  1. The flying the wrong way shit is funny......... Not to the sponsor.
  2. How many Socal birds will be around Elsinore-Perris April 20-23 specifically during the Tony suit demo visit for some flocking of bigger than average size?
  3. He has been doing the micro turbine + WS thing for over three years. I saw the setup while the show was filming at Perris. I didn't know the goal was 5 min flights. That rig looked like it was ready for V-tol, now thats what I want to see! Forget landing a WS lift off from the deck thats the ticket.
  4. That tri I just picked up a few weeks ago came with two sets of links on the rears. What effect was the previous owner trying to get with this set up? Anything related to openings or just trimming it for steeper hands off flight? It opens softly and it is not the version 4 mod line set.
  5. They can do whatever they want out there in the dirt. ltdiver As long as it looks "epic".
  6. That lucky bastard can scuba off his back porch, and a dry suit is a must. I wouldn't be surprized to hear he was in the dry suit during the snohomish dive either.
  7. Lucky the sea lions didn't come out and steal your kibbles. Or is it so remote you don't even hear them at night?
  8. Happy birthday mamamamamamamazon. Thats how Robert Plant would have sang it.
  9. I paid them to do an H-mod on the canopy. At that time I was jumping a Crossfire which I bought cheap and used just to save my neck. When I started jumping the Cobalt again I could not believe the openings. They were softer than any Spectre or Crossfire I have ever jumped and most important, really consistent. The improvement in performance was also noticeable; Ronaldo I have been wanting to hear opinions in the comparisons of an H-modded cobalt and the x-fires.........anybody else?
  10. That was an interesting teaser? IS he planning on a little west coast action? Scott C. I'm simply inviting, which is really Ed's job.
  11. Oh nice! The guy that re-invented the modern wingsuit and made it possible for every averagly skilled skydiver to flock like only a rare few were able to previously and ALL you have to offer him is some canadian blended whiskey??????!!!???? Where is the Jack brothers? If Robi comes to Lodi flockage you can bet there will be some burbon ( premium ) and some locally crafted wine if he likes that too. We won't mention tequila but it always finds itself onto the table.
  12. Can't wait to fly with my fellow Texicans! BF Are you bringing your mariachi costume? Flockalajara.....flockalajara!!!....ieeeee ieeee yahhh!
  13. Most of my WS jumps are on an elliptical at 1.4. Its a balance thing. It opens on heading and does not dive on the very rare line twists due to lighter loading. I use to fly the same canopy in a smaller size at 1.6 but after converting it with an H-mod the snivel lasted so long it got me into trouble more often than not. Lately my WS friends have been using reserves as mains. WE flock along and I pull high enough to accommodate my 700'-ish snivel and be legal and safe. They fly for quiet a few seconds longer, glide closer to the DZ and pull high enough for their 250 foot snivel-pop. We end up at the same alti but they are further than those of us that pulled higher. Downside to their system is that they must open above the DZ as their canopy does not glide quite as far as 9 cell ZP. My back up WS rig will be equiped more like this than my primary rig.
  14. I can't figure out the solution to that. Kris. Micro turbines fool!
  15. You will never hear a valid reason why it won't work for wingsuits....... a reason doesn't exist seriously. The parameters for wingsuit rigs are less demanding than say freeflying. Not all of the wingsuit rig mods are needed by everybody. Thousands of nice wingsuit deployments were brought to us on rigs without open corners and with standard factory bridles. Sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear. I hope this helps and I hope this doesn't start an absurd argue-tread taking us nowhere.
  16. I vote for vector......but...
  17. Issues, well you know: a mortguage, car payments, insurance payments, my daughters, a wife that does not work, blah blah blah.. I basically suck for not going Scott C. Your issues are my exact issues, bro! We do not suck! We are just domestically destabilized for long travel flocking.
  18. You are not going Scott? I talked to Kathy today and she mentioned something like 70 registered.
  19. Paul>Who's the other baldhead? The bald eagles rule!!! Sean>You talkin' about me? I gots a full head of hair now. Neither of you head jobs. The one I'm talking about is on the snow in Alaska now. Paul you gotz to come in may, plenty time to get current!
  20. First on the list ....yeah! And I'll bring the other baldhead, not you Paul.
  21. Is that and FB-111 ( Foto-boy ), Matt?
  22. I have performed all of the above after having more than a few hundred jumps experience, while none of my students have done any of the above with the exception of landing out and that was one in one hundred. With the exception of hitting the plane all the other items were just about intentional on my part.
  23. You got to admit Chuck there is a great deal of use of " the numbers" in reference to personal performance. I wouldn't say just in the states but in the world of wingsuits and specifically this forum. You can't help the single WS pilot on the dropzone using it as reference as they don't have any other source of information. I haven't looked at times in several hundred WS jumps personally and I can't tell you what they are in my latest suit. But more importantly I can tell you the distance covered, I can tell you how much more I will have to work to catch the very best flockers, that I have the opportunity to jump with, when we are both maxed out. I can tell you we don't see tandems anymore from the same exit point as they are several thousand feet below us now by the time we get over their loitering area. All of this would be easier if I flew from fixed objects, but I don't and I don't rely on timers or GPS.
