377 coughed out "Snow, take a break from your research in Iceland and task your stable of Russian novelists with creating a plot storyboard" funny you should mention that. My latest contact is from Netherlands. I'm thinking "Netherlands? WTF is that? Windmills? Then I'm thinking about Orange1, and thinking, "It's all about South Africa." I gotta find out more about this Netherlands stuff. I think Switzerland is done since the bankers there got raked over the coals. Slovenia may not be the next "it". Netherlands. Gotta be nimble. If Obama can accept a peace prize and give a speech about war, then Snowmman Industries can redirect to Netherlands.

Someone posted a comment on the NYT review, about Damon not saying much and the difficulty of getting the accent right... the reference to "South African subtle flavoring of Dutch/Afrikanns" got me fantasizing about what Orange1 sounds like in real life ....:) re: 1995. We're talking about 1971 with Cooper. So 1995, is like, yesterday. :) http://movies.nytimes.com/movie/405513/Invictus/overview "Damon's wooden and constrained rendering of Pienaar. He seemed almost reluctant to open his mouth. Those southern hemisphere English accents (Aussie dipthongs, Kiwi vowels that can cut glass, South African subtle flavoring of Dutch/Afrikanns) are really tough for Americans to mimic. During the movie, I thought, "Damon's must have had a tough time with the accent, they constrained his lines to limit the chance of a slip-up." The few lines he had, he spoke reasonably well, but very limited in range. He's been a good actor elsewhere; I doubt that Pienaar is so steely and impassive in real life."

Okay so Geoff's done. Now we got to get started on the next book...what book needs to be written for 2011? (edit) I guess what I'm thinking is, that it's hard to picture that Geoff might have something new in there. Is it possible? Could Geoff have dug up something we don't know? He did have special access to Larry. I'm not implying romantic, although I don't know. He is from New York.

Thanks Erroll. I was reading a review, and thought "I don't need to read, I can just ask someone right there!"

we've seen all the colored sketches before, but here's a copy of the Roy Rose sketch that looks slightly different to me. (attached) I didn't compare it, but it seems a little different. Maybe it's just that I get a different feel from it. (it's b/w) from the book "Forensic art and illustration" by Karen T. Taylor http://books.google.com/books?id=_o339PWQbxAC&pg=PA27#v=onepage&q=&f=false Some good examples of forensic sketches that matched suspects in the book. like http://books.google.com/books?id=_o339PWQbxAC&pg=PA28#v=onepage&q=&f=false http://books.google.com/books?id=_o339PWQbxAC&pg=PA29#v=onepage&q=&f=false http://books.google.com/books?id=_o339PWQbxAC&pg=PA33#v=onepage&q=&f=false http://books.google.com/books?id=_o339PWQbxAC&pg=PA34#v=onepage&q=&f=false You can scroll thru the book for more. 377 suggested "...very clever people who left no visible ingress egress evidence around the crop circle perimeter. I bet you or Snow could figure out how to do them." The DBC thread here is a crop circle of sorts.

The distance between Reykjavik, IC and Oslo, NO is about 1084 miles. However, the distance between Lukovica, SI (Slovenia) and Kranjska Gora, SI is only 49 miles.

People will say this has nothing to do with LDS. I like Jon Krakauer's writing. Under the Banner of Heaven was a good read. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_the_Banner_of_Heaven (edit) from a NYT book review of same: "Certainly the picture of religion presented in the book is unflattering. Linking the Laffertys to Mormon history means stressing its violent and authoritarian aspects. And of course neither of these is an invention of Krakauer's. (Polygamous societies in general tend toward authoritarianism, as the anthropologist Laura Betzig has shown. She attributes this to the need of powerful men to control not just women but the understandably unsettled lower-status males who, through the grim mathematics of polygamy, go mateless.) Still, it would have been nice to see some of religion's upside. Something must explain the vibrancy of mainstream Mormonism, and I doubt it's just the dark energy of residual authoritarianism. Religion, like patriotism, can nurture virtue within the group even while directing hostility beyond it. "

http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Movies/12/10/invictus/index.html With the World Cup now in South Africa, Clint Eastwood's take on Mandela/Rugby/Pienaar is interesting. while I realize it's a sensitive thing, and only 1994, it'd be interesting to hear Orange1's take on whether Eastwood is off base or ?? It sounds like quite the positive story.

Statistically unlikely is one thing, actual occurrence is another. How statistically likely is it that someone will win the lottery - but people do? How statistically likely is it to get struck by lightning in the same place twice - yet people do? Perhaps more appropriate, how statistically likely is it that a skydiver will hit the only obstacle in a huge field - but they do? Snow, the tie pin theory - surely someone in the FBI, especially those who thought McCoy was Cooper, would have put 2 +2 together on the tie pin? Do you think maybe Chevron Man was Cooper? Duane wanted to blackmail him? Georger's connection with the tie clip assumes some uniqueness about the tie clip. I produced a picture of a similar tie clip. Newspaper ads around the same time had drawings more than pictures, but had the mother of pearl sets like I showed, available widely (and cheap). If they were widely available, then there's nothing to bother thinking about. Duane? There is nothing about Duane that makes him any more likely than anyone else. It's interesting: If Cooper's goal was to bail out near Portland, would the FBI had still said he was a dumb ass? Does the dumb ass only apply if the DZ was the woods. Jumping at night in a light drizzle, with a plan somewhere near Portland. I guess you might say that was dumbass because of the high probability of landing on buildings/wires/water. But it would make more sense for saying "dumbass" rather than focusing on shoes.

So Sluggo: you're proposing that no one I cared about has ever died, and that only a future dog death will be the first time I confront the problems of everyone's guaranteed mortality? That's an interesting theory. Now I will grant there's a sensitivity to the word "murder" which has all sorts of negative stuff. But it's amazing to me, what gets people going, and what is "okay". Jo can rant about "Rogue Rangers" etc...that's okay. But talk about a recent death in some unacceptable way ..oh boy! Reminds me of Gilbert Godfrey at the Friars' Club: "Gottfried famously told the venerable Aristocrats joke at a Friars Club roast of Hugh Hefner just three weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks. Gottfried's quick wit saved what could have been a notorious disaster. He began his monologue joking that he had intended to catch a plane, but couldn't get a direct flight because "they said they have to connect with the Empire State Building first." Audience members nervously responded with gasps and cries of "Too soon!". Gottfried first thought this was relating to the speed of his joke." If you want to respect someone who just died, talking about him is the way to do it. Talking about the survivors is just talking about the survivors. Who cares about them? they're still alive. Let's hear some Tosaw stories! (edit) Or hell! why no comments on the TSA doc?

I am an evil Sith Lord*, masquerading as a Cooper Buff. Peace is a lie; there is only passion. Through passion; I gain strength. Through strength; I gain power. Through power; I gain victory. Through victory; my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. (* Characterized by their single-minded pursuit of power and disdain for sentient life, they are an alliance of warrior mages who use the dark side of the Force and serve as counterparts to the Jedi Knights.) I honestly can't think of anything clever to top the proposition that someone would "pose" as a "Cooper Buff". Hmm. Maybe a proposition that people went to Tosaw's funeral just to steal toilet paper? Hey Tosaw: Good Life. I read about some of the other searches you did. Even though it sounds glib, I think Tosaw meant it when he said he just did things that he thought were fun or interesting.

If I'm a jerk, what would someone who isn't a jerk say after your post, Jo?

Has the POOF Master revealed himself? We shall see. I assume he can make things reappear. Snow, please unPOOF that photo Jo saw of the inmate smoke jumpers. OK? Oh, and one more request: do the same for the Night Clerk's hotel register showing John Collins' visit. 377 You bastard! How dare you insult Jo like that! We as a group apologize for your actions. I still can't get this thing where people want to make this forum out to be some kind of big kumbaya sewing circle where something is actually happening that's useful or socially redeeming. it's just one small step from World of Warcraft online gaming. Anyone that believes otherwise, is in the Jo boat. (edit) If I post this link, is it offensive or just random or actually pretty nicely done? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xYs5g4STiE&feature=related

"We as a group" does not include me. If there are others in your group, you should name them. Hey! I'm on Tosaw's side here. Bullshit sentimentality from someone who never knew Tosaw is the problem I see. Georger: If Tosaw was your buddy, tell us more about him. I'll listen.
-
Did skyjack71 just call me a jerk? It's showtime then! (edit) Jo: since the gloves are off. If you thought for a second that Tosaw was murdered, you have no sense of reality. Honest. That's the nicest way I can say it. (edit) To everyone else. Please do not investigate Jo's subjects. I am in the process of removing all information about them from the internet. Will be done soon.
-
The best tip of the hat to Tosaw would be to finally say he was probably right about Cooper landing in the water!
-
Are people that feel fine with trashing someone while they're alive, but then get all weepy when they're dead. If someone here has a personal connection to Tosaw, then just say it and I'll apologize. Otherwise you're just full of shit. How many other "currently alive guys" all of a sudden get hands off treatment when they're dead? Does Jo get different treatment when she's dead? When she's dead it won't matter.
-
Could you curb your trolls, enthusiasm, or whatever it is? You didnt know Tosaw or any of his family. I did and I dont appreciate your 'shit' about this. Grow up. Thanks for the feedback.

Here's the TSA manual with current screening procedures, with the redacting removed. I hate when I read a news story, and they don't provide a link to the source material. http://cryptome.org/tsa-screening.zip I scanned the doc and all I could think was "what a tangled web we weave". .. If the safety of planes in the air is dependent on wide numbers of US citizens implementing stuff as described in the doc above, well, that's interesting technology deployment. Seems unsustainable, but who knows. (edit) interesting they have sample badges in there of various kinds starting on page 58. (edit) Oh yeah, forgot this: Sensitive Security Information Warning: This record contains sensitive security information that is controlled under 49 CFR Parts 15 and 1520. No part of this record may be disclosed to persons without a "Need To Know," as defined in 49 CFR Parts 15 and 1520, except with the written permission of the administrator of the Transportation Security Administration or the Secretary of Transportation. how bizarre. The combined stool and periscope is patented in 1977 the collapsible periscope in 1980. Both pre-Cooper! And he revisits it for the obama inauguration. Who would patent a combined stool and periscope in 1977? It looks like it needs a toilet paper holder.

I didn't see the tv show but the video is available online (full) from cbs. Cool! unedited. No commercials (except at the very beginning) http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/video/?pid=oHrz_3IZlOVEy5h_wE0MoMCMaUDc852L&vs=Default&play=true They've got 4 short 2 minute clips of highlights In Odds of Survival, they even have the little cardboard box idea for the Cooper FBI evidence, and some classic photos that people will recognize. The clips are probably all you want to see: (although I liked the opening of the 44 minute one ..Its cool when they realize they've got the old bills) We're All Money http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/video/?pid=4O23r2flnBqbSXUWOm6moJQ_ChjgYFoN&vs=Default&play=true Odds of Survival http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/video/?pid=Iqi9AeljsMlyWQ_x8TKKvf_AHrV_Yhg6&vs=Default&play=true Pay Back http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/video/?pid=rYcEKIGBd4Npw_swa6sK96fSvMcs_erP&vs=Default&play=true About Revenge http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs/video/?pid=pZ_SXbMgkt512AkoYrpDUOW5vGgC6krw&vs=Default&play=true Weird the Numb3rs thing turns into a murder, and Tosaw was just murdered. Connected? In Odds of Survival, the math guy points out how bogus the LZ prediction was. (edit) I updated the short clip order so they're in the same order as the show (I think)

I've often been tempted, but you get to claim the first rickroll of the Cooper thread. Now we need someone to autotune some of the Larry Carr video, to be modern-viral-complete.

I remember reading about his periscopes. He sold them for political rallies. He had a bunch made up with Obama stuff on them. The idea being you could see while standing in the crowd. Here's the story on the Obama Scope. http://www.news10.net/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=52702 Picture is there, along with some recent vid of Tosaw.

377 said "Travolta should be in the movie, just beacuse he likes aviation so much. His cult stuff is wacky but he is reported to be a nice guy off the set and out of the "church." He is type rated in a 747 so getting qualified to fly a leased 727 sholdnt be a big problem. Travolta as Rat, would that work?" Brilliant Casting! I can actually see Travolta and rat physically matching appearance..Travolta would bring a lot to the role. Of course that means, we'd have to get Rat involved in the post-Cooper escapades to south africa with gold. But that'll work. re-write! I can see Travolta bringing the 727 down on the dirt strip now, with 377 hanging out the SIDE door spotting the landing and yelling into the stew phone ....
