    boots

Seen them on ebay before. Paragear had them but I don't know if if they do now. Check the classifieds on here.
  2. And I don't think an brand new 1970's Wonderhog is airworthy. I don’t care if you have a rig still in the plastic (quote) I disagree, but thats just me.
  3. Yea like hook said, 'it's time to let that thing go". Send it to me.
  4. Make you a call to Steve Stewart he was a dpre in that area at one time. He is also a master rigger and has a lot of older gear to work with. Roger Humphrey or Greg Baliey or Don Brewer or Gorge Capitanio all of them jump at swc and all of them could teach you, the best would be Roger he's been jumping for 50 years now and is a master rigger. Or call Jerry Macdonald or Eric Camble at ssk. (quote) PEP are still using rounds, but they are no longer using Acid mesh so thats not a concern any longer. (quote) I know a couple people who still have them in their sport rigs and also in their belly warts too. I have also seen them come through the loft as well. So people do still use them. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. At the last Canadian riggers' course, we avoided t (quote) talking about parachutes more than 20 years old, because very few 20-year-old parachutes are still in Canadian skies and we did not want to over load young riggers with information they will rarely use. (quote) Thats all and well, but here in the USA I still know a lot of jumpers who still have and use phantom reserves I just took off line my 26ft and sold it to a guy who had a 24ft he wanted a bigger canopy, it tested fine from day one, I see alot of them around for todays market, granted not like 15 yeras ago but they are still in the air. My point was if phree really wanted to know how to do the test there are plenty of riggers in the Ohio/Indiana area that can and do the test and have the rigs to do the test on, I know of at least 4 riggers off the top of my head up there he could talk to in order to learn and do the test. To many jumpers today talk shit about how bad a round is main or reserve with out any idea of the truth about them, there is nothing wrong with a round parachute that is airworthy even if it is more then 20 years old, hell my 1964 MK1 paracomander works just fine, and so will my strong lopo thats in my 77 wonderhog I jumped this rig 8 times this season and you know what, it worked just fine every time. When I repack the lopo it looks just like a brand new canopy as if it was made last week, but it's a 74 and passed the tensel every time. So by your logic it should go in the trash and not in the air, over all the years round reserves have been in use how many people have died because they hung one out compaired to how many have been saved, there are lot of pilots who owe their lives to a round, jumpers too. So if a young rigger don't want to take the time to learn about them fine, but part of getting your ticket is knowing where to get the info, it is out there, pointers manual, beckmons, and there are plenty of riggers who know the info or where to get it. So if someone REALLY wants to learn it then they need to get off their lazy ass and go learn it! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. Well there are a lot more acid mesh rounds around then you might think and it's good to know how to an easy test so one can pack pilot bail out rigs or sport rigs, not really tricky at all just need to know who to ask.
  7. (Quote) Because the knowledge level is not being passed on to new riggers. I still can't find anyone to walk me through acid mesh tests locally since there is nothing to test on.(quote) Then you haven't been looking very hard. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. (quote) With the Wonderhog if I have questions while packing it there is no one for me to call and ask questions to. RWS does'nt really support them anymore.(quote) I disagree, I found Bill Booth and his employees to be very helpful with info and parts for a 77 wonderderhog I put together this summer. I talk to Bill in PMs and I talked to the RWS shop on the phone. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  11. (quote) and yeah i could never see fitting my pc into a modern rig... it is huge.......well maybe a tandem rig but that is pushing it... Find you a wonderhog or an early version sweethog. Build you a d-bag or use a pod, will fit fine, however you may need to turn it sideways in packtray if using a pod. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. You can use any of them, ie: ripcord (old school) hand deploy or S/L. It would depend on what type of rig you use. Unless your a pussy you use a retro H/C with ripcord capewells and a belly wart! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. If your going to flair a P.C better do it with rear risers and don't do to high. Never do it with toggles! If your a fat ass it won't help much anyway. Out of the 8 pc jumps this summer I got 6 great soft stand ups and the other two were on windy days but were soft crosswind plf's. Have fun with your new toy when you get it. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. Hey if you want to get in on some round jumps then Skydive Wayne County in Richmond In. is the place to be. We have the largest collection of jumpable gutter gear in the USA, 25 compleat sets and counting, we still have more to bulid. For the bigways come to Richmond "the"boogie Photos attached are from this year of the 6-way. (from prior post in 2004) Here are the totals for my dz, as for now, for round jumps this season. We have had 25 jumpers make 50 P.C. jumps. 15 0f 25 were 1st timers under a round, making 22 out of 50 jumps 4 were chicks and two had less then 100 jumps, 42 & 62. But the high lite was the mass drop at the Richmond boogie, we were trying for 20 but one had to attend to a golf cart/truck crash as we walked to the plane so we dropped 19, split in to two loads. a ten way that built to 6 with 2 low (carbone was low) and 2 getting there right at break off not docking. And a 9 way that built to 8, all but 1 out 19 landing in the main LZ. I hear it was quite a site from the ground. 21. "The Richmond boys" and their toy's... 1. Bob Peters 6-4-04 2. jason yashuda 6-4--04 3. Don Brewer 6-30-04 4. Wes McCauley 6-30-04 These dude's are testing out rigs for the all round load they do at "the boogie" every year, look's like maybe a 20-way this year, they got the gear, but don't know about 20 jumpers to fill them. too many chickens around? you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo

  23. yea the panties are clean now the break off was to be at 4500 we were reaching that point when he hung it out. the bottom line is there was no track at all and no real wave off, yes they were talked to and are still being talked to. And NO the photos are NOT photoshopped, I have better things to do with my time ! you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. I was filming a two way, a guy and his wife, both are low timers 80 and 45 jumps each, the wife was tracking to him, he went low,did a half of a wave off and threw out, she saw it coming and started to turn away, he never tracked off, just dumped. It could have been worse, but was very close to being real bad, not the best photos, frame grabs. But you get the idea you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
