Wow 20 years 200 jumps now flying a Katana at 1.5 to one and now wanting to fly camera. I would suggest slowing down a bit Kirk He's dead Jim

You forgot to add options for being either sex and have been given warnings. I have received 6 warnings in my life. I received 3 of those warnings while driving a 1970 Cuda. One was when I punched up to 120MPH for just a moment, cop was stuck in traffic and could not pace me. Another I was following a cop in the fast lane doing 75 MPH in a 55MPH. The last one in the cuda I was doing 50 in a 35MPH the cop pulled me over then noticed I had a child in the back seat they were just really happy they where buckled in. Sometimes it may be based on your personal attitude and what kind of story you can create. I also got pulled over once for almost passing a cop doing 90MPH in a 55, I did everything possible to not pass him once I knew it was a cop and this was on a two lane road(one lane each way). The cop took the next street to get behind me and I just pulled in behind him and stopped before he turned on his lights ( I got off on with a warning) Kirk He's dead Jim

100% agree with you. Just imagine the student dropping one knee or one leg which happens quite often during normal tandems along with body positions I can hardly imagine the human body contort to without harm. The wingsuit also limits the instructor being able to ankle lock the student if needed. Kirk He's dead Jim

I think both outside video and handy cam have there place. Handy cam gets one very important shot that can never be captured on outside video and that is the first reaction under canopy. Also I have seen very few vidiots that can get a close up of the facial expression right off the plane a shot that is always there with handy cam. I do think outside video offers a field of depth in free fall that handy cam truely lacks. My wife has never went skydiving but has edited several hundred tandem videos (mostly outside video but some handy cam video) from her perspective she thought handy cam offered a more true point of view (from a students perspective) of the skydive. I think both offer something different and I think given a choice you would still have a market for both. I can understand at a 182 dropzone the reason to just offer handycam but I think at any dropzone with bigger aircraft both types of video should be available. Kirk He's dead Jim

Here is a pack volume chart from paragear Pilot 150 339 Cubic Inchs, Sabre 2 150 pack Volume of 338 Cubic inchs. I understand that UPT states the Pilot 150 should have a different size container but I really do not think 1 Cubic Inch would make that much difference. Kirk He's dead Jim

She is asking about the reserve not the main hense the title of the thread " PD Reserve vs. Optimum" Kirk He's dead Jim

I have attached the sizing chart from UPT Kirk He's dead Jim

On a V310 the PD 143 is a standard fit so you could put a Opimum 160 instead. The Optimum reserve were designed so one could upsize their reserve one size from what their container was designed for. Kirk He's dead Jim

If this is truely the entire video of his wingsuit jump video one question comes to mind why were there no practice pulls. I am not a trained wingsuit instructor but I would think the first jump would be made up of two things proper exit and pull. The exit would be practice on the ground but why no in flight practice pulling? My first jump on every new wingsuit I get is comprised of mainly practicing pulling. Kirk He's dead Jim

I sure hope that the pool swoop was set up before hand and the people in the pool knew the swoop was going to happen. If not then the canopy pilot should lose his license as he put himself and everyone in the pool in danger. Kirk He's dead Jim

There are generally 2 types of Safire1s, some opened hard and had weak flares (from my understanding those all came from Precision Aerodynamic but not all of theirs are bad) and then there are the ones made in Spain that open great, fly terrific and have flare for days. I had one made in Spain and loved it. Kirk He's dead Jim

Where can I buy one of these? Kirk He's dead Jim

I am not sure how many we had, at times there would be a line 15 people long getting to our front door. We went through $100 in candy the fun size handing out 2 to each and were out of candy by 7:45. There were people out trick or treating past 9PM in our neighborhood Kirk He's dead Jim

I have used a toggle turn to fly out of line twist on a tandem canopy 4 times. I started with just appling a little toggle to make sure I pulled the right one and once I had the right one pulled hard and the canopy untwisted it's self. I also have tried this a couple of other times where it did not work, one the line twist were too tight to pull the toggle down the other when I pulled the toggle we just did a turn. There are two other methods I know of to get out of line twist one is to bring the twist down into the risers by twisting the risers together( I have had this work well too). The other is to kick and if that does not work have the student kick with you. Kirk He's dead Jim

I agree and quite ballsy to try and blame the owner. Kirk He's dead Jim

it is intersting to me that most all of his current video stuff is on his X-bird, but yet he is sporting a Stealth 2 in the pictures Kirk He's dead Jim

While I have have seen people load them light and be fine, personally if the company that make it recommends a1.4 or higher I would think it would be a good idea to stay in those guild lines. Kirk He's dead Jim

It is real simple after opening turn the camera off, deal with the line twist. Then turn the camera back on, I have done this several times myself. Kirk He's dead Jim

I think your first 100 or so jumps should be without one; however, I feel an audible is essential for learning to freeflying due to the increased speed/ shorter freefall time. Kirk He's dead Jim

line twist on tandem canopies that open full flight can be very difficult to get out of. I know of three methods to get out. 1. Bring the line twist down to the risers by using both hands and twisting the riser. Once down in the risers it will generally untwist it self. 2. Be careful on this if possible pulling the correct toggle can untwist the canopy, but pulling the incorrect one will definetly make things worse. Generally, I start by just appling a little with one to see if it is the right one. 3. kick out, and if necessary have the student kick too. I have used all methods and had them work well at times and had the first two not work but kicking with the student help kick finally got out of the line twist on one. Kirk He's dead Jim

It is my understanding(from these forums over the years talking about this) that there are basically two types of Safire 1's, some open hard and have less flare power and others that open great and have flare for days. I had one of the later mine was produced in Spain not by PA. I put over 300 jumps on the one I had and no mater how I packed it, I always got great opennings Kirk He's dead Jim
