  1. Waving off is to tell everyone on the ground to get out of my landing area! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. 1.T-10 2.MK-1 3.jumbo MK-1 4.PAP 5.fury 220 6.foil 7-8.sabre 170 X 2 ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. Likewise, HP pilots, don't sit on deep brakes trying to keep altitude against larger canopies then complain that they got in your way. (quote) This is what I was talking about in the last post not the other stuff. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. yea that is why I find it kind of funny to hear people crying about slower canopies when there is a lot of open space for everyone to land, it always seems to be the show off's who get pissed because "we messed up their swoop" being the lowman flying slow and in their way. The way I see it is, if your lowman and on final and some hotshot is bitching about you, then they are the real fuck up for not setting up better and making way for the people who are lower then them, moving fast or slow. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. Para-Gear used to make lots of ripcords for me. I do not know when they stopped. (quote) I didn't know till I called them to make me 3 custom ripcords for older rigs like a TR-7 and other piggyback, They told me they didn't make them anymore, my guess was because of the capwell SB. But jumpshack hooked me up, even with out handles, just pins on cable saved me money and was very fast shipping to me. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Paragear won't make ripcords anymore, that is what they told me this summer when I needed 3 made for mini systems, but jumpshack will make custom ripcords and for a fair price. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. That wouldn't be an issue if people would buy the right size for their canopies to begin with, now would it. You are welcome to say what you want and think that way, but "a joke"? Why because one don't cost 1,500+ to get one? Or because "you can't freefly in one" makes it a joke? Not being sitfly or FF friendly is a joke. Please don't offer the standard replies about pin protection and riser covers ect, because that would be a joke. I have one of the first ones built, it is very well built and very flexible ( with both canopies in it you can bend it in half the yoke to the boc) very comfortable more so then my javlin or vector, light weight and small, great pin protection on both main and reserve, and riser covers are fine, I personally chose the old style (small) with velcro, even tho mike wanted to change them for me, for free, when after six years I sent it to him resize the harness that he did for free and paid the shipping back to me, so great customer service too. So for the 640.00 I paid for it back in 96 was well worth it and the rig looks as new now as it did then, but I'm a rigger and take care of my gear unlike some. So in short I find people who talk shit about the dolphin really can't offer any good reason as to why it's a bad rig other then it's not cool to buy a cheap (price) rig with out all the fancy shit on it, IMHO those folks would be the real joke! But to each their own. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. That is good home work talking to mike you will find him to be a great customer service person and go the extra mile to help you out. However Im always surprised that people buy some gear and post on a site to ask about it before calling and talking to the company or rigger before buying. Should you ever need to send you rig to mike he will go over and fix anything he finds and not charge you a lot if at all, I think you will be happy with the rig and it's comfort. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. Mine dose but I don't know about the newer one's. I have a D-1 with a 170 in it, fit's fine. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. I'll keep my AAD and my 170 for the time being thanks(quote) As you should, and your right I don't really advocate that. I'll keep my 170's too. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. If you were going to use a 150 why didn't you do your home work ahead of time and get a D-1 or D-2. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Can't you import your stills from iphoto to idvd for the menu ? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. The FAR's say you must jump with a dual system. And that is about all it says as to the parachute worn, nowhere in there dose it say you must open one of them before hitting the ground! You are correct that the FAA don't really care if you bounce as long as you were wearing the right kind of rig and it is in date and you don't land on anyone or property as to be a hazzard to those on the ground, you could have load after load going in out in the desert and the fed's wouldn't care, but you do the same load after load in downtown usa and it will get reg's slapped on the sport real fast, because now your endangering people and property on the ground. BTW dozens burn in a year, NOT! yes there were a few every year but not dozens, every cypres fire we have today is a burn in 15 years ago, so maybe we should take them away from everyone and weed out the stupids fucks in the sport. those are only trying to save people from killing them selfs. Same thing people are trying to do with a WL BSR, your right we don't need it, what we need to do is sell everyone a vx 89 and if you can handle that you don't need to be in the sport. What a great way to weed out the fuck up's no more AAD's and sub 100 canopies for everyone. When you getting yours? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. They will move some, unless it up to your ear's. Should be done by factory or master rigger only. How far up do they move? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. I was replying to another, not you. But thanks anyway. Yes I was getting that impression but that is ok, you at least are going the extra step to canopy coaching, and would seem to be trying to be a safe pilot, thats more then some others would do. I hope you stay safe and have a long pain free time in the sport. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Boy oh boy did you ever miss the point. "you can be a damm good pilot and still fuck up bad," The proposed reg wouldn't have done a thing, because this person was well passed the cut off anyway. It don't matter how good you are or how long you been jumping, for shit to bite you in the ass when you least expect it. The person I was replying to was implying "it wouldn't happen to him" he is a good pilot and a lowtimer too. So to spell it out for you, again, it can happen to any of us on any jump, DON"T fool yourself if you think it can't happen to you too because you a good safe pilot, my friend was a good safe pilot, till the jump/landing he wasn't, it only takes one bad one, sometimes. Like MANY others before, you may only get one fuck up in this sport, and your only as good as your last landing! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Maybe I come across as some wannabe bedsheet pilot,(quote) No that is not what I ment about you, and I ment not to just try to bash you, you can be a damm good pilot and still fuck up bad, it takes a long time to experience all the difference situations that can happen in flight and landings, I had a friend who for years jumped at the same dz, he knew where the power lines were, but one day he forgot or didn't see them (but he knew for years where they were) that day he died, it can happen to any one, even you. So don't ever fool your self into thinking different, one must be on your toes at all times on the dz and really on it landing off the dz. Good luck with the coaching. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. I'm only as good as my last landing. (quote) We're all only as good as our last landing! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. we should all just kiss your ass and put up with whatever regulation the vocal minority sees fit to impose. (quote) No but you should show/have a little more respect of the people who have been in this sport for a long time and cleaned up many a mess of young piss ant know it all jumpers over the years , which you seem to come off like one of those type's. Most of the people who are in favor of a WL BSR are tired of going to the accdent site of friends and those who didn't heed good advice to slow down ect. And for you to keep going on the way you have shows you have not been around the sport very long or been one of the people who get to clean up the mess, just because you haven't turned low and hit the peas now don't mean your not going to fuck up down the road, so what is wrong with learning more and learning from the older wiser jumpers who have been in this sport longer then most likely be for you were born. If you live long enough to jump 15 to 20 years you might see things from their side of the fence! Then again maybe NOT. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. Sometime you have to accept the fact that you can't tell a idiot their a idiot!
  21. Yes I know that. That was my point even tho the s&ta, dzo, faa local rep, knew me and knew I could do any demo because of what I did in the past, I got no "grandfather" on the pro rating I have to prove I had the skill to people who knew I had the skill. With the WL issue if your a ego stroking wannabee hot shot and show bad judgment early on you won't be jumping a hotrod canopy because your lack of skill and good judgment will show it's self early on, and we'll be cleaning you up from under a student canopy after trying to show off. The biggest part of proving ones self is to show good judgment and be in control of your skills and knowing ones limits. Some of the best demos I have ever done I landed in one of the out's or didn't go at all, the same would apply to HP landings, knowing how and when to swoop and when not too, or understanding you don't have the skill to do so in the first place. Like learning to walk, one must crawl first. Because so many didn't have the good judgment or skills to do demos, we now have a pro rating and even some who have a pro rating still forget to use that good judgment otherwise we would have people on the ground getting hurt or killed by skydivers because they went to a football game. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. You got that right, very well said! What get's me is about those who whine about all this WL issue is, they DON'T get it. When the PRO rating came out, even tho I had done many demos with out the rating, I had to PROVE myself to get the rating to do demos I had all ready done before many times. Why? because some couldn't handle it and got in over their head, got hurt, killed or killed or hurt someone on the ground. The same apply's to todays canopies, you may NOT "only hurt or kill yourself" you might take someone out and only hurt yourself, don't fool your selfs in to thinking it can't or won't happen, it all ready has more then once! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. You forgot the part about, go ahead and try to dial in that HP swoop in an off landing, more shit to sneak up to bite you in the ass doing that, but seeing how we have sooooo many hot shots who can handle anything that comes their way all they will have to worry about is some pissed off farmer with a shot gun. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. My point was that I shoot stills every jump even if the person don't want them, you never know what shot you might get. As for 35mm it is a soon to be by the way side in the sport, a person who can shoot digital but shoots 35mm instead is doing a disservice to the customer in the long run and by never seeing their work how do you know it's any good and worth the price the person is paying for it. The customer can e-mail them, save as screen savers, and blow up huge posters better with the digital format, with a CD there is no cost to to print them to see the photos, printing the photos from CD is very cheap to do should the person want to. Should a DZO tell me I can use my 10d to shoot stills and have to use my 35mm instead, I wouldn't work for! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  25. I'm not going to use the digital for tandems. I'll attach a film camera for that. (quote) Why? Seems like a waste. I have sold more stills to tandems who didn't ask for them before the jump, but after seeing the photos after the jump they were thrilled to find out they could have them in only a few minutes those shots on a cd. And you can besure the students gets a good set of photos, instead of handing over a roll of film that you don't know if you got anything worth the price asked. No more trips to buy film and keep film on hand CD's are cheaper then film, your 10d will also plug into the TV to show everyone the tandems photos, and you get to keep your work and recoop the cost of the 10d faster! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
