Uh, since when is jumping out of the back of a 727 at 10,000 feet, "fooling the FBI" !? Its been him on the run or dead, ever since. No trace of his existence except for a little money. Not even a rotten parachute or a pair of shoes? So much for the glamour of D.B. Cooper. Just idiots like Bob Knoss to tell the tale! That is really "fooling the FBI"!

I strongly disagree with planning this for ten years, he didn't know how to open the aft door, he didn't notice the reserve chute was a demonstration chute? I kind of think after 10 years of planning he would know the 727 from front to back and would have more experience with chutes! just to mention a few problems he had. The telling thing about Knoss is he misses so many details someone in the position he claims would know. Little details like the orders for the chutes! Make something up about that now, Chia Knoss. Something involving ships ... Something involving trucking . . . Something involving Joe McCarthy . . . Something involving ant farms . . . !

The Case goes on into it's 41st year unsolved only because few peoplel will not actually get out in the area an search for a Parachute. Simple fact find the chute . It is worth over a Million dollars. Very few people would pay $1million for that chute. Its not exactly a national treasure! $10-20 thousand maybe, on a good day Likewise hundreds (if not tens of hundreds) have ground searched all the effected areas for any trace of Cooper, in addition to the thousands (if not tens of thousands) who have passed through the areas affected for various reasons, in the last forty years. The last thing this case needs is more Ad Men, in the Cooper Industrial Cult Complex.

If this was a Government cover up, why not just catch him the next day and be done with it? why leave all of these problems of who he was? Well now you have touched on Knoss's hidden premise: "Governments are stupid". Never mind that governments are people, like members of your own family! Joe, Ed, Mike, Mary . . . with kids of their own and a mortgage to pay off. Knoss has a Fox Valley grudge against somebody for something, just as their favorite son Joe McCarthy did. That is all there is to this made up boiled fish. Yep ; life in the Valley is hard! Plus it's cheap! All you need is a blank sheet of paper held up for the public to see. It could be anything ..... could even say nothing. Just make it up as you go along and claim you are speaking for Gawd, and love cheeses. Bring on the boiled fish heads - and fish stories.

Dumb question here (for once): Would cross winds being mis-stated cover for a crab right to a real position 15 miles west of the stated position? Ie., could the wind discrepancy cover the position shift undercover? Would that explain how the plane got West of Portland while still seeming to be East (or directly over)? Just askin'. I think maybe so. huh? Something going on here. Perhaps the Bohen report is correct and the other report was fudged? Naw, that would never happen, would it? Also seems to me that this particular plane had special new gear that the rest of the airliners had not been upgraded to yet. Kinda foggy, but I remember a discussion about new radios, extra radios, something. It was more advanced than the average goose? It could be vectored by the Pilot rather than the navigator plotting a course? A reported side wind would justify a flight crab correction while maintaining vectoring beacon signals? Naw, that would never happen. You'd have to be a damned skilled pilot to do that! BK, Could you restate the above in some manner so that people can understand what in the hell you are talking about? funny And Knoss is the guy with all the answers.... Could it be that the 80kt wind is an estimate by H and his ghost writer/researcher, not something Bohan ever stated directly? Was Bohan still alive when H published his book? H is supposed to be a pilot - why would he take something like this out of context without fact checking it? H was there in Portand that night. He knows firsthand what the weather was - he knows the weather he and his helo pilot encountered that first night, not just at PDX but all the way up to Woodland and back, and he says nothing special about the weather in that context in his book ... That is why I wish someone could find Bohan's alleged FAA report, if it existed. Something is wrong with this whole thing -

On the other hand, why are people getting so balled up about this? Supposedly (as you already know if you read the thread), an FAA report was filed. A personal report to PDX manager (Ken Hastings) wss made. It was the worst day in Bohan's life! He had an appointment to keep - no time for dying! Crew members there were interviewed -ad nauseum. Rev. Farfluodinni intimates the flight never occurreed at all! Hominid has given a molecular opinion based on fluid dynamics. WTF more do you want? A cherry on top? WTF more can you have? World War III ? I suppose you could sell advertising!

I have the Tax Report, but not the back-up documentation. The company Duane worked for as Family Life Insurance - home officed in Seattle. This was a Manager award meeting - either the last wk of Sept or the first wk of Oct. I have the receipt for the Night on the Town and another award he received, but they have NO date other than being in the 1979 tax file. Maybe some other manager or the home office kept some papers. The attached pic was taken our last night in Seattle after he had been missing all afternoon. Do you think I am that good? Do you think I am actually capable of making this up? I have the ring he bought for me at the Eye of the Needle. A small concession just before we got on the elevator to go down. It is a wide Black Hills Gold pinky ring. I do not know how to contact the company anymore and there was only one other manager there I knew. Do not know if he is still alive. Max was the guy incharge and they showed us their new computer system and how much room it to up - was state of the art at that time. I have shown pictures we made in Salt Lake on our way there. With the detail back-ups from the tax report having been done away with yrs and yrs ago what do you expect me to produce? I did have a couple of picture we made in Seattle, but nothing that could not have been made at another time. Nothing that has a date on it - not even the pictures unless there is a date on the negatives. It rained in Seattle and I only took the pics in the room and the ones made at the market I disposed of over the yrs. YOU Mr. Smarty Pants Georger - contact the Family Life Insurance Company and find out if they have any records that have been archived - such as Monthly News Letters and such. My daughter was not with us. Do you have record of the places you went to in 1979? Can you prove if you made a 4 day business trip to Do Wa Ditty that yr. which was at company expenses? Well Jo, the whole point of this exercise is to provide proof for claims. Everyone on this board has said that to you endless times - Im no exception. 377 has worked tirelessly trying to get you to provde "proof". Why? Jo peddles so much crap it is impossible to take anything she says at face value. Example: Jo says that when she met Duane in 1977 he was a businessman and well liked by everyone. In fact, Duane was either recently divorced or still married (according to Jo's own stats), and his arrest records show he had been arrested a mere six months earlier in July 1976 at Jacksonville, FL, for possession of stolen property, DWI, and carrying a concealed weapon. Duane had 26 known arrests between 1942 and 1976 alone, that are on file with the FBI. As Larry Carr pointed out minor arrests would not be included in the FBI's records. So obviously Duane was not "well liked" by everyone, which may be an understatement! Ask Jo if Duane was ever arrested during their partnership? Moreover Jo has said that Duane changed his lifestyle, his appearance, and was basically in hiding after 1971 and (his) hijacking of Flight 305, but Duane's arrests between 1971-1976 and his actual lifestyle including his alleged trip back to Washington with Jo in 1979, do not fit the profile of someone in hiding. Jo has never claimed that Duane took special precautions and hid himself from view during their trip back to the State of Washington. And so far as I know, Jo has never produced one item of documentation that such a trip even happened! A hotel receipt. Gas receipts. Anything? Jo places great emphasis on this trip she and Duane supposedly took to Washington in 1979, so you would think she would be anxious to document every aspect of the trip she can, especially as it relates to her claims that Duane gave clues to being DB Cooper. Jo has never issued any proof of any kind for anything she claims Duane did and said, during this alleged trip 'back' to Washington. Jo was asked about this once before and I think she excused herself from supplying any documentation, and the subject was dropped and has not come up since, unless I am mistaken? Jo. Could you supply us with proof that you and Duane took a trip to Washington in 1979? Anything.

There were no "sightings" of the airliner as it passed through the Portland area. The Janet story, and other such claims, are nonsense. I think the sightings Jo is referring to were in the Ariel area, not Portland. Jo refers to newspaper accounts - those accounts refer to the Ariel area. Jo's logic, or somebody's logic given to Jo, is if the plane was sighted near Ariel (headed east?), then the plane had to be east of V23 and came in over Troutdale just as Thomas claims. Jo seems to be adopting Jerry's Troutdale claim ? Jo may also be using Rataczak as a source for an east route. Jo is ecclectic. It is a total waste of time to engage Jo on any of these subjects. Her skills set is not 'adequate'.

NO, NO you were not there. NOTE that Sluggo also changed the time lines - moving the time lines was NOT the right thing to do. I watched this map platting change over the yrs. The word of those on the plane must mean something. Yet a group of Geeks can change the time line which changed the location of the plane at those given time. Try it - back up the time line and you get the route I have told you about. Check all of the sitings of the plane - they ARE NOT West of Portland. Someone use some common sense - follow the sitings and read the old news papers - the siting are to the East not to the West. Things like this are WHY the crime has NOT been solved. Earth to Jo Weber ? Jo, you are writing utter nonsense and cult fiction here. It is well beyond the point where you can have any influence whatever in this matter, here or otherwise.

They stated they used another map - when Sluggo was there. 1972 - what this map showed was the name of a designation that was the same as the one on the old maps. It was a map marking designation...but showed this to be further N or S than then old map. They used this to alter the projected flight path making it go West of Portland instead of EAST of Portland. This new flight path map they created then put the flight West of Portland. WRONG!. It also caused the flight path itself to shift. Shift it back like the map used by the Pilots and it puts the plane East of Vancover and over if NOT East of Troutdale Air Strip. Jo, Here we go again! The map I mentioned above, or the Jeppesen version of it, is the map that the flight crew used between Portland and Seattle that afternoon and the one they used on the flight south that evening. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about this. It was MANDATORY that the flight crew use that map because they were flying under IFR conditions. When the airliner turned at Mayfield Intersection (now Malay Intersection) to track directly to the PDX VORTAC (now known as the BTG VORTAC) they were already well west of Portland. For them to fly around Portland on the east side simply does not make sense. It would have added about 15 miles to their flight path and they could not have been at a point they stated they were at south of Portland at the stated time if they had gone east of Portland. In the radio transcripts while on the ground in Seattle, the crew discussed the maps and approach plates they had asked Al Lee to get for them. The navigational and approach information they were provided, in the same box with the meals Cooper had requested, was all FAA approved information and supplemental to the maps and approach plates they already had on the airliner. Since the airliner was above an overcast as it passed through the Portland area, the flight crew could not see the ground to navigate visually. So they used exactly the same map, or its Jeppesen equivalent, that is now posted on Sluggo's web page. There is no way to get around the above. The airliner was NEVER east of Portland! And in addition to that, everyone interviewed at the Troutdale airport said flight 305 "did not" pass over here "or we would have known about it". Every official associated with Troutdale and at the airport on the day of the hijacking or later, was very firm that Flight #305 did not pass over their airport. Two said they 'knew' the airplane (305) passed west of here, close to Portland. The FBI was never at the Troutdale airport or contacted the Troutdale airport in connection with the hijacking. This had to be checked out because (1) Jerry Thomas was contending Ralph and Rataczak said, 'the plane crossed the Columbia at the Troutdale airport', and (2) because of the report Washougal, of a Washougal Washdown Theory mentioned by Palmer and others. In addition, one FBI agent involved in the excavation at Tina's Bar said he was operating under the assumption and had been told flight 305 passed over the Troutdale airport, and the money at Tina Bar had come down the Columbia from the Washougal River. The people at Troutdale were very firm in their interviews, however. That flight 305 had NOT passed over their airport on the night of the hijacking. In fact one official asked me during one phone conversation: "Who is peddling that story. We never heard this before? Its common knowledge the flight passed at PDX." I gave the name "Jerry Thomas". The official responded, "I never heard of him before and he is wrong". There is a standing rumor that 'people at the Troutdale airport were gathered to watch 305 go by'. We could find no corroboration for that rumor and several officials associated with the airport told us it never happened, to their knowledge. One characterised the idea as laughable. That rumor may have been spawned by a reporter in Washington, who is known to have had many conversations with Jo Weber. That rumor may be the rumor Jo Weber is now citing? Why would Jo Weber surface with this right now?

There were people at the Trout airstrip hoping to get a view of the plane. Never heard if they actually did. Who are these people ? Name them. You cant! You cant because its only gossip you received and never was anything more than gossip you received. Its all very old gossip, in any event. This is so old it might as well be 'Noah and the Ark in Washington' - its that silly, literally. Your statement above is either a complete fabrication on your part. Or very old gossip you are now revisiting and posting. Because I think I know exactly where you got this and from whom and I think I know why you are posting it now. Oh! and by the way, it is Troutdale not "Trout". And not "Crappie" either... This is a crystal-clear example of how Jo Weber makes things up from gossip she has received. Moreover, if her version above is true, which it isnt, it would revise her previous accounts of where Duane bailed and got 'out of the woods', as supplied by hints & clues from Duane, during their trip to WA, Jo says ... Name these people "at the Trout airstrip" you cite above! Any name will do. I want to know if they match any of the names on my list, that we on the Science Team interviewed! Thanks! G. I wasn't the one having their Dropzone ID used to make multiple phony posts (and pretty ugly ones) credited to me. That would be YOU, Bob Knoss, a few others. There was one attempt, which I squashed pretty quickly. This is one advantage I have by posting up under a REAL identity. Being made a fool of publicly on a published article, and then calling it someone else's problem...well, I don't think I will comment any further on that. Remember, your first incarnation of this accused me of "being" that person; and posting nasty stuff about you? Was pretty funny for me sitting here since I didnt even have a url to the site! It then took six months to get you to admit maybe it wasnt me, since it turned out it wasnt others here posting there, either. Now the plot thickens. Now here you are at it again, knowing it has nothing to do with me, but you are still pumping away trying to get blood out of a stone, claiming I should be concerned for some reason. I'm not in a position to interview people who have claimed to witness bad weather, so I'm doing what I can. If anyone is ever able to interview a "witness" I would hope the interviewer would know what the questions should be and how to evaluate the answers. I would be hoping to understand why their stories conflict with authoritive data. I doubt that any of the witnesses will have any specific info, so how do you evaluate vague claims? Personal perception is part of this. I'm not presuming any of the "witnesses" are idiots or liars. I'm not thinking about witnesses in general. I'm thinking about "witnesses" who have apparently said they were out FLYING in terrible weather that night. How would such a person recognize this terrible weather in the dark if they've not flown at least a few times in moderate weather during the day? How would a person distinguish terrible weather from a little rain while in the dark with a big fan beating the little rain down against the windows and fuselage unless the person had been in that situation at least a few times? The discussion about bad weather during the hijacking has been around a long time. It is complicated because there have been claims that are not consistent with our limited data from a trusted govt source. We are not complicating it. It is complicated and I am trying to deal with it. What discussion there has been of this is simply because I asked for it. I'm trying to do what analysis can be done regarding the weather that night. I would like us to do what we can about that weather rather than flitting from topic to topic without ever settling anything. There are multiple discussions going on here. I participate in some and skip others. If you have some topic you want to address, go ahead and do it. If I think I have anything to contribute I'll be happy to. Im going to say this just for the sake of saying it - I take the data as the primary evidence. Everything else is secondary pending the discovery of different data. I tend to think some of the people making ground reports are confusing Nov24th with what happened later starting on the 26th. The 'alleged' reports of Rataczak saying there was turbulence in the 8:00pm period, is unconfirmed so far as I am concerned, but of interest. I dont know where anyone gets the idea I was trumpeting BAD-SEVERE weather over wx data! We have discussed this so many times, so long ... its almost a worn out topic. We discussed a conference call and you used TTY (you said) and would need that? This is what I recall. I told you I could use a facility I have which gives the deaf the ability type and have their words become audio ... what was that all about!? You and JT brought it up! I didnt invent this! I just read my mail. I apologize if I somehow made a mistake. My credentials are not in the area of psychiatry per se but in ed-psych measurement. I was an evaluator and test designer working for the govt. Go back and read the thread, Robert99. Its all there. I am not "stone deaf" or "totally deaf" and have not made such a statement to anyone, but I do have a hearing problem in the critical frequencies for human speech. Consequently, the use of voice phones does not work for me. Well thanks ! At least Im not dreaming this.
