Wow there are quite a few vampires in those flock pics no?

1 1/2hours to the ocean or 1 1/2 hours to the best snow in the world. No place better. And we have the best meth too,.... cooked local , and A friend of mine can beat the midwest-east coast coke street price by at least 50%. Nothin better on a rainy day! Hey is this stuff as bad as they say it is?

WHOA! Thats not the SMG I remember. Years ago I was working in an industrial setting as a safety checker for the crew that was filming the pilot for what was to become Buffy's series. I was waiting to see the more buxom Christie Swanson from the original buffy movie and was very dissappointed to see this 5' 4" -75# LA stick ( that was ten years ago ). Things have changed, at least surgically. I don't think she can stake you she had trouble walking down the steps from her trailer........ she would never be able to get out on the camera step.

I've got insurance through Progressive and for a year's insurance, it only costs $115, and it's full coverage. Yes but you didn't just buy this bike with a new licence. You have been riding for a few years yes?
-
Someone stated to let your insurance do your shopping. And this speaks volumes. I'm in the same boat as you except I had the bike I wan't already picked out. One problem is that although I've done some riding here and there in my life I never got licenced. Even though I'm safe with perfect record in cars, 40 years old, married ,morgaged. Becuase of that fact They treat me ( rightfully so ) as zero experienced. In other words like a 16 year old with the ink still wet on my licence. And going by their stats ...... a dead guy in training on either a fast sportbike or heavy pricey cruizer. And forget about full coverage. I can get cheaper insurance for a complex twin engine aircraft than full coverage for most any bike. So now I get to find a cheapo bike to putz around on. With liability only for that little sucker will still be more than what I pay for my 4X4s. I hope your insurance situation will be different and alow more flexibiblity.

the argument of thicker matierials vs. more matierials is a bit muddied, however one thing is undeniable drag is drag, if the matierial has a higher drag value if it is thicker, or there is more of it, the quotent is the same as is the effect I've posted that I have many suits and pants made of thin and baggy supplex, pants cut straight but made of thicker polycotton, or suits with multiple layers over lighter materials and some pantz with "vents". I could also care less what Alchemy, Olav or whomever has to say about it...... IMO straight cut thicker suits work best for me for freeflying. I don't care what the fashion trend is. Not all drag is created equal. Drag is a dynamic force.

I did exactly this to an old vector two I use for CReW. Wetsuit 8 MM scraps from a local manufacturer , cost .....free. And ruler to stuff it into the lag strap. Noice!

I paid about 90 U.S. smackers for the Matter pants last year. I own many FF suits and FF pants of other makes including BM Pantz and love the Matter pants the best. I would own one of their FF suits if their website allowed my color combo. BTW I know several people had grippers put on their matter FF pants & suits without request and free of charge. Must be some movement in the FF scene in Europe.

Would you cheat on your SO for Carmen Electra?

Russians successfully land a wingsuit!!!!!!!
VectorBoy replied to veter_'s topic in Wing Suit Flying
I've heard that...... for surface tension right? I always thought the sprays were for visual distance measuring and sight picture. Any idea how much air (or C02, or whatever) would be necessary to create a "landing zone" a couple hundred feet long and hold it for, say, 10 seconds? About 1203 SCFPM should do it as long as the pilot can be reasonably accurate. Of course we are talking about a large bank of portable large capacity screw drive air compressors and an unbelievably large and complex distribution manifold. -
The idea "phenomenal performance" coupled with "will likely never see production" bothers me. Might be translated into very labor intensive to produce and even more intensive ( expensive ) to fix to the extent so that the flapida syndrom does'nt manifest in every production model. Or readily with every pilot. My proto back fly, air-locked S-3 required a lot more work to sew in the air-locks. And it does'nt live up to the lift of the of the production S-3s in normal flight. Ironically my Matter backflies great and achieves wing pressurisation while on the back from, I'm guessing, where the large opening for the rig laterals penetrate the upper wing when the suit is flown on its back. Interestingly enough "some" of the Matter2 owners have trouble with leg wing flapida syndrome and Matter has revamped the design with a larger crotch vent starting with 2005 production models. Its hard to make a suit that works for every body type and skill level as advertised.

Then its time for a photo line-up of the perps! In their V-1s of course.

I am not going to ding JP for his setup if that is what makes him happy. Food for thought I guess. Chuck I'm not dinging JP on this either after all it works for him. And my buddy had a multitude more jumps with the pull- out and wasn't new to wingsuits either. He could not see why it wouldn't work for him. I have zero pull-out jumps and nothing but second hand info of why and why not they should be used. So I dispensed my second hand information. But I'll tell you what........ my friend had a tone in his voice that stated he wished I'd been a little more assertive with the " common sentiment" that pull-outs are just not recommended...... period! Thanks to him now I shall be.
-
I am not going to tell a guy who has been jumping pullouts for 4000 jumps that he can't jump it on his first flight if he is insistent on jumping his own gear. I will recommend differently Chuck This is exactly what I did to a mutual friend who was tired of switching back and forth containers for wingsuit flights. I only provided information and have no bias on pull-outs as I have no experience with them personally. He had thousands of pull-out jumps and I mentioned JP's success with them in wingsuits noting his mileage may be different. My exact words. First pull-out wingsuit jump had him reaching into his container tray to physically place his PC into the airstream after it failed to deploy on its own. Within seconds of landing he proceded to the loft to modify his container to a convertable system. I was happy he was using my better fitting classic than swimming in my large loose fitting S-3. Well now I have a little more historic information to pass on when someone wants to use their pull-out on a wingsuit jump.

Very nice indeed! Can you imagine doing this without a background in rigging/suitmaking I couldn't? Do you recall roughly how many man-hours of actual work, not counting contemplation time?
-
Polycotton or supplex?
-
San Diego helped out a largish new jumper thru an AFF program ( you are not compelled to do a tandem BTW). I'm not sure of the extent or the details. I know he is on these forums and maybe he or his friends can PM you with the details. You can always call them and find out for yourself. It sure beats traveling out of state to facilities that can do big-boy tandems.

Do think there might be some wingsuits down there then? -
Why do people sell their gear for more than a dealer
VectorBoy replied to johnnyboydan's topic in Gear and Rigging
I know that boats resell for a fraction of their original price but I always thought that planes and harleys appreciate, at least they have in the last 15 some odd years. -
but that might just be my memory getting fuzzy. Clear indication that you are not drinking enough Eric.

Jarno can you take a picture of this picture taking rig and post it for us?...... pa ..pa..pa.. please.
-
It depends on your body size, suit size and rig size. Some people actualy have rigs that are not optimally sized for them, believe it or not, so how the laterals penetrate into the back wing and how the harness fits around and in through the front of the wing is largly dependant on your rigs fit on your body. You want a good static fit on the ground but also take into account not stressing the suit when suspended in the harness after deployment. Still its rarely more than a tab plus or minus from the standard.
