  1. I have no jumps on the crossbow or the Matter 1 and I've never seen the suger glider in person but about fifty jumps on the matter 2 and one on the S-fly. It felt the same as my Matter. Honestly it feels like it has more float than a classic, but "feel" is subjective. And if I had to define its characteristics I would say like the other mono-wings it is more lower body intensive to fly and the BM suits are more upper body centric. Loic remarked on this very thing when he borrowed my S-3 for jump.
  2. The protrac gives averages for both halves and an overall average. Continuity of readings between these numbers and across several jumps adds validity to them. But to answer your question those are excellent numbers for someone of your build. Consistent low fifties are very good average numbers for a classic flown by an average skydiver. Better athletes and better bodys can get better number just like amazing flyers pushing the envelope of this sport but for the rest of us average joes, thats a fine glide.
  3. Yes my point being that amazing pilots get phat glide, fast penetration and speed based on their skill and not the suit. He would be the top of the flock regardless of what suit he is in. Cedric gets vastly superior results on the Matter than I do. But he would smoke me in my Matter or on my borrowed S-3, regardless of what suit I was in. Same for Jari, Yuri and a host of others. I fly with guys that wreak havoc on the classic and most of us fear the day they can afford an S-3 as they will make us really work the entire dive. There aren't many but I know few. But most of all we regularly flock with visitors that get pathetic results on their S-3. They purchased the suits thinking that this is the way to results and the case is closed. Nope! You still have to learn how to fly you. So if some one is impressing you on a suit that is thought of as not so performing as the one you fly then you are working hard enough. You need to fly better.
  4. You do know a ground loop is more like pulling a donut or a spin in a race car than actually looping an aircraft right? Canards fly at higher wing loadings and stall before the main wing. The crafts center of gravity is well aft of the canard and slightly forward on the main wing. Hope that helps.

Hey thats not fair. I'm american but most of my guns are from israel or west germany
  6. If you can not just average but get close numbers on both half of the jumps. Then get similarly close numbers on a series of jumps on the same day ( all three ) sets of numbers then you would be doing excellent my friend.
  7. I am saying that you cannot classify the S-Fly as a "Floaty Mono-wing" suit. I had no intentions of getting into the suit vs pilot debate. Kris. I can classify that suit as mono-wing as it is all interconnected wing-suit- wing just like all of the suits under his design from day one. Also monowing is the matter which is a copy of ( improvement or not ) and the suger glider ( increased surface area version). In all of these designs the body shares pressurisation with the wing portion. Hence MONO wing. unlike the suits that Robert designed while a part of bird man. Unlike the suit under his new company Pheonix , unlike Patricks suit which appears to be a suit not unlike an RW with wings attached to it That are not part of the ram air pressurized sections of the suit. Loics suit has no more forward drive on his suit than a properly flown classic. People fail to realize that Loic, his girl Kathy are very good wingsuit pilots. So are some unkowns that regularly kick the ass of some weak-gliding S-3 owners in their classics, I've seen it personaly. Its all about the pilot and there is no debate about it
  8. This might be slow in the downward domain but this isn't slow in the down ward and shooting out forward flying for three miles plus that wingsuits get you. Everbody is so number fixated its retarded. Until you fly across the valley with tons of altitude to spare or fly relative with the aircraft you just left these numbers mean nothing.

And he got banned because of this? They threatened to kick me out of the gear store for foul language... so I left. The tunnel manager said I could curse all I wanted, so I went in there.
  11. Its not just the pose, real men have body hair its a fact since cave man times. What you have there is not for the ladies but for gay skydivers on extasy.
  12. You say it like these are bad things?
  13. First it was $200 ratings. Then you had to have a $200 jumpsuit. Now you have to stretch. Ughhh. And Fuga sez you have to be supple, I've never been and don't think any part of me could be described as supple.
  14. I wasn't sure if the damaged seams are body side or wing side. Am I mistaken ( happens from time to time ) or are you jumping while deployed? Do you got a little BM booth set up, hoping for some sales? I bet at the very least you could sell a few beenies. But you sell a GTi or four to some local friendlies and you would be the man! Of course get some pics.
  15. "have you ever even touched or seen a real V1?" A high-end wingsuit is an amazingly expensive purchase. I would hate to know that you guys are all spending money on something that you have never even seen, much less demo'd and flown. I have done this exact thing with a couple of other wingsuit manufacturers including bird-man. And I've never met a wingsuit I didn't like. I'm pretty sure Robert has invented another quality product, I'm all about keeping these guys in business so that the evolution/ revolution of wing manned flight can continue! When it comes to wingsuits you can have more than one. Preferably several to share with your friends. The one that dies with the most wingsuits wins, as long as you don't die on a flock!
  16. Would the rigger have to first open the wing up to get to the inside, then sew it closed after repair?
  17. The PILOT is the true guage. Not really!! The S-Fly has a lot of forward drive. I think people are forgetting that Loic's Girlfriend Kathy was right there with the big suits as well. Kris. I think some other people are forgetting Kathy is also a very good wingsuit pilot!
  18. last time I spoke to him he was super busy with V-1 orders. J As it should be! Glen
  19. Yes I would have to say that on the atmo jumps I've been on its not a fixed angle but more fluid and yes its about 45 degrees to the horizon, plus or minus. You get more lift than you would in a head down with a push, or any other flocking FF type jump. We have covered some serious distance on the jumps that we have done. More impressive is that these jumps have been bigger ways of eight or more so Relative was the name of the game not maximum lift, maximum distance type atmonauti. If there is such a thing. The controversy is counter productive. Its just a fun kind of jump to do. The friction created by comparisons to other techniques are kind of silly. I don't care if Frick wants to call it the chineese down hill, I would just play along and do the chineese down hill...... or, if the name bugged me that much, not.
  20. Get an S3 then. Its not a vanity purchase if you tried to get the GTI and couldn't. You never know you might just be vane enough to really fly it well.
  21. Tracking gets more distance. Its glide path truelly is flatter. In a track the relative wind is comming at the side of the body ,belly of back, that is facing the ground. On an atmonauti jump the relative wind should be comming at your body like it is in a head down but your lower body is tilted way over causing a flight path with a trajectory different from just straight down and much more aggressive than a head down with a push like what is used in pylon races, dare I say flock. If you go low on an atmonauti you can track back up to it. The nice thing about these jumps is that they are flown slower than a fast head down, safer for newbees. And they provide more time total for everyone to do more points.
  22. And no cooking information? What kind of website is that? You just rap their breast in bacon like other small lean birds, bonus no shot pellets to extract. Probably tastes like chicken.
  23. Everyone else, YMMV Wow, I've done this exit too many times its no harder than doing a few pullups. I hope you heal quik my lad!
  24. I'd have to check my logbook, but I think today makes me one year jump-free. Derek You are not going to start smoking now to fill the gap are you?
  25. Two brand new wingsuits, a used camera helmet with still and video units, getting the video camera factory refurbished twice this year. Once for moisture once due to impact during a rodeo 6 way. Living to do it all again in 2005............Priceless.
