Someone pencil packing/forging my signature. Especially when their Cypres was out of date when they did it.(quote) If someone brings me a rig they pencil whipped, everytime my name and seal is on there it will cost them 100 bucks or I won't give them the rig back. I don't sign data cards I have a stamp. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Hey now I never said you were lame, but I did post the fuckhead yuppie thing not that you are one for the record! So your a brown bagger eh,now that is cool.

since so few riggers are interested in teaching others,(quote) Well when you get your ticket start to train them then. I think you will find as the rest of have that 95% of the time you will be wasting your time with people who don't follow thur and you will be as sparky said so well, that your now running a daycare not a loft! If someone really wants to get a ticket they will invest the money at a class like at SDC. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

riggers who complain about unknowledgable jumpers, then don't go to any effort to help them learn - that's my pet peeve. (quote) Willing to learn is one thing, but if I got to give out free drinks and chips in order to get someone to take the time learn about their rig and or rigging, then those are the type of jumpers who need to stay out of the loft / sky. Any how much are they going to learn anyway getting shitfaced? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I did sneez. Knudson (sp)? I asked because I saw a old jumpsuit on ebay, the ones he used to model, and got me think about old days and people you don't hear about anymore. Wonder if he still has that hair doo too. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I invite you to come pack 20 tandem rigs in a day and tell me how easy they are to close. been there done that and have a t-shirt too, now add in a bunch of older round rigs on top of that and that is a good days work, tandem rigs, silly young one. When I said 35 rigs I ment the belly warts as well as the mains, lot of fun in bulk, really. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Dose he still jump? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Yes a round is easy to pack, the point is it was and is more work, then todays gear. Holding tension is not a big deal, but most need people need someone in the harness to do so. I use a table if it will fit on it. Closing containers today is much easier then on older gear and less work. If you don't think so, meet me at the richmond boogie for the all round load and you can pack and close all 35 rigs we have, and then you tell me how much work is involved and how easy it is. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

We got a master rigger at my dz who has been jumping 50 years, he has a dolphin and tacked down his reserve risers with 6lb cord. it was real funny to hear the "new kids" talk to the dzo about trying to ground him because of his dangerous rig and bad rigging on his rig. I tease him all the time about it. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

1. I'm not as old as you might think. 2. we didn't have "a hard time" packing back in the day, but it was work. 3. Sorry I didn't get your being sarcastic, but I hear this kind of talk all the time from young ones. 4. That is good you pack for yourself, more people should. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Not sure as a newbie who has only jumped out of an Otter, Caravan, and skyvan, (quote) Todays sport jumpers, LOL. When I started all we had was a C-170 or a C-172, both hold only 3 jumpers, a C-207 was a big plane, even better if it had a turbo. Otters and skyvans were something we just dreamed about, A beech-18 or DC-3 was a big deal, today there "vintage jump planes" and you get to pay more for the ticket, LOL. Hey try it you might like, being smaller it won't be as hard to guess who ripped that nasty smell. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

YEP< that was when packing was real work. And trying to get some of those rig's closed on a hot summer day.... No wonder I'm so fat, just don't sweat like that today. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

I just took someone like you to Z-hills, I'm not on staff there, after talking to the S&TA and showing my AFF I, I was able to take him up for slots only. It was not a big deal to get him current at that dz. I have found most dz's to be ok with this, it helps to call ahead first and talk to the dzo or manger, most will let your rated friend take you up with out an extra charge. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo -
A rigger we know once got asked to patch a crossport vent.(quote) If it was a main, I would have put a hot pink one on it and charged them 50 bucks and put a note in the data card to let them know their a dumbass, then charged them at least 35 to pick it out later. The customer is always right, right? LOL ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

Get a job that allows you to pay a packer to do it for you! Packing SUCKS. Only do it if you have to.(quote) Sounds like one of those new school fuckhead yuppies who throws around money because that's easier then just sucking it up and doing the work. Anyone who bitches about how hard it is to pack today needs to take a time trip back to the good old days, you people got it good today! It only takes one person to pack today.(only took one person back then if you knew what your doing) So shut up and pack your own rig then jump. On that note I think all packers should charge more money for the service like 10 or 12 bucks. Why? Because there will always be the lasy ass crowd who will spend the money and you'll make more cash at the end of the day. Such a good idea in fact, I'm now charging 10 bucks for a main pack job as of this season. I have my own rigs to pack (5 of them) so I don't have time to waste on some lasy ass for 5 bucks. So 10 is the going rate now, if you bitch about it, then it's 15. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

unpack it, repack it, unpack it, repack it, do this about a 50 times and take another packing class as well as sit in with your rigger to see and learn how your reserve is packed, you may learn a few tricks, if your fighting with zero P then your trying to hard, take your time and learn to do it right. In time you'll be a better packer, if you take to easy way out and pay a packer you learn nothing, other then how to spend money and be a lazy ass new schooler. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

We still have some on our retro rigs (with center drilled out) However to the untrained eye and the untrained user they can be a bad thing. As for "speed links" we have a box full of them around the loft (not for use) I have seen a number of non rigger young jumpers use tools and other stuff like speed links, when they have no idea of what it is or how to use it the right way. And this too can be a BIG problem, I could see some of todays dumbasses getting a hold of some old speed links and using them with out a clue as to the danger and with out seeking out those who do know, to ask about using them. So in short for all you non rated riggers out there reading this, stay the fuck out of the loft if you don't have a ticket and keep your hands off our tools! ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
