You said it way better then me. We have a real clean one (like new) and two others in very good shape, all were jumped last season. They were fun to rebuild and fix up and jump. It's a hoot to see the new kids eyes when you start to tell them about the "jesus rope", they think your kidding, at first. The Crossbow piggyback , We have one in the loft that is jumpable, I rebuilt alot of it even the "jesus string" you are right about the snaps on the reserve container, I would have to look at it to remember correct, but I think the housing has a "rsl" hooked to it and the rear for cut away and it takes the whole housing with it (snaps), but the whole housing can be pulled as well if you have a total on your main followed by a cone lock on your reserve. Yes I have it on a 10 d and no I don't have to fly back real far, or more then normal. There are times I wouldn't mind having a tad more field of view, but this is the lens I could afford at the time I got my 10d. I can understand where your coming from, as I said it don't happen much these days and I don't put up billboards around town or the dz saying I'll work for free But I do see who dose what with out being asked to do it just to help out and who don't do shit. So who do think I should or would help out? Out of all the training jumps I do with jumpers training to be an I, mis-routed 3-rings are the most common thing they miss. I pointed to the manuals stacked on the shelf in the loft and told him read it and learn to do himself before he got someone or himself killed, he said but that why he was paying me to do and walked out and paid a packer to do. I would do it if, 1. it is some I know. 2. a regular jumpers family member 3. a favor for the dzo 4. for someone who helps out in any way they can at the dz like mowing grass or picking up trash,shagging students, catching tandems,cleaning bathrooms ect. I know who helps out and who sits on their ass. 5. a person packing to pay for jumps because their poor. All of the above are good reasons to do it and give back to the sport, when I see a person busting ass to help around the dz in any way they can I will offer But it don't happen much these days. so next time your at the dz do something to help out around there and earn your helping hand, the dzo should notice your taking out the trash ect. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Had a guy with over 400 jumps ask me last summer what I would charge to hook up his 3 rings, not because he was lazy but because he didn't know how.
