When you disagree with the president or his staff you are racist
jclalor replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Hang on a minute, screw the sherriff, is this seriously a conversation where people are comparing Margaret Thatcher with Nelson Mandela? Super easy. Mandela is to Obama as Nancy is to Reagan. I think when it comes to the subject of Mandela and SA, the right would prefer not bringing up the names of Reagan and Thatcher. It's kind of embarrassing. -
*** Recanted her story!!! Since when does a victim of domestic violence ever do that?

Snopes is in the tank for Obama, and it's doubtful that the original leftwing hippies actually own it anymore. They may work there, but that's all. Who pays them to protect Barack Hussein Obama is the big question? That would make for a pretty funny Snopes article: "Claim: Snopes receives funding to suppress negative information regarding President Obama." I like Snopes and FactCheck and the like, I think in general they compile a lot of good information, but like any resource you need to read what they present and make up your own mind. Particularly with FactCheck there have been situations where I didn't disagree with any information presented, but their overall rating/conclusion seemed way out of line. In the case of this article I think Snopes is right, but I think this is one of the lazier offerings they've dished up. They could potentially submit a FOIA request to get some info about turnover in the ranks and use that to more concretely counter this claim, but instead the page really just says, "Nah, we highly doubt it. False." Again, I think Snopes is right, but presenting that page as though it's some kind of definitive proof isn't correct. There are just some claims by the nutty right that don't even deserve to be looked into. This being a perfect example: http://www.addictinginfo.org/2013/12/03/photo-shopped-picture-obama-sasha/

If u like Bank bailouts, you'll love the ACA
jclalor replied to richravizza's topic in Speakers Corner
Only a liberal can believe that what works for Massachusetts will work for the entire country. Only a conservative would do a 180 on a successful conservative idea once it's implemented by a libral. -
And my question to you is do you honestly think that if the POTUS did want to find servicemen who would fire on US civilians that snopes is the end all be all US secret ops information guide?...and the president can't modify that site to his liking? Puhlease. Using snopes to verify urban myths is one thing...using it to verify something on this scale this large is completely assinine when you have an abundance of liars in washington. I'm constantly amazed at the utter absurdity of the shit you buy into. How many time-shares do you own?

Do you mean like what happened in Massachusetts? Once again you're going to find yourself on the loosing side of history. -
Very few of those who have choosen the wrong side of history ever will admit that they were wrong. You, like Reagan and Thatcher at the time were some how unable to see the inherent evil of apartheid. You still don't. Sometimes you make it difficult not to believe that you judge a man on the color of his skin, and not on his character.

Republican alternatives to the ACA aka Obamacare
jclalor replied to funjumper101's topic in Speakers Corner
Here's a question: how much should be kicked in for a person who doesn't kick in for himself? I use the example of the skydiver. A rather expensive hobby. Should we kick in for anyone? Everyone? Because that's where we go from helping to enabling. And that's what I thought the ADA was going to help address, mandating that people be responsible for themselves. I thought that was a conservative idea. -

Homer was an Al Haig guy, he was even wearing his "Haig in 88" shirt during his booking photos. -

Outside of suturing up a finger, how does your clinic handle labs, imaging, chemo and all those little things that keep so many of us alive. What about trauma? Do you all kick in for a compatriot who has had an MI for a full work up at the local trauma center ? Or are you guys more like the "let em die" type ? -
***I am not aware of any western world country that handles mental illness reasonably. The whole concept was invented by Sigmund Freud to provide a funding source and focus for his cocaine habit.[url] Back in the day, cocaine was not a very expensive hobby.

There's a lot of other religious nutters who own corporations Is the healthcare you now receive going to be dictated by the religious beliefs of your employer? http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/26/politics/obamacare-court/index.html

We all know that gun safety starts at the top.
-
He will, if only you can go pound a head into some sidewalk, or hold a pistol to a persons head and get shot. Then he will claim you as an illegitimate son, or at least claim that if he had one it would look just like you. You're sounding more and more pathetic.

As a society, we have known for a while the high cost for sending our fellow citizens into battle, it should really play a factor in our decisions to wage war. Some people really rally around the "Lets support our troops" until the bill comes in.

"Many more" - so what do your stats say is "many more" 2 to 1? 3 to 1? 10 to 1? what is the real number? how do you find the number of 'prevented' crimes too for that matter? I think it would be easier to get an official stat of just what activists pretend that ratio is or what they assume it is. in my house the ratio is zero divided by zero - so I guess you can pretend it's any number you like. regardless of the ratio, irresponsible owners (any amount) are real problems and should be addressed directly and immediately. and those actions should take place that don't affect responsible owners. It's surprisingly difficult to find data on accidental child shootings, this explained why: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/29/us/children-and-guns-the-hidden-toll.html?pagewanted=all Uncommon events are news, like this punk getting shot, common events, like a four year old shooting his little sister rarely make the news. I don't think the NRA really doubts the problem, they claim education of children is the answer. Every house starts with a ratio of zero divided by zero.

Really? As a big fan of President Hussein Obama myself, I love seeing shit like this. While I think more guns in society are a bad idea, occasionally, something likes this comes along and makes me think twice. Had that customer in that store, with a gun, not been in that store, that employee could be dead. Part of being a concealed carry permit holder is to protect the life of another. Crooks with guns during a hold-up get jittery and bad things happen to innocent people. This incident only solidifies concealed carry. The thinking on the part of the family of the crook is more than mis-guided. I can see a civil suit coming from this and that, is just too wrong. Chuck And for every case like this where a concealed weapon may have prevented a death(s), there are many more where a concealed weapon was left on a car seat, on a kitchen table, or some other place where a child finds it and kills themselves or others. I don't think an attorney would ever take this case. You'd be surprised! There are some scheister lawyers out there who will take-on anything if they think there's a dollar in it. Those careless people with guns should not have them and they only make it rough for real, responsible gun owners. I can't see generalizing 'all' gun owners. It's that old story... one bad apples spoils the bunch. Chuck I don't think being forgetful makes you a bad person, just human. With the number of concealed guns growing, accidental shootings of children are going to grow at the same rate as Concealed weapons. If people like this can be forgetful, I suppose anyone can. This happened 2 blocks from me. http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_21020993/probe-continues-into-shooting-death-gilroy-san-jose As far as a lawsuit, you may be right. One could never go broke in this country betting how low an attorney can go in trying to make a buck.

No, it's a wacked out promise given by a hack. Pretty sure "PTSD" doesn't appear anywhere in the Greek or Hebrew, and I'll go out on a limb and say its not mentioned in the English translations either :) I was being just a tiny bit facetious.
-
I think there is a lot more to PTSD than a feeling of guilt. I think that may me a small part of it, but the experience of living through something truly horrifying is the main component. It sounds to me as if Copeland is also suggesting that if the war is "Just" than any conduct during the war is justified and not feel any guilt. although it's difficult to imagine what would constitute a war-crime in the OT. I think Copeland is trying to again dismiss a complex medical/science issue with a Biblical answer. He also the nut who dismissed vaccines for true believers. Those who are unlucky enough to subscribe to his BS, will now blame themselves instead of seeking medical help.

Don't just take my word for it, it's in the bible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsydbBedzFs&feature=youtube_gdata
