  1. No. But certian people keep giving me crap for pulling high. These aren't the same people that "never look up at their opening" on their docile mains? Tell me these aren't the same people that whip out a beer after we all struggle to find their reserve handle in the heavy brush and we line up expeditious "middle of a boogie" reserve repack just so they can get back up on the horse? Please tell me these are other evil doers and not the evil doers with similarly colored S-3s.
  2. I work most of them, this time its a twelve hour graveyard shift. I get day shift on newyears and the eve.
  3. I'm gonna try to peice together for it. I'll be trying to jump a more "sensible" canopy with a wing suit for a while. Anything scarry happen with the chaos?
  4. My peply> I've never heard that. Flocking lately is what we do in wingsuits and Its a borrowed term from big HD ( they were first ) loose formations moving together. And I have a couple of hours of video of atmonauts turning points. Going from a star with stingers to a formation with stacks. In some cases multiple levels ( hybrids?). If we are tracking we simply call it.... tracking even if it is the whole otter load. If you want you can call it mass tracking. But its basically tracking. You wrote My reply> New names aren't a bad thing as long as someone isn't trying to sell you a license, patch or rating for what you have already been doing all along. When someone mentions Atmonauti to me it just means a FF HD with ( a slight change in body position ) to regulate speed and heading in relation to the base. That sentence is common to everything in skydiving and CReW yet the body position for the atmonauti only applies while on an atmonauti jump. I Have never held that body position in any other facet of jumping from wingsuits, CreW, FF or mass tracking.
  5. And she has a monkey on her back....... make it stop... make it stop!
  6. however that doesnt make it 'completely different' from a steep track or a shallow HD flock... It is just freeflying and only slightly different in terms of speed. You ( people ) don't get uptight when someone mentions Hybrid which is a little a different than both FF or RW. Tracking is tracking, everyone should be able to do some. Flocking is just HD with a push to move in a direction. Whether you want to go forward in unison or race around a pylon, ever done that? Atmonauti is again a little different, not much just a little, try it and get back to us and you won't sweat the name of the game just the skills required to play.
  7. Oh come on you've seen them at boogie partys. They is shakin they azz to the groove but based on their age and manor of dress you can tell they have have Lynard Skynard song stuck in their head. They are just there for the chicks, the X and stuff. Not to nit pick sub categories of electronic music. They could care less.
  8. I think that someone (FF LO) was showing me how one day when I had about about 70 jumps or so, but I'm sure that it would be extremely easy to find someone to show me how at Perris. Eveyone is always wanting to teach the latest things there and at Elsinore, too. Thanks everyone! Btw, is this something that should be preferrably done while wearing a FF suit, or can it be done as well using birdman pantz? Was this LO lil Dave? He is very good at it ( I Shot the video that makes him look good at it ). It was smart not to do it at 70 jumps unless you've done some FF HD. But now that you've been to FF tunnel camp it would be a good thing to try. It is easier than FF HD and safer. It develops the same body movements and muscle training but at slower speeds so it is easier to fine tune without dangerous zooming. I have used both a FF suit and BM pantz for it. I do like the pantz. Although my whole new thing is tighter stuff that flys slower but that is a separate subject. Try it in Eloy, I believe that all of their FF LOs have been exposed to it. Some I'm sure excel at it. Some people believe that this is the future of FF. Free fly as we know it now is going the way of RW with competion points and bigways. Hybrids and stuff done on a tangent or vector will take the place of the new. I didn't say it I'm just repeating it!
  9. Hey now......I listen to ALL music sooner or later. Except maybe polka. It bugs me how you yanks lump everything that is polka into one big category. Any real polka lover knows that polka is a bunch of different styles under one umbrella. Theres is straight traditional polka, jazz nazi polka, punk polka, speed thrash polka. Tejuana polka ( which sounds like a question ) and gay cowboys in bondage polka. Jeez guys broaden your horizons, keep an open mind will ya. This just bugs me.
  10. I'll promise you there is nothing you can do in the atmonauti form that I cannot do in my wingsuit, and I will be doing it for a minimum of two minutes. Edited to make a correction: anything other than flying efficiently feet-first. Chuck Can you hold grips on a round or a star in a wingsuit? Not just back pack or rodeo but a tri-level with riders in a stand? I've seen both personaly.
  11. I am sure they organised it in Perris many times. Yes Eli, Fritz, Charles, Alaska Jon, Swanson have organized a bunch of them during the X-fest. I had the pleasure of doing about 30 of them. Some Perris people have hundreds, ask around Rosa. The Atmonauti is closer to you than you think.
  12. Its been said a billion times on these forums by people that have not done it personally but say it looks like tracking. This just confirms to others that you haven't done it yourself. It is nottracking. If you want to call it freeflying to a horizontal heading fine, but don't call it tracking. It has more to do with headown which not everyone can do than with tracking which most people can do to some degree.
  13. I want the one that gives the greatest amount of performance without putting grueling demands on the pilot. I want it to feel like I'm not wearing a wingsuit and I'm just flying my body. doing manuevers that the top freeflyers are doing in a track but at a better glide ratio. With the precision and range. I don't want my suit to feel twitchy or some to tell me my suit is flying me. I do want distance and time but not at the expense of a suit that is just a bitch to fly. I already know that these requirements will put more demands on me as the pilot than the suit as the platform to achieve these goals.
  14. The graphics mean nothing. Ed I was just asking as I don't have access to the clip and I want to make sure I wasn't crazy.
  15. The MOD effectively ended up being the center most cell on the leg wing. As far as I know it also inflates. The owner is greybeard so maybe he could elaborate some more on it. And you didn't get a picture of it? Shame, shame Lou.
  16. I added wingtip grippers to pre production S-3 that had none. They are about 3/4 of an inch thick and work very well.
  17. James I have a couple of questions for you. Is the Dacron portion of the suit thick and stiff or does it fall somewhere in between the matter type paraglider ZP and BMs balloon ZP? The arm leading edge padding. Does it extend forward and make a profile on the leading edge or just smooth over the contours of the muscle in the human arm? Did you experience the "sponson walk" or rocking back and forth when maxing it out?
  18. Just timed the segment of Jules in the SG off Shmel, and it was only 35 seconds. Ed What did the graphics claim? In time and altitude?
  19. I was getting very consistant 52-54 MPH numbers on my classic before I got my S-3. Funny thing is the numbers on S-3 were no better than my classic at first. I could get in to the 45-47 range with the three consistantly after playing around with it's sweet spot. That was over a couple hundred jumps ago and have no idea what I'm capable of now as I just don't do "number gathering" jumps anymore. I should go see. I got numbers in the low 43-45 right out of the box on the matter two. The early jumps were just that number gathering and don't do much of that anymore. After the first 15 solos with it I was strictly flocking. I am not a Nazi about flocking I just don't do many solos. Its hard to when you have a couple of extra suits and your friends know it. Good numbers are also a little harder to gather when you fly camera, which I do a lot of now. I wouldn't say I'm average bodied for a skydiver. About the same weight but not in muscle tone. Then there are the guys that are six foot but only weigh 140~150 pounds. Chase those guys around the sky for a while and see how you like it.
  20. Dazz right! But I caught the second part, Spill it! Come on BM insiders splane! You don't want anybody accusing youz guyz of being stealthy-er than thou now do you?
  21. Have you seen the classified section John? There are more listed than I have seen in a while. The BM website has a few used on consignment it looks like. Matter is selling their last years Demo fleet of twos. For a lot of jumpers a wingsuit just isn't a priority purchase. They want second rigs or multiple canopys, a camera and helmet first. Spare suits have played a large role in the kind of flocking we do with people that can't or won't commit to their own suit purchase. Right now as in the past wingsuits have held their resale value very well. In fact almost too well for some of these hold outs.
  22. The film segment stated it in graphics. I never timed it.
