  1. Once it is inalignment ,take it off the base plate and mark the camera plate so you know where to put it back when you change the batt, the base plate will always be the same unless your mounting screws loosen. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  2. Yep thats what I'm talking about. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  3. Yes I know that and understand that. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  4. While the above posters are right it is not great idea due to snag issues, I also have see it done before but sitting on the tail gate, it was a clean deployment and the pc only danced a short time in the burble, but stayed tight and away from the side walls, the jumper stayed sitting on the tail gate as the main deployed and wasn't pulled off till the whole canopy was out of the bag and taking air in the first 3 cells, then he smoothly was extracted out the back, the canopy opened in a horizontal deployment. While I wouldn't make it an everyday thing to do, after seeing it done,it was cool to see done BTW ,I would do it without a second thought if I had to do it. The government dose extractions out the back of C-130's a fair amount with skids of cargo and even tanks, but they have also lost crews doing it too, and they do it with the wheels on the gound or just about touching. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  5. YES and I'll even help you find your main out in the corn fields too. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  6. That is because it is alway the same people who ask, and after teaching it 3 or 4 or more times and knowing these same people have attended safety day more then once, I think by that amount of time of free teaching if they don't still know how to do it, tells me their stupid & wasting my time. No I don't think your attacking me, my point is when/if you get a ticket and spend sometime using it you will have a better understanding of what we put up with. ***but I hope your pricing to the skydiver who shows a intrest in learning about the gear that saves there life and shows respect for your work would be charged accordingly. *** I have no problem teaching anyone about their rig and or rigging, I encourage it, but if you don't learn anything from it cuz it is easier to throw money around, your wasting my time again, but I'll take your money if your willing to pay the price for wasting my time during the free training. I will say if you came to an event and had to chop and need to get a repack it will cost you the normal fee(60.00 usd), I would rather take time out of my fun to get someone back to having their fun instead of sitting on the ground. Most jumpers are very happy to have someone spend time teaching them about their gear, those people are the ones who learn and will offer you dinner or a drink or something, like yourself helping the guy with his car, those are the people I will help anytime for free and they are not the kind who always return to ask the same stupid crap time and time again. I keep a list of who I will help and those who will be charged for my time. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  7. Not trying to be a dickhead dude, but go get your ticket and spend a few years using it and putting up with people who think your time and work are worth 5 bucks and or nothing (free) and spend your skydiving days in the loft seeing everyone else having fun while you work your ass off for not much pay and then to top it off when your pack job works and saves someone they don't thank you with a bottle anymore nowdays, then you might start to understand what were saying. You think I should hook up everyones 3-rings for free? Or give out advice all day I had to pay to learn. I used to, but like I posted from now on it 25 bucks a side, because most people who ask are lazy or stupid, students still get free training till they get an A then if they still don't get it by then it's 25 bucks a side! It's steep for a reason, I have better things to do like jumping then fixing everyones little bullshit they could do them selfs if the understood their gear. If you show up at a boogie and want me to repack your reserve that's 130.00 cash. Because I see it as your the dumbass who planned to go to a boogie for weeks ahead of time but didn't bother to get in date before showing up and I too planned to go to the same boogie weeks ahead of time, to SKYDIVE and not work in the loft. If you don't agree thats ok, when you have your ticket you can be that guy working the loft durring the boogie for normal rates and doing shit for free all the time to be a nice guy, but I got bills to pay like everyone else in the world. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  8. Your not the only one. My best guess is that it is NOT. That is the word going around, and the web page is now down. Maybe they were hoping no one would remember the advertising they put out and it would fade away? ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  9. 3FNG's. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  10. And would this not prove our point of why it is NOT a good idea to do 3d's with a tandem? Ok I know some people just don't get it or maybe just don't care to get it. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  11. I guess I need to up the price of a main pack job. The reserve rates seem to have gone up with some I know this season to 60.00, so I guess I'll up mine too, wouldn't want them to think I was lowballing. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  12. I'd recommend contacting the dropzone in Mexico directly and bitching to them. (quote) Wouldn't that be like pissing into the wind. After all you said, But what can you do when 2 adults make that decision in a country with little to no regulation? (quote) You have a valid point. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  13. No. The two main owners have decided to not open the DZ. Sorry for the confusion. (quote) Gee sure would be nice of them to post that info if it's true, after all they post the opening. Oh well anyone really want to jump a twin-bo anyway. Good news for Gorge and the boys. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  14. but she sure didn't know dick about that gear. And the bad thing was that she didn't really care at all about learning about it. (quote) Thats why we have paid packers now, who think their Jr. riggers too. Too many people throw their money around in order to get what they want done with out having to learn anything, why worry about it when all you have to do is slap a 10 down and get it done for you. I'm always surprised at how many people don't even know how to hook up a 3-ring the right way, maybe their full of shit or just to lazy to do the work, I don't know, but from now on I'm charging 25 bucks a riser to assemble 3-rings. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  15. So ALL hybrids are unsafe (quote) No thats not what I'm saying, 3D's with tandems are however. Again JMO, we can agree to disagree. I would add that yes doing a 3d is adding a higher risk to everyone involved, I have no problem with jumpers (not tandems) doing it as long as they understand the added risk and plan for it. It may not have happened yet,(premature opening) but one day it will, and if it's the hanger, who ever is above is in for a world of shit when it dose, I think we will see someone go in one day from this "bizarro scenario", but I hope not. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  16. Ok, didn't know what to believe from all stories going around. Wouldn't be the first time a area dzo made up some BS. Thanks you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  17. Located Just 15 minuits from loop 465 in Lebanon Jump Indy Skydiving Center, Indiana's newest and only DZ owned turbine aircraft (Otter) facility is looking in to sponcoring one and maybe two RW teams for the upcoming season. JISC will be opening this spring in there very own 8500sf hanger office complex on a 167 private airport with with a huge gear store and some of the most enovative programs concieved in recent years. (quote) Anyone know if this dz is just a wet dream or is it really going to open? An area DZO has been putting out the word that this dz is done and they haven't even opened yet. The web page was up and viewable, but now it is down. First it was a twin otter and WB182, then it was a twin bo and WB182, then it was just a WB182, and now the word is they won't open at all. Could there be some truth to the "talk on the street"? Anyone know the real deal? sorry for the wrong placement greenies.... ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  18. Sure, you can imagine some bizarro scenarios that *might* happen, (quote) I wouldn't call a premature opening a "bizarro scenario", due to the fact is has happened more then once and everyone of the people I know that has had it happen to them didn't think it would happen, yet it did. but for every one of those, I'll match it with one from a normal skydive.(quote) That's ok, no need to get in a pissing contest here. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this subject. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  19. Ok what about the other photos going around from the same people ( I assume) seem there is a habit of doing 3D with tandems there, even if it's mexico. It don't make it safe or a smart thing to do. Docking is one thing, hanging under is another all together, just seems foolish to add the risk. JMO. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  20. You could run "S" video out and only run your audio in RCA. But nothing wrong with your doing now. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  21. Ditto to what everyone else has told you. You might also want to think about spliting your month up two weekends at one and two weekends at the other. Closed down not long ago, how do you know they will not close soon again? As for more fun at one, your the one that makes your own fun, and you never know you might meet more people and find more friends by spliting your weekends, besides sometimes it is good to get away and have break from the dz politicking. you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  22. Yea their good at making me not happy, indy fsdo can be real pricks depending on who you get. But I guess it that way every where. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  23. The PC-7 has a stupid lanc port that is a plastic adapter that plugs in to the side of the unit and would break off very easy and also wouldn't let you put it in a d-box. However the 5 has the regular lanc port, so that would be your best bet. I found a brand new PC 100 (unopened factory box)on e-bay for 480.00, it would be wise to shop hard to find the right one for the right price, it took me awhile to find this one but it was worth the wait. Hope that helps. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
  24. Thanks for the clarification. What I posted is how it was explained to me and others by the FAA and it was a lot to take in , in one meeting. And we all know how one inspector interprets the regs can vary widely from another, after all their here to help. ~ you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
