Wide leg straps. But not too wide.

Were the campers staring at the flying humans butt? I make the sound of a jet on ascent at about 9,000 ft when the pressure of the fuel escapes from the large combuster through the small combustor to the jet nozzle. Although next to the roaring Pratts you can hardly hear it...... smells like burn't diesel though.

One that you won't mind sliding in on your ass... repeatedly. And the lightning may not be the only canopy choice for CRW. Its what is used for big ways for sure but some fantastic teams have used CRW Triathalons for demo and competition, some other teams have used other brands and models. The Storm is proving popular now but not everybody is going to buy one right away. Most domestic CRW dogs have one or more lightning and it will remain popular for the big ways for some time.

Actually this kind of thing happens at any competition. Someone mentioned these were races, speed or distance(?) ,so its natural. Ever been in the pits at a drag race Scott? You can't say these lads are not getting along. At least until they start to not get along.

You got it, Kris. Good memory. We all jumped together at WFFC in like 2003. Are you sure it was 03? I don't recall, course those days were a daze. -
used wingsuit for a big boy. anyone know of one for sale?
VectorBoy replied to keithbar's topic in Wing Suit Flying
You are a pervert for catching that. -
It will work on a hop & pop rig ( CRW or swoop)but you don't want to use this on a swoop rig that you sometimes freefall with. The bulk can open your lower riser covers enough to make a rig not Free Fall friendly. To anchor it you can wrap once and hand stitch some super tac with follow up wraps to the thickness of your likeing. But I agree with most here in that you don't need it on the rears.

Nice article about a pretty good dude....
VectorBoy replied to diablopilot's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Had I known it was a story about me...i'd have had a different approach to her questions. Like you would not have dwelled on the flat spin......? Its a nice piece. She may have changed the scope of the interview after she had seen the suit and figured skyflying has more intrigue than skydiving. -
Wingsuit Flocking ==> Balloon Suit Flocking?

It would be hyppocratic if I was a BMCI, but Im not..? Right! Lou, My bad that was phrased as a question JMC just answered it. I stand corrected..... on the punctuation part. -

someone call mythbusters. It might just take mythbusters to prove the flat spin does not exist. And the hot red head from the show just might get my suction cup. Seriously on you tube I can watch cheesey AFF vids, malfunctions, base jumper wall strikes and low pulls galore and a few CRW raps but not one single wingsuit flat spin...... maybe the flat spin phenom ascends up and therefore can't be videoed without aircraft film platforms able to climb along with the victim? -
I put 600 jumps on my cobalt and it only needed new brake lowers. I checked the trim against the chart printed on the website. When the time comes my riggers will whip up some lines with those same charts.

You mention redded out of control spin. Is this the dreaded unrecoverable FLAT spin we have been so warned about? How come no video? Of his, of any, anywhere? Class, anyone.....bueller!?! -

Glen, again, I am disappointed at your, as of late, fishing techniques. The answer is no to your question. There is a distinct difference in what you are trying to compare. Manufacturer recognized ratings...... Quote Mine was not a question. Repeat after me "a wingsuit is not a tandem rig or a tandem rating". There isn't one mind in the body of a DZO , S&TA , governing body regional director anywhere that get this confused. You and your mind, I guess, are not one of any of the above NO GOVERNING BODIES HAVE A WING SUIT RATING. < that little thing is a period! 50% of the wingsuit manufacturers don't EVEN have instructor ratings. That would be to include the brand that has multitudes more performance than the ones with instructors, not just some obscure brand with only five prototypes in the sky. Went to their website, no roster of instructors required..... and they are not alone. -

My point being is that the big record ways are as legit and "official" as any factory supported wingsuit instructor program, some of which have been in existence for over 5 years now. Yes the FAI does not recognize WS until we develop something at the national level. And at the national level competition and training wise instructors and competitors don't exist.....until we change that. But I feel sorry if you are a BMCI and saying big records don't exist because they are not recognized....kinda hyppocratic no? -

, but also get the point some raised, on how you can call a record 'official' if there is no 'official' rating involved (even though It doesnt matter if anyone in the biggest flock actually cares about that stuff). Well get the counterpoint that not a single skydiving regulating governing body on the planet encompasses wingsuit instructor within their training program and only a few make references to such even existing yet that doesn't stop people from officially calling themselves one and spending valuable jump money to become one when the rating does not officially exist. comprendee? -

If you can't handle the heat stay in speakers corner. I don't make this shit up its in the archives circa 03,04, 05. If it is embarrassing to the original death spin posters it should be, own it homos. If you are now embarrased on behalf of others about the death spin- spin yer a poofter. Don't be so sensitive. The big ways/ largest flocks ever/ Recordos del mundo can't suck because they involve wingsuits and lots of flockers. Be there doing your best or wish them luck but stop shitting on the concept for what ever reason. Lastly no body cares what you do with your peepee Mccordia unless you are dating a golden shower mermaid and then its just her/him. And you are now diverting this tread way off topic, so say you are sorry and promiss not to talk about peee and you. -
Wingsuit Flocking ==> Balloon Suit Flocking?
VectorBoy replied to mysty429's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Anyone complaining about spins and near death experiences just needs to learn to fly and stop scaring others with made up stories or their own lack of experience when they put the (back then) INSANELY big wings on You know it was primarily the wingsuit instructors of the day that were doing this. (1) so that you sought and payed for instruction through them as they will make things better and (2) so that you didn't go out and buy the same vanity purchase big boy suit as they out of the box and proceed to kick their ass in the sky. BTW I couldn't agree with you more on this topic. I've seen flailing, I've seen head down out of control carving, I've seen bad body posture and poor flight demonstration but have never seen in person or on screen the deadly unrecoverable "flat spin". Stuff of legend. -

Wingsuit Flocking ==> Balloon Suit Flocking?
VectorBoy replied to mysty429's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Yes exactly but you are the football, or the sparrow 3. In no other skydiving disciplines can the variance from first seeing the base to getting to the base be so dramatic. CReW is one but the speeds, distances and levels can vary much more in wingsuits..... And all of this assumes the base is doing it's job of being were it should be with predictable trajectory. Assuming the organizer is laying out a jump that is manageable for the size of flock and not creating built in impossible intercept angles were the late divers are watching a formation disappear over the horizon. As much as we like to pick on a slushy base for not really flying these guys are doing a fabulous job for the current conditions and skills of the average current day flocker. I'm positive the flocks will get faster and allow a base to fly flatter as late divers develope the skills to get there sooner in a disciplined manner. -
Well D Osmond lives out your way, give him a FFC course and tell him to be in Lodi for the the purple ways and his ass will be cool again.........crazy horses!
