Sorry, but those people are gay and so is the BM site now Come to think of it, maybe there's something in the name... Bird/Man. Sorta has tranny connotations anyone want to buy a birdman suit? Ya mean like going to a chicken house? I dumped all my BM suits, gave people good deals. Don't want nuffin from em, least of which any brand association.

Isn't Lamborginni primarily a tractor company, with a few bicycles mixed in along with the supercars?

I'm an Oldie - Why I'm Disappointed
VectorBoy replied to NickDG's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'll close with an actual story from the Perris school. A new student This guy had far, far more opportunities than I had when I started. There are organizers that will actually jump with him. Still, he faces the same sort of "there's no place for a newbie like me" problems that I had (and I suspect you had) when first starting out. I never understood this whine. Being a jumper from the 80's that came back into it in the late 90s, and a very good friend of mine that came back from jumping in the 70s also, we were ecstatic to be able to get a bunch of jumps in a day that we couldn't get in on during the old days...... even if they were solos. We both came back to dabble in free flying so it takes a bunch of solos. That is your place working on fundamentals. AND if an organizer ( thank Perris for this) invited you on a jump and then back again after the initial then that was just icing on the cake. If you were over your head they didn't have you back. But make no mistake, I don't need all of that more stuff and don't feel the need to subsidize it. As an example my disciplines require specialty jump runs ( supposed big hassle with a big premium jump prices) as opposed to specialty aircraft which are for a select few yet subsidized by everybody. My kids have more time in the hair dryer in the parking lot than I do. -
Ren I was just making a joke, not directed at anyone. Well maybe a little towards those short on social skills.

I'm an Oldie - Why I'm Disappointed

I started in the mid eighties but in Europe and it was a club mentality for sure. First jump was $7 static line. We didn't have AFF or tandem. We knew of them, seen pictures. No body on the DZ had upgraded to the 3 ring yet but everybody wanted to. I took a decade and change off. Love the new gear, well my vector is twenty years old but its new compared to the stuff we had to rent in our club. The culture has totally changed and I don't regret all of the changes but I draw the line when someone insists that we are all still a big family........... NO its pure business now. The bigger the DZ the more this is true. I know when I'm just a number. And to the guy minding the books numbers come and go. -
Vert was skater talk from back in the 70s. As delinquents that hopped fences to skate pools that were emptied. This is bad, sometimes my dad would go with us, Dadliquent. People thought that they could save money during the winter if the pool was empty. When someone found a pool the rest of us would ask if it was good for "vert". Grinding on the coping got old real quick. But vert is one sylable so Hori should just be.......

The classic. The GTI and Skyflyer1 were out then but the only 3 was Jari's personal one.

Plenty with inferior wingsuiting skills out there and the genes to go with 'em. But for the most part their social skills are so low the worst of em will never make their own babies.

"Mostly" nice people

Part of me wishes that people would stop bringing up Lodi. Everyone knows its stupid cheap there and every time it shows up, it makes people feel even shittier about the prices they have to pay at home. Like the people at Lodi want to stick it to everyone else and show how much "better" they are. Just frustrating. I'm not from Lodi but lucky enough to get up there a few times a year. Lodi has very nice people there and none of them want to "stick" it to anybody about what they have. That stick you are feeling shittier about is a result of issues local to your dropzone(s), you should remember that. A dropzone local to me went to $25 at the first of the year. Then a few months later to $26, then a week later to $27. 8000' jumps became $24 bucks. Can't blame Lodi for that! Maybe we can all blame skyride.

I've had mine, a standard XT, kill two CF cards. Maybe due to low battery power?!? I dunno. Once it was turned on with the bite switch jack inserted only have way, after a quick turn off ERR99 and the CF card was dead. A few weeks ago everything is fine taking pictures on the ground, still snapping pictures under canopy. Once the ground ERR99 another dead CF card.

Other people's objects, every object out there belongs to somebody that never intended it to be jumped. All of the granite in Yosemite is owned by this middle aged jewish guy and he does not want his granite jumped anymore. Whats your point? Similar NYNY objects have anti-jumper hardware. Now thats a serious owner-Nigel tufnel voice off. That object was just high profile, mandatory dayblazing required, must have plan. Jumpers are not a problem, Taggers are a problem. Their mark is weak I don't relate. Anybody want to host a first jump course to taggers. teach them not to defile the object, respect the object.

Incidentally, there are HUNDREDS of free-use copyright libraries online, plus loads of free creative tools. At our DZ, we use a combination of my own products (TrackPacks) royalty free music, and music I've specifically written using Sony ACID and Cakewalk SONAR. Yeah but most of the royalty free jams are kinda weak. Like that band will never get discovered. Its a bit like going to the comodore club for the latest software.

But first you have to learn the secret hand shake
-
That object was never everybodys..... Anybody else would have gone somewhere else all nite long and still do. That object was a target for those that dare, he did. It has nothing to do with any of your objects the ones that are still safe. Its not about respect for your safe objects. Stop whining like a belly faller about respect.

What's the difference between a PD Storm and a Spectre?
VectorBoy replied to rhys's topic in Gear and Rigging
I saw the JFXs in person and wan't to try one. I was really impressed with the concept. I doubt it will be on the market for a while. Can't wait to see which avenue gains more popularity in competition CRW. Loaded up 7 cells or 21 cells. -
Who sez they can't get young people into CRW. Chase you D'man.

VectorBoy replied to rhys's topic in Gear and Rigging
You won't see the lightning phased out for bigger canopy formations sake. Unless someone figures out something with a shallower trim. Most other CRW friendly canopys don't give you enough working time due to steep trim. People do predict the storm will be fine comp canopy. -
Years ago we had the paraflight swift 5 cell. I actually own a swift 7 cell version, it even saved my life once
-
Nice! Was that green SoS some kind 5-cell reserve?

Nice shopping bag of goals. My only goal is to be able to turn 15 points without feeling the burn...again.

He didn't trespass he bought a ticket just like everybody else up there. He just wanted a better view than all the other tourists. Too bad he didn't just tazer the first fool who grabbed him, I know he would have gotten some of the jolt himself. Mace, awh the the whole crowd would be victims, wouldn't work. Hey how about a bikini diversion? Hot chick goes up and drops the coat.... shabaammm!
