  1. Yes it is, I can't wait to see what is up for the next go around. Vibro-massage anyone?
  2. Well we didn't see too many ( not a single one) Land Rovers on the Rubicon. I hear tales of them there after upgrading with exotic and expensive gears and axles. Or strong domestic units. But we saw plenty of jeeps modified into the 70k dollar range. Not what I would call a poor man's anything.
  3. I only get the "sponson walk" on my S-3, although once on the matter.
  4. Ed my reply was a joke. Jojo has already flown my Matter and kicks ass on it. I can see why Ash put him on an S-3 so soon. He just better get a suit soon and represent!
  5. Yes Jojo you can borrow my Matter2 and see if you like it. Glen
  6. not enough wingsuits wingi...... your fired!
  7. Out west only the people that have jeeps that are off road rigs wave. The rest that have larger tires and lifts on original axles and gears with cheeta print seat covers don't. To them its just a convertable cruizer. Come to think of it quite a few stockers wave, but I think that they are just saving up for real gears and axles.
  8. That is a very difficult question. Pull high? Some people don't know how to fly thier canopy for maximum forward penetration with decent glide into headwinds. Instead they rely on common "what to do ifs". Pull normal? Even less people have experience flying their wingsuit for penetration into headwinds. But if you are wings stowed under canopy higher you do have more time to develope your options for an out landing than if you pull normal.
  9. Too many people are out chucking themselves off of things, thinking "I can't possibly get hurt." I was going to ask this very question. Despite their skill does this kind of attitude make you keep your distance from these individuals?
  10. They sound the same to me and I am almost deaf.
  11. Yes Robert must add more colors. What colors are available now? All of those look very good. Not a bad scheme in the bunch. You guys are lucky! And I am jealous! Glen
  12. There is a little phenom in fixed wing aviation flight that occurs when a wing is closer to the ground than its own span. There is a net gain in lift as the high pressure air on the bottom of the lifting surfaces can not so readily migrate to the upper low pressure side due to interference from the ground. I'm not sure how much this applies directly to a rotordisc but its not to be confused with rotorcrafts "translational lift" gained from forward momentum close to the ground before gaining altitude. This technique is used to keep the craft outside of the cone of death.
  13. Ok I'm dieing to know why the peas were invented.
  14. You think god killed 150,000 people just so America could have a "strategic" opportunity? Whoa, that's one mean dude. Before this does get moved to speakers corner: You better rethink that as so much of those lands are uninhabitable to humans now, so many will be environmental refugees in other countries. If the hateful do travel and also remain hateful some will be guests of a culture they may despise. Its a possibility. You could say it would be a great opportunity for scattered cells to wage anglo hate from within the host country.
  15. Have you seen him do it in RL Paul? He was going thru AFF a few months ago and he looked real skeered to me. He could have been real exhausted from doing that trick for you guys.
  16. A wingsuit boogie organizer in the socal.
  17. but picture a plane with the vertical tail mounted ahead of the CG.... what would happen when distubed in yaw? Rutan's twin engine defiant has a "nose rudder" known as the rhino rudder. Mounted below the aircraft right next to the front gear and just below the pilots pedals for rigging simplicity. The winglets are control less. Does this example count?
  18. I never worry about that as bonehead has them bake-able liners and if that doesn't work chris said I can stick my whole head in the oven and reshape that.
  19. If its got cool and groovey styling or looks like a bucket on your head despite the cool name.
  20. Bridle over?: Different from a horshoe mal? Bridle over the nose of an inflating canopy. I imagine this failure mode exists equally for monkey fists ? But yet not so for the short section of PVC tube as a handle? Its a guess but is it the weight of that little leather sucker that flings forward over the nose of the canopy as the canopy slows down during opening?
  21. IMO avoid hackey handles period. For BASE I prefer an external handle (simple tube) as you can feel immediatley when you have located the PC. Why avoid hackeys for skydiving?
  22. There were a lot of really good pilots in that flock who I wouldn't be so hasty to rule out... Oh I'm not ruling them out. I wasn't there and don't know but very few of the players. I couldn't tell you what their dirt dived breakoff procedure was either.
