I built one and plan to build more. You are exchanging the value of your personal time( cheap materials, labor intensive ) compared to paying someone to quarry natural stone, mill and polish it and install. Check out the concrete exchange .com for resources. PM if you have questions.

Being familiar with freeflying isn't a bad thing when transitioning to wingsuits. Every so often a first timer will wingover on their first exit due to being too stiff and exiting asymmetrically. They end up in a shallow head down carve. Those familiar with this position won't panic. Free flyers do that very exit on purpose. Also Suits like the Acro are a proficient freeflyers dream. Opening up the possibilities of the ordinary flock. Kind of like an Atmonuati on steriods.

Primus is a much, much better band. "Primus the Rush without the pomp and hype"

How many regular wingsuiters can be found flying wingsuits on any given weekend at Eloy? I'm sure there are many suits owned by Eloy regulars but I'm asking about the ones that regularly fly them.

A high sweep angle is not efficient in a wing suit. Of course Robi and Jari will disagree on this one. Swept-back wings were designed to address the issues related to supersonic flights. I also disagree with Robi with his analogy to the Space Shuttle. This “aircraft” is not an airplane per se There are some aircraft that use swept back wings to deal with weight and balance issue and they fly well below mach one. Supersonic isn't the only reason for sweeps. In these fixed shape airfoils the sweeps biggest disadvantage is the spanwise flow of air. I dont believe there is much span wise flow in wingsuits and the sweep helps us in keeping balance centered and pitch angle at the right degree. The space shuttle could be considered a "lifting body" like the flying bathtub that started the data gathering for the concept. Come to think of it I've flown in flocks with people that could be considered flying bathtubs. If we look at the bathtub and craft like the HL-10 we can see the closest mechanized flying application to our wingsuits.

What is the name of this clip? Is it a new submission? There is alot of that stuff coming out.

Hey now, there is no drifting back. Get with the flock!
-
And yes, a few of the Lodi crew have to make up for some grab assing....... I reminded them of that last weekend. Be dsafe Ed If there is still a need for that kind of stuff its OK if kriss grabs mine as long as she is gentle.

Thread drift......... and the west coast flock is dusting off their wings. Be safe Ed Yes I know its drift but this will actually be of more use to the originator. The core from lodi has some representing to do if I'm not mistaken. I trust them to keep grab assing in the base down to a minimum the next time around. That was fun! BTW Here is some more drift for you, we will have a nice video done up lickity split this time.

Yeah, so when is the next "event"?? Scott C. Yup, Salivating at the thought. I've got some built up back pressure since being weathered out in Nov and I need to release it.

Rocco is ANAL! He gets those euro honeys that will do anything for a couple of lira.

I gots my Bird-Man Blade! (with obligatory office pic)
VectorBoy replied to Costyn's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Thank you Scott, due to the resolution of the pic I still can't tell if it is the same but we will see soon enough as it seems there will be a few in circulation. -
Incommers: no more facials its all about the cream pie. Holy shit, I just realized this is the first real response. I'm embarrased.

Pry scallop of rock with knife or tool. Scoop off shell and enjoy! Surfacing to the dive boat is optional and only required if there are scavenger fish trying to mooch your catch out of the corners of your mouth. Thats pretty healthy.

>Hmm, it is smooth plastic material, but I'm not sure that is what is used for hanggliders. Jussi's Wing had the reinforcing strands sandwiched between two clear layers of plastic. It looks like heavy duty version of packing tape. Thanks for the timely pictures. -

Congrats little Buckaroo! It looks nice. Can you shoot us a pic of the leading edge? The example I saw had hang glider material there, does yours? Can I have your S-6 if you don't want it anymore? I checked FLB classified and a see a couple up for grabs. -
You are correct nobody knows. The real answer is time will tell. There has been a bit of good advice about waiting to demo and some speculation. But over 70% of this thread is WS forum breakroom grudge match with poor Tom waiting in the corner to blow his whistle! Silly!....... I'm not saying I don't enjoy it though. The reality is skydivers have a very short incubating period. We are not patient. We want things to happen at 30 frames pre second. A friend of mine just made a decision about buying or not buying a new suit that hasn't even been released yet, no press statement not even a picture. He has got 4 other suits, jeesh what is the rush on the 5th. These are trying times of the patience of a flocker with new designs coming out from Fly your body, Matter, Bird man and Pheonix! Come on Pheonix has two new suits ( sorry one new and one in developement at 30 frames per second) and a tracking suit new this year. Is it any wonder I hit the crack pipe?

dont let the planes deter you from coming, you will heve a blast no matter what!!!!! Guaranteed! This will be the peak WS event for this continent even if you had to jump out of a formation of five kingairs it will be epic.

He could be snide with all of us, so far for his troubles in asking a question he has half a page of post that could be considered profile discrimination, a few realistic but off hand replies that don't help, a handfull of usable responses. Over two pages of thread drift and double topic hijacks with references to individuals and other treads going back years with huge differences of opinions. I think he has got the right to be furious with all of us. Frankly I'm dissapointed. Did we all turn into speakers corner clones?

You are reading your co-ordinates wrong soldier! I am not anti instructor per se. but I am totally anti fraud instructor. Big difference ! Back in the day we, you and me frickin all of us, knew who they were. Today things are better. Much better! This is the absolute gospel although I reserve the right to tease you. Mostly cuz I do like you and its funny and I will say you are not a fraud. You contribute. The frauds never did, not one of them. Its not important that you don't believe me either.
-
That is precisely why I recommend you guys by name in the get to the flocks post. Oh and BTW I have over 900 flights none of which were below a 2.35 glide slope the entire time and I'm not even an instructor.
-
All right thats it I'm gonna sharpshoot your profile!!! Take them apples!

This was generic speak about the bigger, higher performance suits, in a worst case scenario. It was not meant in a scare tactic manner. In my opinion (and yes, just like assholes, we all have one), i think its not a bad idea to get a bit of experience on smaller suits, where the risks of potential problems are reduced, before going out and ordering the highest performance suit you can find. I think everyone should make informed choices about gear. I was just trying to provide some information.

Ever heard of (or had) a skydiving dream where you bounce, stand up and brush yourself off, I've heard that a lot. I must be weird I've never had the bounce dream. I've had the fly my body dream a lot but the scariest thing that happens is I go so fast I escape orbit, can't breath and wake up. True!
