  5. dig out some rounds to jump and pack about five pounds of flour in to his, tell him not to worry it won't blow up on opening, but forget about telling him about the flour inside. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Well last time I had one done it was around 150.00 to have the factory reline, and they inspect the canopy for airworthy, is it worth it? well how much do you like your canopy? I have a sabre 1 with over 3000 jumps on it and it's on it's 4th line set, still fly's great and pack's REAL easy, opens very soft no spankers ever! and on heading 99.9%, lands as nice as my newer one with 300 jumps on it. I will keep it till it blows up. So is it worth a reline? Or is it worth spending big bucks for a new canopy? Only you can know... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  10. I was going to work at a dz in the midwest this season, till I saw the contract that said, "any and all media, posters, artwork of any kind, video assertained in the duty of the contractors work shall be property of xzy dz, contractor has no rights to further comp, and no right to publication without permission of xzy dz" In other words, if I shoot a tandem video without stills but still shoot some on my own the dz would own them, even if it was a photo of my wife riding in the plane, or a cool shot of a cloud out the door, not mine to do with as I please because I assertained those photos while performing dutys as a contractor. Myself and one other refused to sign, but the others didn't even really seem to read the contract, they fliped through it and signed it, but seeing how most of them are lowtime video flyers I guess they don't know any better or are just stupid. So NO I would not work for someone who would do that, it's a fucked up thing to do to give up your copyrights, unless Norm kent called you and asked you to take part in one of his films then that is understandable, but I don't think he'll call anytime soon. If your an employee you have no rights to any footage/photos. If you are an independent contractor you retain ALL copyrights by law, UNLESS you agree to that in writing I feel that it is a chickenshit thing to do to hard working photographers/videographers, after all we are the ones who spent all the money to own the cameras and the rest of the crap we need to do the job, if the dz want to pay for ALL the equipment even rigs, then they can have the rights, we don't break even half the time as it is. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. jump on the bee line and go west to route 4 and go north to exit 30 I think, it's right before you get to the turnpike, look at the web page it has a map. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. Well I know of at least two tandem rigs that had the worn out mains switched with the new reserve, i.e. old main packed as reserve, reserve packed as main. Then sold to Tm's as used rigs with fresh reserve repacks, they were found at the next repack. yes there are crooks in this sport... As for the student opening up a rig NO, but I would offer to have them stop in durring the week to watch a repack and the could pull silver then, to understand how it all works and why we won't waste a repack once it's sealed. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  14. NOPE, none, the big goose egg ! the last dz I worked at the dzo was such a tight ass they charge all the staff to get into a boogie to work at it.... How's that for treating your staff right? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. Man that's old technology, you need to get some modern cutaway capewells, R-3's dude... 16. Pay attention next time your driving on the highway and count how many 18 wheelers you see from canada, running our highways and hauling loads that Americans trucks should be hauling, and a lot of them are going to mexico, canada to mexico hauled by trucks from canada, and then loads back to canada. FUCK NAFTA! And they drive like shit too..... you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Anyone wanting to see if someone really has a ticket is go to, www.landings.com and you can search their name for that ticket. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. I would agree with you, have a look at the gear in these photos, most, if not all the rigs were made before some poster's were even born. these photos are from 2001 and 2002, they all past tensile and they are all airworthy, all this gear is jumped 5 to 10 times a year, some are in brand new condition, but because it's 25 or 30 years old we shouldn't use it? get real. if it's airworthy jump it, if it's not and won't pass the test's turn it into a car cover! Maybe this why so many jumpers look at us "funny" when we go to manifest.... stratostar

  20. We been testing this design for a while and used to oldest gear we could find to prove how much drag was reduced with this hot new style of design. our test jumper is one of the best in the country we test droped him on his head a few times to see if the metal would hold up, as you can see in this photo he is no worse for wear, for order info call 1-800-conehead name the test jumper, we'll send you free, stratostar
