.

Of all the conspiracies I have heard, this one beats them all. You assert that the government, in conjunction with the healthcare industry, was able to ascertain the votes of a hundred million people and then rig thier health coverage based solely on whom they voted for? Seriously?
-
Yet corporations and individuals can give anonymously unlimited funds to the campaign coffers of politicians, and that's all kosher?
-
Small point of terminology. They aren't "free." The are now required to be "covered" or "included," but not actually "free." Free for the end user. And while I patiently wait for the first grandmother to have the "plug" pulled on her, I wonder how many people will have colonoscopies and mammograms, who previously could not, and now will have their life saved because of it.
-
Preventative care such as colonoscopies and mammograms are now free under any insurance policy, it's part of the ACA. I've had the same insurance for 10 years, and like the vast majority of the previously insured, my plan has only changed in my favor. The reason your father could not keep his prior plan was due to it being garbage, and Obama feels that people should carry a minimum level of insurance so they do not become a burden to society. Thinking that perhaps the procedure was a component of my "new" insurance, and not knowing that preventive care is free for everyone who is insured, disqualifies you from talking shit, like most opponents of the ACA, you appear to know very little about the ACA.

The good folks at Healthnet. Where does Healthnet get the money to pay for it? The pool of money individuals and corporations pay into it. It's called insurance. You might want to look into how it works. And taking it even a bit further, now that insurance companies have to spend 80% of revenue on patient care, or give rebates, they now can "afford" to pay for preventive care. One of my very conservative friends (Alex jones conservative) at work, who also turned fifty was outraged that the government was forced to pay for my exam, after I explained to him the law, he said he wanted to see my receipts, and if true he would take back everything he has said about Obama care, he also seemed happier that any man should at the prospect of even a free colonoscopy.

I'm at the my doctor's yesterday for my yearly checkup when he gives me the news that every person wants to hear; since you're now 50, it's time for your first colonoscopy. I have had friends at my work who have had them before and they have had to pay our insurance deductible of $2000. The doctor told me that now, due to the ACA, I won't pay a penny due to it being preventative. If I wasn't sold before, (witch I was) I am now, and so will millions of others.

And what God would that one be? I do not believe that common sense and belief in an invisible friend are possible, belief requires the suspension of all common sense. -

*** About six months ago, a three year old girl that I watch from time to time, returned home after spending the day with her grandmother. The next morning her mother could not wake her up, 911 was called and they took her to the ER, where they could not arouse her, even with painful stimuli. They thought she was postictal from a severe seizure until the drug screen came back. It It turns out Grandma's new boyfriend is quite the baker and left some of his cookies out. A very scary experience. I bet this happens way more often than most people think, up until the time this happened, I had no idea that pot could do that do a child. -

I'm sure that was exactly their stance, and I somewhat agree with it. But playing the devils advocate, I think that to the general public they look somewhat uncaring. What was the difference in running some TPN for a week or two? I was surprised that was not even in the court order, they were either going to remove her from the vent or ship her to another facility anyways. -

I heard they fed her a cheeseburger not too long after the surgery, obviously AMA. It's also interesting that they didn't even give her TPN. -

The 5 million per year is way to the high side, we charge about $1000 per day for a child on a ventilator. The hospital did have a vested interest in her being dead, the cap on damages for the medically negligent death of a child in California is $250,000. -

This. There's a difference between an innocent person and one that is convicted of a particular crime they did not commit. Some might just call it karma. -

I'm a nurse and a regular to SC, this make me uniquely qualified to know when someone is brain dead. I know it's not ethical to keep a brain dead person "alive" it's not very ethical keeping a person alive who is in a PVS either, but we do it all the time, and it's the taxpayer who ends up paying because the private insurance maxes out after a year or two. we also send our vegetative kids to school because every child in California is entitled to an education. I'm just joking about the taking the kids off the vent so I stay employed, most in a PVS are only trached and breath on their own anyways.
