The ones that aircraft design engineers put on aircraft are completly different in placement, shape and size. Even the models on the advanced paraglider have a much different frontal shape and overall length. Dr Whitcomb would drag you and the canopy featuring nipples to the wind tunnel ( the horizontal kind ), smoke in hand, if you suggested to him that those do what his winglets do on the subject of vortices. Honestly line over keepers sounds about right. I've heard that the canopy is a fine example hi-performance modern design. Those nipples are nothing a patch couldn't fix to make it a fantastic canopy.

Harness induced trauma is caused by prolonged inactive suspension in a harness leading to pooling of the blood in the lower limbs-leading to symptoms as dizziness, nausea vomiting and fainting. Sounds like a nice CReW jump too me. But you left out yelling and screaming as other possible symptoms.

# Jumps Wing loading 201 1.4 624 1.6 275 1.3 1,000 1.7 44 1.1 800 2.1 94 1.1 228 1.3 1,600 ? and the more disturbing, the jumpers tryinh high performance landings at low jump numbers regardless of wing loading. T A lot of people botch completely low or "no" performance landings but because they were in some kind of turn induced dive during or or just prior to impact we assume it was a failed swoop and not just a lack of alti ( or canopy dive potential ) awareness followed by a ( too) low turn. Four out of five times when a buddy of mine has been broken and lived to tell me about it later they were not intentionally swooping even though undoubtedly they were in a dangerously low turn. The wing loading issue looks like what I always thought it was...... across the board wingloading not just high.

I know what you mean. We saw video of relative flying between those two and Tim Rigby last May during the VX-39 debut. All three were tight and within reach for a long, long time. Much more than the time required for a quick grab. I hope they got some good video to show.

And all you americans want him dead,Quote No you are wrong, We want Bin Laden dead. We still need Saddam to appear in "Hot shots" part tres.

Perfect. now it smells like one of those pine tree thingys in my car. I thought up where you live there are so many real pine trees you don't need a pine tree thingy in your car?

Upsizing - evolution or the new trend?
VectorBoy replied to frost's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
We still love ya- and thanks for the reply. -
I imagine its Luigi under canopy and Jeb Corliss in the wingsuit.
-
Nice, do you think they will let me take it out of the skyvan?

Upsizing - evolution or the new trend?

Wanted to be able to do some things I couldn't at a 2.5 loading. What would that be? -
If the pony is in a wingsuit you may not want to wrap your legs down and around them as this acts like a speed brake and kills your forward flight ( more ) for some the whole reason for doing a bird-man rodeo. In the case of riding a wingsuiter it may be best to just place your legs alongside their hips and theighs or if possible your kness alonside with your feet draped behind their theighs.

Not everybody that flys an S-3 is into aerobatics. Some just fly Phat smooth and stable and they do a good job of it.

Wingsuit, hell I'd freefly anyone of those rigs. Seriously they would all work. You don't have to have the long bridle or cut corners. Those are nice but not everybody uses them, they are smart recommendations.

I will clarify what I'm refering to so nobody posts a third thread

They giving out free beer or something? I'm refering to the planned bigways. That should draw experienced flyers ( and some BMIs) don't ya think?

My comparison comes from a similar airfoil, planeform, and sized S-3 prototype. When I fly my production S-3 I feel the strain that everyone complained about for years. Now when I flock all day I get tired towards the end of the flights at the end of the day. Manbird flew the suit I'm sure it felt a little soft in the lift department to him. For some people they have had enough strain that a doctor recommends they take the time off the suit. I'm not even going to get into what happens when someone has a shoulder that easily dislocates.

Unclecharlie, I have one of Jari's old prototype S-3s. It is backvented but otherwise it is completely the same in wing planeform and size but it lacks the lift of the production suits. Yes after several flights you can get tired of holding it for two minutes but for years I wondered what the S-3 owners were complaining about I didn't have the arm strain they were exposed to. I now have also a production S-3 and compared to my old S-3 the strain ( lift ) is felt dramatically and instantly. My Question about the vampire relates to the ratio of arm wing ( looks smaller than the S-3 in chord ) and the leg wing which looks to be much bigger again than the S-3. I believe that Robert claimed that upper body armload limit has been reached on the S-3 design. I'm guessing that the V-1 will rely more on the legs ( like so many other suits do) to fly in the sweet spot. But one of my big questions out of this is upper body strain..... same, less? I doubt it would be more than the S-3.

Only a few people can really answer this, like Robi-bird or unclecharlie. I'm about to make an outside observer assumption. Is it fair to say the vampire suit has less arm strain to fly than the S-3 ?

But nobody trains to do that stuff under 80 jumps you little devil. Sly you are.

I imagine that in a few weeks there will be an insane number of instructors converging in Deland.

Yucaipa is positioned 34.03 degrees north of the equator and 117.04 degrees west of the prime meridian. Yeah, close to the foothills. Actually near the base. ltdiver Yucaipa! Then you must have a horse? I bet some of your neighbors even have a sleigh for weather like this.

And did you get to jump with Loic ?? Yes, we jumped with Loic and his friend Kathy both very nice people and amazing wingsuit flyers. Got some docks in, an overall a good time.

reasons why i'd rather not land with the plane...
VectorBoy replied to Zenister's topic in The Bonfire
Al queda flight student. Just show us how to fly, we don't need to learn how to land. -
Are you sure that was a close call and not a planned zoomie? A friend of the family who was a vice squadron commander in a european airforce had to regularly discipline some of his troop for unauthorized zooming but only after there was a complaint.

Where is that, how close to the foot hills? That is tremendous!
