Jojo flys very well in any wingsuit. If he wants a Vampire than that settles it, I want one too! Or rather I will need one. I can barely keep up with the Matter ninja now.

Way to go Greg! Excellent flyer and he is almost always there, ready to go.

What is the fastest wingsuit available at the moment?
VectorBoy replied to Trae's topic in Wing Suit Flying
people quit ur biotching and jump any freaking suit you want... dont blame the suit if you suck.... just jump more and have fun so you suck less? You are right but the initial question is a valid one. Is the V-1 right for every? ...no. Are most of the top pilots and a few also-rans getting their best results with the V-1 after trying and owning most of the suits ever fabricated? Yes. Do they agree? Yes. This tread didn't get ugly. -
Ooooh, I like the "other worldlyness" of your work. Nice concepts.

I see Ira!

You could do it with specialized helmets ( like camera helmets ) equiped with a tongue or bite switch trigger activated lazer . Some helmet mounted target receivers ( like the miles gear the military train with ). I wouldn't want target receivers placed that would interfere with either my wingsuit or container harness. But the possibilities are interesting. Along with an audible kill tone, the helmets could also disperse a squib pack of "kill" smoke powder.

Just for my edification, the Vampire is still their flagship most gliding, highest performing design, right? Or has the Phantom surpassed the V-1 and now it is the pheonix top performer ( strictly in terms of glide and distance )?.

WestCoast Wingsuits Weekend at Skydive Oregon!
VectorBoy replied to bodypilot1's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Bump..... How did it go guys? What is the good word? -
I'm sure the majority and moderators feel the same way when you and or I post against the grain established by some of the well meaning but missdirected souls we've had the pleasure of crossing grains with. But I agree, titty bars are fun. You just can't go wrong with that advice.

Very clean lines. I like that suit.

Yep, that's my picture from WFFC 05.

WestCoast Wingsuits Weekend at Skydive Oregon!

Have fun guys. I would be there if I didn't have some prior commitments. -
That settles it I gotta get off my lazy bones, grab the gang and head down there for some flocking and check out that suit. Its been a long time brother.

Ed I read your whole post not just the part I responded to. More importantly I know ( with or without your opinion being puplic) that both brands of high performance suits are awesome. I'm claiming you are not as innocent in the minz vz yurz delema as you would like to portray yourself. BTW me and my shit stirring stick would like to know exactly how many V-1s you've smoked?

3 1/2 hours from door to door going East. 4 hours (with a fuel stop in Pueblo, CO) coming home. The scenery below was amazing. Crossing over the Rockies at 28,000' was spectacular. ltdiver Wow, nice. It took us 12 hours each way in the DC-3 a few years ago with about 4 stops each way. Most for oil and not fuel. We did get to share some tator tots with the local folk. Of course we crossed the rockies at only 13,000 feet. Most of the ride was at 12~11,000 feet.

I wish every wingsuit pilot would just stop all the, "my suit is better then yours" bullshit and just fly together. Unless you are gathering "hard data" and doing MANY solo's to gain this the correct way, stating, "my suit is leading the wingsuits in performance", you are doing nothing but causing anomosity between the flyers that choose other brands to buy and fly. Fly what you choose to fly and just have fun.

How does doing a 180 and flying by them as they are already under canopy sound? Be safe. Ed About half as good as doing a 360 while you fly completely around them during their deployment. But those are just heading number games, yuk, yuk. How many athletic and competent V-1 pilots have you in no uncertain terms "smoked" Ed? That is the question.
-
Not to brag, but I can easily smoke all of the V1's I have flown with in my S3 and my S3 Special, or even in the Hybrid Prototype I have. Smoke or keep up with?
-
Wow that shot stirs up memories. And it looks like that suit inflates easier than my Jari back fly special.
-
I wanted to puke after moisture in the lense ruined my pictures. As far as the aerobatics go I could have done them harder for a longer.
-
Its good to hear that the low turnout and much fewer aircraft available this year isn't holding the flockage back. Of course those might just be nasty rumors.

When the paramedics get to him you know he is going to say he planned it.

You can really see top airlock in IMG_0997.jpg I can see the big inlet across the whole wing top but I can't make out the airlock fabric.

I attribute the Matter 2s good backflying qualities to the comparitivley large openings for the rig laterals. The suit stays inflated. IMO the mono suits require proper body tension to achieve a good wing shape, more so than the Pecnick designed suits. While the Robert cuttaway suits rely more air pressure for shape and a little less on body shape.
